    Starkey farms paying for blueberries
    Noaa B.

What a great experience. I came with my parents mid day to blueberry pick. Parking wear plentiful and we were greeted nicely. The lady at the front explained how it works. We washed our hands, got a bucket and went picking. You can, by the way, bring your own bucket or bowl, just be sure to weigh it before you start picking. You want to go ask the way to the back of the farm and to the left as you enter, mainly because less was picked there, and it was easier to find many ready blueberries there. The berries were huge and delicious!!! We picked about 4 lbs and it was well worth it! I would recommend coming with your kids. It's a great activity. We could not find the strawberries as they were all the way in the back to the right. I guess we didn't walk right enough. Nonetheless, great experience an hour from St Petersburg.

Four pounds of strawberry bliss is what I have after picking strawberries at Starkey Farm. I came here a few years ago to pick blueberries, and now is the perfect time for strawberries. It was super easy. No registration or check in. I just saw on their FB that there was picking today and tomorrow. Keep checking there depending on what is still available. Make sure to use the Starkey blvd. Because GPS will tell you to take another street. I'd suggest putting Starkey Market in GPS. It's down the street so make sure to keep your eyes peeled out for the Starkey blueberry farm sign. It's across the street from a small plaza that has Havana Dreamers Cafe. They tell you to wash your hands and you will get a bag. As soon as you go in the field, you will see the low plants which are strawberries. The high bushes are blueberries. These are such good strawberries, so mouth watering good!! When you walk the path of strawberries and see bright red, you might feel like it's a jack pot lol. I did. If I saw a bunch of red strawberries in other aisles I would walk over the aisles to get them because walking around was too much lol. So happy to have gone strawberry picking today. Now off to make all things strawberry. Today, January 4, 2021, the strawberries were $4/pound.

Second time here. Came out last year for blueberry picking and returned this year for strawberry picking. Picked 11 pounds of strawberries in 40 minutes. Will definitely be back in the Spring for blueberries.

First time strawberry picking and I wasn't disappointed at all. Starkey also allows Blueberry picking - it'll be in a couple months! I went on a weekday when it's the least crowded. They have orange tape to signal where to park and an area to wash hands before receiving your plastic bag to pick the berries. There are 3 fields - the berries in the back is where you want to go since it is the least visited arae & has the most ripened ones. The picking process is so addicting because you'll be in your row going after some beautiful berries and glimpse over to see red jewels staring back at you...like Rachel said, you just hop over the row of berries to get to the ones that are calling out your name! Honestly, this was so serene. It really is the most perfect family event to do. They weren't enforcing masks since it's outside FYI. You need to check their Facebook for the latest news on availability to pick berries - they list the days & time. First come, first serve basis! The berries are $4/lb. I got a little over 3 lbs. Or $14. Also, I love being able to share my berries w/friends. I'm freezing the rest to make strawberry cheesecake with!

Large farm with good berries, but I've NEVER been to a u-pick where they charge you for the bucket. It seems like a straight up scam to me, to charge $7 for the bucket on top of whatever blueberries you pick. Most places give you the bucket, you line it with a bag, then you give the bucket back and take your bag. It also conveniently doesn't say anything about this on their website.

This Pasco County pick your own blueberry farm is pretty close to our house, so we visit it often when it's open in the spring. We pick enough to stock up for smoothies for the next several months. They freeze in ziplock bags. Walking through the fields and picking a bucket of berries is a great outdoor escape (especially during this year's quarantine). It's easy to find a spot away from other people so it's quiet and relaxing out there. Look forward to it opening again.

Went here with my family to pick some blueberries. We usually go to blueberry blessings in Hudson. It was ok, the land was very swampy and unkept in the fields. However the market was cute and would probably go back just for the market and their local homemade sangria.

Delicious blueberries!! My 5 year old daughter had the best time picking them!

The fresh blueberries are delicious!! We can't wait to go back for blackberries and strawberries when they are in season. What a wonderful day spent outdoors!!!

Starkey blueberry farm is nestled right of SR54 in the Long Leaf subdivision. Starkey BBF is a commercial and u-pick farm with great berries and beautiful scenery. It free to park and the berries are priced per pound picked. Of note, the do not weigh you coming in and going out so you can eat all the berries you want while you're inside!

The farm's entry fee was $14 per person, and the pumpkin patch was beautifully decorated, offering great photo opportunities. Beyond the Pumpkin Patch, Farm offers other activities for children to enjoy. These include interacting with various animals, participating in a hayride for a tour of the farm, and more. The farm also offers freshly made apple cider vinegar, which is perfect to try. On our visit, there were also chicken and pizza food trucks for lunch, making it easy to enjoy a meal while exploring the farm. We enjoyed our visit to Sweetfields farm, as it offered a variety of activities that the children particularly enjoyed.

From hot dogs, tacos, donuts, popsicles and pizza. We were not enthusiastic on drink options though, their wine was odd, sweet yet vinegary. I prefer more dry wines, but theirs was odd. Also, they did not have many options for kids... water and gaterade with food coloring. I would like to see more options without food coloring or even sprite (they did have Coca cola but I do not consider the kid friendly as it contains caramel coloring and caffeine). Other than that, they had a cute but difficult corn maze, lots of cute animals (cows, turtle, turkey and such), a small hayride, cute little games/activities. I do wish their store offered some honey or fresh jams and such but they did have lots of pumpkins (great for carving). Other than that it was a cute and fun place to go to with the family. We really enjoyed it.

Which I assume treehouse farm would be the partner farm. On instagram we saw beautiful farmland and huge yurt like tents as cabanas with the layouts described on the website. The website not having any photos should've been the first red flag. After making an over 2 hour drive from Orlando we are greeted by someone who had clearly already had a long day, asking us to sign waivers. We ask when the pizza will be served because we are incredibly hungry and it was going to be a hot day. They tell us after 1pm because the pizza comes from this amazing pizza place. We are told where the bathroom is and then led to our cabana. What a HUGE disappointment. It's a tailgating canopy with 8 seats and 2 blow up chairs even though it's advertised to sit 12. We were expecting an enclosed private space but we were just in a line of 5 other canopies the exact same size and decor. The only difference was the number of seats. We got to feed baby cows and they took Polaroids of the experience. That was pretty cool. We then got to feed animals and hold baby goats. That was awesome. Around 1:20pm the super Awsome pizza arrived. 2 dominos pizzas. Was this a joke? Dominos??? The pizza was cold and one of them tasted off. 5 minutes after we got the pizza we were asked if everything was okay and I said no, it's cold and it's dominos. The attendant stated that they got dominos because WE said we were hungry. And that they knew for a fact the pizza was hot because it was so hot on their arms. I was taken aback at the rudeness. The attendants then went to a different party cabana and spent most of their time there drinking alcohol with those guests and ignoring us. No one even wished me a happy birthday. What was supposed to be a full 11-5 day, we left at 2:30 it was so bad. I really hope Cowabunga refunds my mom her money. At least half if not more. DO NOT TRAVEL FAR FOR THIS "EXPERIENCE". It's only worth it if you live local and actually know what you're paying for. First photo is what was advertised. Other photos is what we got.
