Check out the space's website at 032.LA to make sure members are there first. It's a just show up and do your own thing kind of lab. You can find people building a space antenna to building an amateur battle robot. I feel that their old DTLA location was more convenient for everyone to get to, but this newer location has more space which houses their machines and tools better. Tools from 3D printer, microscopes, laser cutter to drill press. Great space and would recommend any one with a geeky streak to check out. When I call on the phone, nothing happens; not even a ring (I have tried multiple times). The web site says that the open/closed sign in their home page indicates whether someone is there but it does not; it seems to be stuck on "Open". The Contact page in the web site does not work; nothing happens when I click the link. So I drove there, since the open/closed sign in the web site said they are open and I did not know that the sign does not work. At the front door the mail box is full of mail (on a Saturday evening) so no one is getting the mail. There are multiple package delivery attempt notifications on the front door. Those are the facts. My impression is that the club is in trouble from inactivity.

The theater itself has a very bare-bones, pure theater feel which I never imagined existed out in tinsel town. I have never been happier to be wrong. Last night, I had the pleasure of attending a performance of Hamlet. The cast was completely solid, lead by Christopher Karbo taking on perhaps the most difficult character in literature and making it look easy. He commands the stage with such a strong presence; during his performance of each soliloquy it felt like an intimate friend taking each individual audience member aside and really having a heart-to-heart with them. It felt so raw, and true. Eric Castro and Mary Carrig give excellent supporting performances. Each line was delivered with such passion. It was absolutely a fantastic show, and a great way to return to watching theater performances on a personal note.

I am I am a 55-year-old man who has never roller skated before. But a close friend was going to have a rollerskating birthday party, and I didn't want to be making things awkward by not being able to join in. I did six lessons with JC over the course of about 2 1/2 weeks. And at the end of it, I was able to go to the party and spend the entire two hours skating. I won't say that I was *graceful*, but I stayed on my feet, never fell, and had a great time. I am actually looking forward to skating again! Thanks, JC! JC is a very good coach and very patient. He was able to accommodate my chaotic schedule, which was a huge help, and I found his rates more than reasonable. Five stars all the way.

There was a good command presence, and they did a good job walking around making sure everything was on the up and up. There were plenty of tables and chairs to eat and enjoy the live entertainment. The crowd was having fun and the volunteers did a good job keeping everything running smoothly. It's always nice to support the local schools They have silent auction and hourly 50/50 raffles. The parking lot gets full rather quickly, so expect to look for street parking. All in all it was a fun outing

The amount of carnival games I almost non-existent for a fair, as there were only 6 games total for attendees to play. Definitely not enough variety for kids. And winning tickets which they needed to redeem for prizes that looked rather sad and definitely not even worth $1, even for 6+ tickets is just sad. A slightly positive in that most games were priced reasonably for current standards at $3-5 ea play. The lines for the rides were all very lengthy and doubt you could really get your money's worth from the unlimited ride wristband. Otherwise each ride would cost from $6 and up. The food selection was average though with plenty of varied options. While I do like to support the local community when I can, not sure I would attend this again next year with the decrease in carnival type atmosphere and seemingly more of a pocketbook stretcher to get any fun out of this fair.

This year we got the usual great lineup but instead of the DIY style show in a parking lot, Professor Vic moved it to the Cathedral. Located right off Garey, The Cathedral is tough to miss. There's plenty of street parking on Center St and there's also a small parking lot across the street. This used to be a YMCA but it looks like an old church with dark wood flooring, high ceilings and stained glass windows. A very cool venue. How did it sound? Loud. Extremely loud. They also had a huge video board which gave each band a little extra hot sauce. There were a couple of bars in the back and you could also order food. It's air conditioned in there but between the heat (100+ outside at the time) and the amount of bodies inside, it was at least bearable. Mosh for Youth was great as always and while I loved the DIY ethos in the past this felt like a leap forward. The sound, look and venue made this feel big time. I hope future MFY shows take place here...until they maybe outgrow this place too, which would mean more scholarships for the kids. Highly recommended!
