Stargate takes great care of my dog, Jasmine (80lbs), while I am away. She is very finicky with her food and the first time I left her, she would not eat. The staff at Stargate took it upon themselves to get a rotisserie chicken so that she would start to eat again and feel better. Now I know to bring pouches of cooked chicken which the staff graciously mixes with her food for each meal. I also love that she gets one on one playtime with the staff and that they send photos everyday during playtime! Highly recommend. read more

After drama with our last daycare that my American Bully, Donut, has attended since she completed her last round of puppy shots, we made a quick choice to find a new daycare for her to attend. This morning I toured the first of four facilities we were comparing, and Cherie was transparent, professional, empathetic, and ultimately made me feel comfortable enough that I brought Donut in 30 minutes later to stay for her first day. They allowed me to observe her be temperament tested so we both saw the same things. They sent me photos (which I think they do daily!) which in addition to Donut currently snoring loudly next to me as I write this, are indicating that she had a great time. I think this smaller, family-owned business with almost 40 years of experience is a much better fit than the ritzy, overpriced, unreasonable daycare she had been attending. We will be back in a few days! Pros: flexible booking, affordable, small play groups (or individual if pup is not friendly), family-owned, individualized care, very clean, professional, multiple services offered, large premises with multiple areas, photo updates, was able to tour facility prior to booking, years of experience, passionate, heated floors, large kennels with private outdoor area Cons: weekends are boarding only- no daycare on weekends due to boarding being very busy, 9am drop-off is the earliest but is a little late for my schedule so I can only take her a few days a week read more

The customer service is subpar at that. I called Thursday to makesure they have room for 1 dog Friday-Sunday. Well, come Friday we couldn't leave that day. So, I called them to let them know we would make it in Saturday. Hubby went inside to drop my doggie off. The lady who was inside was like 'oh you're the dog that was supposed to come in Friday and pick up Saturday. No. That's not correct. I told the lady over the phone SUNDAY. I asked about pick up times for Sunday. What I do not appreciate is the snide remarks to my husband about drop off/pick up times. We will not be back. read more

Never take your pet to Stargate. My dog was not given her daily medication for dermatitis and when I picked her up she had 4 open sores with rock hard mats of hair and goo around each sore. I also paid extra for grooming and daily playtime . How did not one employee notice her sores? How did her meds get over looked? When I picked her up she stunk like the kennel,she had feces dried on her butt Nd these hard matted hair goo. What did I pay for? Also herbed was surprisingly clean and smell free for an 18 day stay. I don't believe she ever had it in her kennel at all. Oh and they sent pictures of the wrong dog to me and called her Abbie. So until I can get an itemized bill and some sort of resolution to my dogs pain and suffering and sub standard care I have stopped payment of my check. This was not the care I paid $558 dollars for. 30,of that was tip. And restitution for the additional meds from the vet for $250. Let them take me to court, I believe I have enough evidence of their neglect prove my case for stopping the check. I would not give any stars to them. read more

I don't know what we would do without Stargate Kennel. We have a 100+ pound Shepherd Mix named Jack and a 50 pound Pittie Mix named Roxie. Before adopting Jack over covid... we've always had Dog sitter's come to the house. That all changed when Jack became extremely territorial. I was so concerned how we would ever go on a family vacation again. Then a friend mentioned Stargate. Jack is so happy when he gets to go to the Stargate "spa" as we like to call it. He seriously looks happy when we take him. Our smaller girl Roxie is not as thrilled.. but knowing she can go and be in the same run with her big brother makes everything easier. The one on one play time is so great and the affordability is wonderful. The staff is always so pleasant and down to earth. We previously took Roxie to Dogtopia.. basically paid $600 for her to run around on her own inside a warehouse area and hide from the other dogs. Never again.. Stargate is the only place we will board our babies! read more

We have taken our Great Done to Stargate many times . This time he came home covered in poop. Dried all over his tail, in his toenails, etc. Before the brought him to me I said "was he good ?" They replied oh yes he was very good . Then they brought the wrong blanket . I told them and they said his was in the was, I asked if something happened they said he had an accident . I said I was wondering cause he has stuff on him . No one offered to clean him. I called the next morning and let them know our concerns. She told me next to let them know he has accidents and they'll groom him the last day for a fee. I said well I was unaware till now he has accidents , someone should have let us know. She said they have too many dogs to do that . I explained an accident shouldn't warrant a grooming fee and she said explained if you want him cleaned up after an accident it's an extra charge. Talking to others this is NOT normal for when you board your dogs ! So disappointed!!! Our poor guy. She offered to wash him if I brought him back, however he got a bath as soon as got home . He couldn't have walked around the house with poop on him !!!! read more

This would have been my 3rd time bringing my dog but I ended up cancelling my reservation due to the owner (a man) being very rude when I was asking a simple question about holiday hours. After that I asked him of his name, in which he refused but I proceeded to tell him that he was rude not once but both times I've spoke to him. read more

We have one grandpa poodle and 2 kitties that we take to Stargate now. We have used them several times this year so far and are well cared for and happy there. What I really love is getting the emails with pictures so that I can see that they are happy. It makes having to leave them somewhere a little easier. The poodle is always excited to go and extra energetic when we pick him up. He never smells or looks dirty like he has at other places. The kitties stay in a room away from dogs and get to get out of their condos every day...that is a plus when other places make you pay just to let them walk around out of the condo. It takes a special kind of people to run a place like this! Having adopted a rescue that sat in a kennel for 3 months with no one who even showed interest in her, we adopted Dory 6 months ago. Hence my apprehension to board her when we needed to go out of town. Leaving her a few days ago was like walking your child into kindergarten for the first time. I was SO worried. The staff was not only friendly, but amazing with reassuring me that she would be great. They sent pictures AND emails EVERY day! She was extremely well taken care of and I could not be more grateful. If you need a kennel that truly cares, this is the one for you. And definitely not as expensive as the other places that I thoroughly researched before making such a hard decision. $26 a day! They took amazing care of our dog and eased my every concern. I also LOVE that the owner lives on the property and does night checks on the animals. Seriously, if you love your pet as much as your child, this is the place to trust. read more

We have been using Stargate kennel for sometime. Overall, we have been happy with it although we have never had to pay extra for play time until now. In addition, they recently changed their policy so if you pick up your dog on Sunday you have to pay for a full night instead of just half a day. We went Sunday to pick up our dogs and there were five people in line. A woman, clearly a friend of the owner, came in with two dogs to board. The owner called for someone to get the two dogs and I agree with that. However, the person then proceeded to complete a form and butt up in front of everyone else and the owner asked her questions about the dogs baths, meals, play times, pick up times, etc. Then the "friend" left. Incredibly poor customer service. After her dogs were taken, she should have waited in line like the rest of us. My time is as valuable as anyone else's. The owner should have told her she would be accommodated when it was her turn. read more
