This place is terrible. If you ever find yourself in Starks, LA, first you need to ask yourself where your life went wrong. Did you make a wrong turn physically and emotionally? Are you still punishing yourself for not making the JV football team while your classmates went on to years of high school glory and teenage pregnancy? Everything in this place is sticky like a band of 3 year olds with the common cold high had a mucus fight. The decor could be described as Country - Prison. To add life to a place that is completely void of it, they have a fish tank near the restrooms filled with cloudy water and "today's catch" out of the coy pond out back. The only great thing about this place was the piece of nostalgia hanging on the wall. I hadn't seen one in 20 years and I had to physically touch it to understand that I hadn't been poisoned by the mercury tap water, but theres an actual working payphone in this place!!! If you're running from the feds and you need to make a call, this is your diner! I had the chicken fried steak with mashes potatoes, the grizzled piece of meat seems like it had been sitting at the bottom of the fryer all day and finally emerged after my order. I'm not saying the mashed potatoes were the worst I've ever had but it was the first time I've ever had to mash instant potatoes with my dirty fork in order to get them down my throat. There's a convenient store next door, if you break down in the parking lot one day and your emaciated body needs nourishment to continue living please save yourself and grab some ding-dongs and a coke from the gas station and thank God you were given the strength to make the right decision. read more
