Rooms are clean. Management doesn't appear to be onsite but came to fix the remote and handle a noisy guest as soon as I called. So no complaints. Did I say rooms are clean? Looks like relatively new bathroom. And for the price to get nice amenities like a clean fridge and microwave is a bonus too. Really for the price it's a good deal. There was a king bed, sitting are with a table , couch and chair and a large wall-hung tv. Large bathroom too with a tub/shower. Room also has a coffee make, microwave and mini fridge. Motel overlooks a four screen drive in movie which you can watch (think it's weekends only though) Only negative was the terrible WiFi connection, so not good if you have to have that. read more

This little spot is the cleanest and quietest motel I've ever stayed in! The walls are sound proofed! I heard absolutely NOTHING, and that's how I like it! It was winter. And this looks like its quite the summer blues getaway..They have 4 drive in screens and in the summer you can listen to each movie from the comfort of your room! But anyway, we arrived after nine pm and they seem to operate the establishment remotely which is odd, but it seems to work, so we went with it and were able to let ourselves in per their instructions! There is supposedly a theme to each room (Hollywood actors/ actresses). But they only have cutout pictures of each star on the walls.. I thought it was okay, but not really themed.... We asked for the Tom Cruise room, but got the John Wayne room, and I am sooooo not into western unless its Clint Eastwood. But since it was so sparkling clean and the beds were absolutely magical, we let it slide... So glad we did. We had the best rest ever. Thanks Starlight! The outside was extremely welcoming. The checking in was contact free but regardless they were extremely friendly. Entering the room it felt, clean and smelt like bleach. They had shoe trays to put your shoes on. They have real slate tile upon entering the room which shows they take pride in their inn. They have vaulted ceilings with recess lighting. The tub is huge!! At night they have their roofs lite in different colors which was beautiful. Everything was so neat, and thought out. It was close to local restaurants which have great food. The first thing that struck me when I entered the "Marilyn Monroe" Room at the Starlight Inn was how clean it was! I mean, it was spotless ... and even smelled good. And it had all of the amenities that you would expect -- TV, microwave oven, coffee pot, refrigerator, ironing board, etc. I liked that it had a completely private bathroom ... many hotels I've stayed at have their bathtub/shower and sink open to the rest of the room. This is OK if you're traveling alone, however, if you're not this could be a problem. As several people have mentioned, their "office," which they advertise as being open 24/7, is not staffed. You have to call a phone number and they will instruct you how to get in. But I arrived at 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve and found nobody there, so I called the two numbers attached to the front door. Not only did nobody answer, but nobody returned my calls after I left messages. Luckily for me, my cousin lived only 5 minutes away, so I went to her house, returning to the Starlight at 4 p.m. This time, I called the number again, and a woman answered and instructed me how to get in my room. This whole thing was only a minor inconvenience, but it you're going to operate your office remotely, at least answer your customers' phone calls! The only other complaints I have is that the mattress on the bed in my room was sagging on one side. Apparently, most customers prefer to sleep on that side of the bed, wearing out the mattress. To be fair, there was another queen-sized bed in the room, but I preferred the bed farthest away from the window, so I didn't even check out the mattress on that bed. Also, the television-watching experience wasn't the greatest. The TV's volume control is limited and would go up only so high, so I found it difficult to hear the TV. Yes, this is great so your neighbor doesn't keep you up all night, but what good is it if I can't hear the TV in my own room? Also, the remote control was very wonky, and was difficult to operate properly. This is coming from someone who is a computer and electronics expert, so it's not that I didn't know what I was doing. All in all, I had a pleasant experience at the Starlight. It was my second time staying there, and I will definitely stay there again when visiting my cousin. read more

This is our second time here. We came back because the owner was really kind But the room we were given was the worst place we have ever stayed in. Words cannot describe this place. There are more code violations here !! This "Hotel" would fail an inspection. If they bothered to inspect it. The room is dusty, moldy and my husband killed a tick. They called it a two bedroom-putting 1/2 a curtain between two spaces does not constitute a room-especially when you cannot stand in the "pretend room" .... I won't even bother describing the actual room. I honestly don't like to leave bad reviews, but I feel I owe it to other people. Stay away from this place. the owner as is quite nice, and I feel somewhat guilty but she has got to invest a bit if she would like to continue to stay in business Never again!!! read more

Being a social media geek, I did my research before heading out to Burlington. Saw all the awesome reviews and photos and even a TV news blurb about the hotel. I'm all about supporting local businesses and this is the perfect hotel to support. It's pretty new, it has all the bells, whistles and buzzers (no, seriously, it has a doorbell and a cool combination doorbell/do not disturb outside light) How cool is that??!! Tray ceilings with recessed lighting, new lamps that have plugs for your chargers/cell phone. The colors are bright and refreshing. We stayed in the Brad & Angelina room (double queen) comfy beds, big bathroom and mini fridge (with a cute ice tray), microwave and coffee maker = happy camper! The drive-in is pretty cool. We were here in the fall on a Monday, so no movies (only on the weekends) but they have a sign in the room which radio station to tune-in on and you can listen to the movie in your room. Pretty cool. We were fortunate to have the Hollywood VIP room and it was beautiful, updated, and probably the cleanest room we have ever been to. Staff was friendly and attentive. The room was quiet even though the Inn was pretty busy all weekend. The jacuzzi tub was relaxing and a great addition to the room after checking out Burlington in the cold all day! We rented the VIP (Dean Martin) room which is room #1. The decor of the room is extremely nice and it was very clean. The room has a King size bed and a pull out couch. The mattress on the bed is very comfortable. The sheets smelled like they just came out of the laundry. The room has a large tv with plenty of channels. There is a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There is also a breakfast bar and plenty of storage if you plan an extended stay. The room has a tray ceiling with recessed lighting. There are dimmer switches that enable you to turn the lights down low. The inn is also very tech savvy with high speed wifi, buttons that you can push on the inside of the room that light up outside so as not to be disturbed or to let the staff know to make up your room. There are plenty of outlets for your electronics and the room has a Panasonic stereo system with an Ipod docking station. The bathroom has a very large spa tub with jets and lighting. It easily fits two people and is so relaxing that you hate to get out of it. The shower does not lack for water pressure. The bathroom also has a heat light. As if the room wasn't enough of a treat; you also get in to the drive in for free. The price is usually $8 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12. This includes two movies. There is also a gazebo on the property that is screened in and you can see several of the movie screens from it. You also have a view of 3 of the screens from the VIP Dean Martin room and the ability to turn on the radio and watch from your room. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and helpful. They really do go out of their way to make your stay a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this for a nostalgic get away and as a treat for your kids if they haven't experience the fun of a drive in. read more

Get out of the hustle of Burlington and stay in this cute little motel. Rooms are updated, clean, and theme decorated by movie stars. We had the Marilyn Monroe room. Only bad thing was the overwhelming Lysol smell every time we opened the door to enter. The owners also own the drive in movie theater next door and you can either drive your car in to see the movies for free or watch screen one from the hotel gazebo. There's a permanent radio to dial in the sound but we could not get it to work. We ended up taking our radio alarm clock from our room out there and had an amazing time. Bring bug spray... This place does not have a front desk to check in. As we entered Vermont we began calling the provided number and left 3 messages and call back number. Nothing. As we got closer within 10 minutes someone anwered and said call when you get there. 10 minutes later we arrived and called. No one answered. One person drove in the parking lot got out then entered a room. So after 20 plus minutes waiting still no call back or anything, we decided to go elsewhere. Seemed shady. The rooms here were wonderful and the staff was incredibly friendly. I have rarely been happier with a motel stay. We stayed in the "Martin and Lewis" and lounged in bed throughout our visit watching movies on the awesomely placed TV. The location is fantastic as well, very close (walking distance) to restaurants, small-town pubs, and necessities (grocery, Rite-Aid, the local diner, etc.) I could easily make staying at the Starlight a regular mini-vacation thing--I want to go back in the summer and check out the drive-in. We stayed in room 3, Julia Roberts. It was impeccably clean with nearly everything in perfect working order. Extra sink, great bathroom, darkening shade, large flat screen tv, and the drive-in movie theatre next to the hotel was free with my receipt! Fantastic!! Really appreciated being able to check in extra late, they were very accommodating to my schedule. Kept up on the linens and room was always clean. Mini-fridge and microwave worked great, a/c was plenty strong. Bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows, we really had no complaints whatsoever. I had to leave early because of outside complications but would be happy to come back to the Burlington area and stay here. I can't say enough good things about the Starlight Inn. Upon check-in I discovered that my credit card had been blocked (for suspicious activity). The owner said he'd hold my room while I called to straighten things out. I ended up having to call Bank America twice for a total of 45 minutes before my card was unblocked. The owner held my room for me despite there being 2 other calls to rent the room. Once in the room I was very satisfied. It was spotless. There was a bathroom with a tub shower, toilet and counter with a sink. Just outside the bathroom was another counter with a sink, microwave and coffee maker. Below the counter was a small refrigerator. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. I slept like a rock! When I was leaving one of the cleaning staff asked me if everything was okay with my stay. We decided to stay last year because it was snowing back home and we didn't want to drive. I wasn't expecting much because the price of the room. I've posted this on google and I am repeating it here lest anyone make the mistake of staying here. While the stay in the room was adequate (hardly five star, as their rating would indicate), the owners' responses to a problem were deeply disturbing. Here's what happened. We accidentally left two things in our room when we checked out. Discovering this a few days later, we called to ask if the items had been found. The owner said that they had. "I have them right here" were his exact words. We asked them to send the items, and he asked for our credit card information. It all seemed rather minor and correctable. Except we never got the items, and we never got a phone call telling us what had happened. We've called repeatedly and the best explanation we've gotten is that the "Post Office must have lost them." Each time we have called, it seems we have had to remind them of the problem They can provide us with no tracking number. There is no transaction on our credit card. And, they claim that they did not insure the package. When asked what we can do, their reply has been essentially "nothing." So we are SOL and they seem indifferent. Next time you're in Burlington, stay somewhere else. read more

What a great find. Family owned 11 unit Inn next to the family own drive in. Just renovated in 2014. Clean and had everything you needed Mini Fridge, Coffee pot and microwave. Had a sink outside next to the microwave as well as in the bathroom. They have free wifi and large LG flat screen TV mounted on the wall. It is near a great little dinner and there is other restaurants close by. Have already booked again for future travels to bring my children back to college at ST. MIKE"S. Only 15 minutes from the college. I hope they will do well and stay in business for a very long time. Not often are there family owned Inns left...this one is a treasure! read more
