I had my first microneedling facial with Melissa today. She took time to explain what to expect and how to care for my skin after. The heated table was so lovely while the numbing gel set in. The procedure was painless and relaxing! Looking forward to my next appointment with her. The receptionist was very helpful and made booking my appointment super easy. I joined their membership. I feel it offers an excellent value for anyone wanting to make self care a priority. A week later, my healing process has gone very well with positive changes in my overall skin appearance and texture. Would definitely recommend Starkey medical. Thank you for providing a very enjoyable experience :) read more

The staff here are nice. The prices for services are pretty good compared to others. And Michelle Meinhart, who I believe owns this salon is wonderful! I highly recommend!!! read more

I would highly recommend Starkey Medical Esthetics! Their variety of products and procedures are unmatched! They sell Restylane and Allergan both, just to name a few. I recently had a Morpheus 8 performed by Colleen, who is absolutely phenomenal! You can Google this procedure, which I also, highly recommend, but from start to finish my experience was excellent. I was nervous, so I'm sorry, I don't remember the girls name at the front desk, but she was awesome also. Everyone made sure I was very comfortable, and my procedure went great! I will definitely go back! WPlease check out their IG @starkeymedicalnp read more

I couldn't be happier with Starkey Medical and the staff. Very professional, clean facilities, helpful, informative, on time, and call me by name when I enter. They greet you with a smile on their face and must enjoy their job since I have been going there for several years and I haven't seen a turn over of employees. I have never had a problem scheduling appointments and all the treatments I have received have been awesome! I have been so impressed with their care that I recommended two family members and two friends who are now patients. read more

Nope. Absolute nope. Went to the one in Salem. I was booked for a microdermabrasion today, came in, and was back there 8 minutes. Two of those minutes, she was hooking stuff up. She suctioned the outer perimeter of my face only, even after I told her the cheeks and nose were problem areas. I didn't get those suctioned, or cleaned. My cheeks and nose were totally missed! How do you ONLY do the outer perimeter??? I have a patch on the bridge of my nose that has dry skin, and it's like a line... You can't miss it. I get back out to the car, and yep. Still there. Not even cleaned. She was too light handed, hardly touching my face when she wiped it, and after when applying the "lotion/sunscreen".... There was so much not rubbed in, that my face felt like grease. I get home, about to cry, because I've wasted money, and looked forward to a relaxing treatment all week, and the makeup wipe i used before washing my face? Yeah, covered in dirt still. Especially my nose and cheeks. More than pissed. I'm upset. Upset I wasted my time, and money here, and looked forward to this all friggen week!!! 8 minutes?! Come on!!! This was absolute crap, and I've messaged on fb asking for a full refund. read more

Laser hair removal played a mean joke on me. Every six weeks, I dutifully visited my aesthetician, who spread cold gel on my skin and flashed it with a laser. I kept going back until I'd completed six sessions. And nothing change, nothing ! read more

Very nice people - but don't buy packages offering services that are paid for in advance, as unless you are a 'lady of leisure' you'll have a hellacious time trying to schedule an appointment. read more

I recieved a "full brazilian wax" from them and it was horrendous. They used strip wax instead of hard wax, and the technician struggled to get the wax to work properly. I was in pain and I have been getting these waxes for 5 months now with no issue from other salons. She only removed hair from the bikini line and proceeded to charged me $80 (a VERY unreasonable price) for a full brazilian even though there was still hair on all other places. I normally pay $50 elsewhere and I am completely hair free so needless to say I will not be returning. read more

I have been coming to Starkey Medical for a couple years, and I love them! I am very pleased with the outcome of the procedures I have purchased from Botox to Titan to laser genesis! I am now a VIP for discounts! Michele is so sweet! read more

This is my second time coming to Starkey medical Esthetics and this time around has definitely been better. I like the new staff they're much more helpful and friendly. I think Melissa does a great job and the hair removal definitely works for me. read more

Michele and her staff are so helpful, professional and knowledgeable. The office is spotless and inviting and I am more than pleased with the results I have gotten from procedures and skin care products. I have referred many of my friends to Starkey Medical and will continue to do so! read more

I bought a Groupon for laser hair removal at this place because the price seemed very good. When I started going here for treatments I didn't know what laser treatments were supposed to be like. They use an Nd:YAG laser, which I learned is not as effective on light skin compared to other lasers, and are very conservative with treatment settings. I didn't completely shed hair in the treatment area 7-10 days after most of the treatments, which meant that the treatments were not working well. I saw very little reduction in the amount of hair growing back several weeks after the treatments. I had six treatments I think, separated by something like 4-6 weeks. I have since been to several other laser hair removal places that use better lasers and more aggressive settings. At those places I experienced proper shedding and noticeable reduction in hair that grows back after each treatment, so I feel like going to Starkey was a waste of time and money. read more

When I first started going here, I didn't think it was too bad; however, now that I have been to other places and have a baseline, I realize why this place just felt so wrong. There were stains on the treatment bed, dirt on the floor...it's an old building so I can understand some things; however, not filth. After 10 treatments, the esthetician still didn't know my name, and honestly, I really don't think she cared to (even though I left good tips). As far as the quality of the laser hair removal, it was fair at best. I had to go to another clinic to have the treatment cleaned up and done correctly. read more

I am sorry to say that but this laser treatment was disappointing.it didn't work at all neither me nor my husband.we bout the ticket from group on but it was just waste of money.i think the equipment and staff proficiency is not good.Melisa worked on me and my husband we have different type of skin but for non of us i didn't work and i stopped going there after 7 session.the receptionist was so rude also when i came 10 minutes late for my appointment she said we cant take you!!that was the only time i was late and she thought she is doing a favor accepting me while i was paid For these useless treatment.my husband and i we just wasted or 250 box for nothing. read more

I would give this 0 stars if I could. I have been trying to make an appt since the beginning of October for a groupon I got for a gel manicure at the Blacksburg location. It is now December and I am no closer to having an appt. The hours are incredibly inconvenient, they only had one nail tech for the last 2 months, they were terrible at calling me back when they said they would, and now they have 0 nail techs. If i hadn't already paid for the groupon I would have no desire to go there as it is not worth the headache. read more

I bought a Groupon a few years back for the SME laser hair removal. I think it was 8 total sessions and I was told right up front, it's often successful for permanent hair removal but not guaranteed. I have about an inch long scar on my jaw starting at my chin that I got when I was 19. By the time I was 22ish, hair had started to grow from it so I'd plucked and tweezed for over 20 years. I started my sessions and was told to just let them grow so they'd be easier targets to hit with the laser. 7 sessions later, it was enough of a success to make me happy. Hair still grew from the scar, but not as proliferate and it was much more fine when it did. I went from 10 minutes of tweezing to about 1 minute so I was pleased. Again, they TOLD me up front it wasn't guaranteed to permanently remove all hair. My appointment times were always within a few days of calling, the receptionist was very nice and worked hard to get me in when it suited my schedule, and the technician was pleasant and explained as we went. Now, a few years later, the hair has become more proliferate again and I'm on the hunt once again - for guaranteed permanent hair removal this time. Over all, a good experience with SME. My only beef was that the Groupon "retail price" was actually inflated so that the half-price that was offered was SME's every day pricing - I found that out when I went for my first appointment and picked up a brochure to learn about the other services they offered. It wouldn't keep me from returning, though, I got what I paid for. read more

I purchased the 6 session Lipo-Vibe through Groupon and had NO results with the treatment. What a waste of $225.

This place should be closed down for fraud. First of all when they advertised that the lipo-vibe sessions were 20 minutes long, they lied. They do 5 to 8 minutes at best (usually only 5). And watch when they "measure you". They will measure you holding the tape measure as loosely as possible so that it appears that you have lost inches every time. They also measure you in two different spots so that the "after measurement" is less. They will also try to sell you all kinds of products while they are giving you the treatment. The offer "samples" that you have to pay for. Seriously? read more

I bought a Groupon for a service at this facility. I chose to go to their Salem location. I have now been to 5 of my 6 sessions. I have been able to schedule appointments to meet my scheduling needs without any problem. The staff from the receptionist to the technician have been extremely professional. The facility is new and very inviting. I have never had any of these procedures before so I have found the explanation of the procedure helpful and any questions I have posed have been answered to my satisfaction. Most importantly the procedure is working in the time frame of the Groupon. I am very satisfied with my choice to go to Starkey Medical Esthetics. read more

I got laser hair removal on my arm pits, 8 sessions and it never got all the hair. Nikki told me that I had the perfect hair for removal and it should be a success. Well I figured a few hairs I could live with but after 5 months all the hair started growing back. I wish I would've read the reviews before I went there. I totally wasted all that money. I would not recommend them for laser hair removal. read more

Paid $160 to get laser hair removal along with my friend, who paid $225. Her sessions started before me and after two months of her 6 treatments her hair grew back, I wasn't finished with mine at the time so I got worried and told them to make sure they turn up their machine because I wanted to get good results. Well I am now done with my 6 sessions and a month later after all that pain and money I still show no sign of results. The first two sessions it looked like their were results but it eventually just grew back. The lady told me I had perfect skin and hair for the removal, I am very upset with wasting my money and time, plus it was painful for no reason. I do not recommend their treatment at all. read more

I bought a Groupon that was being offered by Starkey Medical for LipoVibe. Apparently they oversold it because the machine broke, I had to reschedule my appointment, and they were severely backed up. The nurse Kim was very nice when I finally did come in and tried to accommodate me so that I could get all of my treatments in. But the receptionist is discourteous and incompetent. She screwed up at least 2 of my 8 appointments. When I could not see Kim, I had to see the esthetician Nikki who's a space cadet. And when I called the physician who runs the place to complain about all the mixups both the receptionist and Nikki were quite rude the next time I came in. I've been to med spas in Chicago so I overlooked certain things about this place because it's located in a small town. But I purchased a Groupon to another spa and this place is just not up to par. I actually still have 2 treatments left but I'm cutting my losses because dealing with them is more of a pain than the Groupon is worth. read more
