Paid the $65 deposit for a 2:45pm appointment- Called at 11am the same day to ask if we could reschedule for the same day at 12:30pm due to a VA appointment and the girl on the phone said sure thing see you soon. Showed up from a 45 min drive to be turned away and told they are keeping our deposit- wouldn't let us reschedule for any other time Girl said her boss which I'm assuming is "Jamie" told her no after the fact and we are just ass out. Terrible business practices. Hope yall are closed down tbh. I buy jewelry often and are always getting body mods. An update on the piercings- a month after I got the conch and upper lobes done, I got 4 piercings done elsewhere. I had a daith, double helix and 2nd lobe (other ear). The newer piercings are now closing in on two months of healing and I have had ZERO issues with the piercings done at the other studio. The starfire ones? STILL GET INFECTED or at minimum irritation bumps, and they're on the same ear as the newer double helix. This gives me further proof that my aftercare is fine, it's the piercings. Don't go here. Just drive the 30 minutes and save yourself months of oozing piercings. read more

This review is for the owner Jamie, and Jamie alone, because her counter staff members are stellar. I was so excited to get my nostrils pierced. As Jamie was piercing me, she spoke unprofessionally about her disdain for the mask mandates... a disregard for public health during a pandemic is NOT what I wanted to hear from someone who is actively making a holes in my body. But that's not the worst part. My left nostril piercing never sat right. It was a corkscrew stud that would literally slip down and saw back and forth from improper placement. It wouldn't even stay in place for two minutes. This caused me a lot of unnecessary pain. Two weeks in, I finally gave in and went back to Starfire, almost begging Jamie to help me fix it so it could heal. She was rude and spoke to me like I was an utter idiot, asking me to "show her how I put it in place" bc it must be my fault, right? She desperately tried to convince me that it was MY FAULT and that I just wasn't cleaning it properly , even though I told her it never sat right from the beginning. Not once. She refused to take any accountability for her mistake, and gaslit me so hard trying to convince me that it was my fault, not hers. After she sent me back into the world with no solutions and still in pain, I drove to Trend Kill in Redmond, and Jimmy helped me immediately. He politely told me that it was incredibly crooked and misplaced and he's right. He took it out for me and the relief was instantaneous. He said it was never going to heal properly. Jamie was perfectly happy to send me out into the world, knowing full well that it would never heal sawing back and forth like that, and she did NOT care. She had my money and that's all that matters to her. Just looked at the picture. It doesn't take a professional to see how SERIOUSLY crooked the placement was. TLDR: DONT go to Starfire. The owner was rude from the start, unnecessarily criticized my old piercings and jewelry. I had my cartilage pierced with a hoop which sounded great but it was getting hit by everything and should have been pierced with a stud. I was unable to remove it and had to go in to get it removed - I never would have let her pierce me with jewelry I was unable to remove myself, especially at the price. She was very unkind and not at all considerate about the pain I was in. She started handling my sore ear very roughly and when I told her to be gentle she replied "i'm trying to help you" very snarky. Do not recommend!!! Will not go back. read more

Honestly, they upcharge too much to not have decent customer service. It's one of the worst places I've dealt with, and it's such a shame because I was admiring their pieces for months. This place has really gone down hill. They nickel and dime you like crazy. I spent $1500 dollars on 3 pieces of overpriced jewelry and when I went to pick up my last one they decided to charge me an extra $200 saying the original price was just a down payment. They mislead me. This was never communicated when I payed. Also, after spending all that money, they wanted to charge an extra $10 to put it my conch jewelry. They are also frequently very condescending when they talk to you. And, the ear design service is not so. They do not design your ear. They just say, "You have to pick. It's your ear." read more

I took my 11 year old daughter for her first ear piecings today. She had been looking forward to this experience for years! The front desk employee was amazing. She was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. We were having a great experience until we went to the room for the piecing. Jamie ( the technician and I think the owner?) was obviously and verbally rude to our group who was there to support our family member. "She said, " I must have drawn the short straw today" when she noted that the Mom, Grandma and sister were there to support the young girl getting pieced. We tried to explain that our girl had asked for our presence, not that we needed to explain ourselves as we had paid over $200 for this 45 minute service. She continued to allude that our family member was nervous because she had too many people in the room; ridiculous. I'm so thankful that my daughter did not pick up on this toxic negativity that was being thrown at our party. Awful service. Had a nose piercing- for 190$ - had to take it out for a procedure and it was bent so sharply in the original piercing I could not get it back in. I went there for help and they said "you'll Need to do it yourself", handed it back and sent me on my way. 2 hours, and a nurse later I called them to say I couldn't do it, please help Me - and they said " we don't do that. Customer service is lackluster to say the least. Even even just asking regular questions when booking the appointment originally was pulling Hens teeth. Two days later Had an emergency family situation & was willing to provide emergency situation documentation, just so I could reschedule my appointment instead of paying for another fee. They were rude again and told me that I would need to to pay another fee. I get rules and regulations, but when your competition is nicer and they have better product ... at the end of the day, what sets you apart from them? DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I got my second lobes and a helix cartilage piercing here about a year ago. Like many others, I waited about an hour to be seen and she talked about how bad my first lobes were pierced and how they were so crooked that the second lobes would make the first ones look more off. Whatever they look fine. She pierced my lobes first with hoops and then talked badly about the jewelry I picked out from HER SHOP (it was the basic, cheapest pair). Then she does my helix also with a hoop. When she pierced it, I heard the "crunch" and was feeling lightheaded so she made on of her girls get me a juice box. She then said, "wow I've been doing this for blah blah years and you're the only one I couldn't tell was gonna pass out on me" to which I replied "I was fine until I heard the crunch". She then said "you can't hear your own ear"HUH??? IT IS LITERALLY A TALKED ABOUT FACT THAT WHEN YOU PIERCE CARTILAGE YOU CAN HEAR IT POP. Anyway, my helix has never healed and gets infected every couple months so I took it out and it closed and left a huge bump like scar. And the hoop made my ear permanently have a dent on the edge of it . As far as my lobes go on healing, my left side lobe still swells and is hard to get jewelry through as well as being crooked so I can't wear dangly earrings. GO TO TRENDKILL, they did my nose piercing beautifully and were much nicer. read more

Got my nipples pierced, thought it was great, had a lot of pain for a few weeks (thought it was normal) until my skin grew over the piercing and I couldn't pop it out, called in and stopped multiple times, and they told me I wasn't cleaning it properly. They never offered to look at it, and made me feel stupid when it was their fault. When my skin started healing over the jewelry, I went in right away, and they wanted to charge me more money for a longer bar (I paid $300 originally). They insisted that this never happens, but when I want to Trendkill in Redmond to fix it, the couple in front of us was there for another piercing-gone-bad from Starfire. Thank God for Trendkill in Redmond, they were so nice to me, gently popped the jewelry that was stuck under my skin, put in new jewelry, answered all of my questions, and told me they would've charged me way less than Starfire. Ordered an Item in October last year the package arrived with a knife cut through it, clearly it had been opened during the Christmas period and stolen. Fairly unsurprising as it was in a shiny package and they had done the thieves a favour of declaring to every single person that handled the package from the USA to Germany the price of the jewellery (in the region of 250 euros). After a multitude of emails assuring me they were doing something they have still not returned my money. I don't like slamming people here but this is a last resort. Despite reporting it to them in December they have failed to take responsibility and return my money despite their unbelievable incompetence in international shipping. Got my ears pierced here after getting surgery to close up my gauges. Took months to get me in. I go into get my piercing done for Jamie to tell me how bad all my other piercings look that I've had for years. She definitely acts like she's the only qualified piercer in the world. I ended up purchasing some expensive jewelry from the store to replace some old, low quality jewelry in my helix and tragus. I get home to change them, and they won't come out. So i call back and see if they can use the clamps to get these out, then have to wait another week. I prepaid for this service (even tho i already purchased jewelry through them). On the day of the swap out, Jamie tells me i didn't need to be there and acts like I'm wasting her time. She says i didn't try hard enough to get out my jewelry. When i get on the table she realizes that these are stuck and definitely did need special tools to remove. All the while she's giving a lot of attitude and telling me I'm the one with the attitude problem, despite being very quiet because I am uncomfortable and tired. I've worked customer service my entire life and I've never seen anyone act as self righteous and self important and mean to clients as her. At the end of the swap, they charge me 4x the price i was quoted and nothing i could do about it. Now it's time for me to swap out the jewelry Jamie put in, and those also won't come out and need a tool to remove. No way I'm paying $20 AGAIN to this business. Overall i spent probably close to $300 to be made to feel unwelcome, pushed to make expensive purchases, a nuisance and stupid. The other reviews are right, avoid this place. read more

Scheduled an appointment to replace lower quality jewelry. Came in, worked with a very nice person to purchase very expensive pieces, then was told the piercer wouldn't change my old jewelry out because it's bad quality. The worker asked the piercer if there's any way she'd help, and I got a call back saying no way with some attempts to describe how I can do it myself. I was hesitant about getting a piercing at Starfire after initially reading the yelp reviews, however, I ultimately decided to have my rook done. The wait time was a little longer than normal due to covid, but only because the proper precautions were being taken to ensure that everything was thoroughly sterilized between each client. The ladies there are so kind and knowledgeable, and my piercing and subsequent healing hurt less than any of my other 6 cartilage piercings. I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

I have been into Starfire more than a few times. Originally I was naive about piercings, so I took Jaime's advice and was spinning and cleaning my jewelry all the time. The irritation in my lobe piercings got worse and my industrial had huge irritation bumps. She told me to clean with soap vigorously (which if you know anything about piercing is outdated advice and not only prolongs healing, but can make irritation worse). She repeatedly told me my ears were "dirty" and that I must not be cleaning them at all. I even went in once where I had taken a shower not even an hour before, and she told me how awful and dirty my ears were, and no wonder I had problems with my piercings. I finally stopped taking her advice and left my piercings alone. I sprayed them with sterile saline once or twice a day and stopped rotating them. Surprise, surprise, all the irritation went away! Jaime is not a good piercer. I know from my own experience as well as having seen what she's done on others. Her placement is bad and she doles out terrible advice, and blames you for HER not having proper sanitation methods or using proper jewelry for fresh piercings. Don't even bother going here. The front desk girls are always at each other's throats, and everyone is rude and condescending. read more

My little sister and my cousin all came in today to get my nose pierced. The two girls at the front desk were super friendly and inviting towards us. There was a bit of a line so we expected to wait maybe 20 minutes. We ended up waiting over an hour. When it was finally our turn, the piercer was very unprofessional and cursing every other word she spoke.( mind you I have my 11 year old sister w me). My cousin asked the piercer a question to which she got a very nasty reply. Before we left my cousin also bought two gauges and we took them home. She got one of the earrings in fine and the other we tried to get in for so long but couldn't. She struggled so much her ears were bleeding. They gave her two different sized earrings. I tried to take my 9 yo daughter here today to get her ears pierced. She was so excited and it was a huge deal for her. We waited patiently while they helped others, and when it was our turn, a new employee, who was very sweet, pulled out her options for her initial piercing. While she was looking, the woman, who had initially greeted us, walked over and told us the wait would be three hours and we'd have to wait in our car in the parking lot. She explained it was because of our governor and Covid-19 protocols in a tone clearly demonstrating her disdain for these public health measures. While I tried to ask a follow up question about the wait, the woman put the earring container back into the cabinet and walked away. That was it. Honestly, this was one of the rudest interactions I've ever had in Bend. My daughter said as we were leaving that she no longer wanted her ears pierced. Thankfully, for social media, after a call out of this behavior, a friend suggested calling Hopscotch Kids that does ear piercings on the weekend by appointment for kids 5 and up. We will be taking her there next weekend, and I know this will be a much better experience. read more

I was told it would be 1.5 weeks to get a tragus piercing just switched out with a different piece of jewelry even - after getting the original piercing as well as new piece of jewelry from them.... & yes I tried multiple attempts even with hemostats on my own. Honestly an awful experience both times. Good selection of jewelry. Ends there. Do not go here. Drive to Redmond, drive to Portland, drive anywhere else. Wait times pre Covid were stupid long but now there's an excuse and the wait times increased. You watch as Jamie (piercer) finishes one client and then meanders around the shop for 20 minutes while 2 minutes of cleaning is done by the store workers that she's being nasty to. It also turns out, the store and Jamie are not the same business, or so they told me after my purchase. So if you buy something - which I did for over $200 - and you already have a piercing, good luck getting it changed!! They told me I could wait 2.5hours if I wanted it changed and they would try to fit me in. I ended up going to TREND KILL in Redmond and they changed it in 2 minutes and did it for free. So .... But the worst part for me, Jamie told me nose piercing for a stud and nose piercing for a hoop are put in two different places, so I let her pierce where she said it needed to be done for my stud. Now I'm told by other piercers that it's completely not true and my nose stud is higher than normal. Jamie seems like she' completely over it all and doesn't want to be there. And the way she talks to the store workers was a little cringy, tbh. I don't really write reviews but was inspired when I got home from today's piercings at Trend Kill in Redmond. I made an appointment. I was 20 minutes early. they were busy which is fine. however the clients they were assisting did not even know what they wanted. There were at least 5 people in the piercing room at the same time, talking super loud and being obnoxious (WHATVER not a huge deal). they stayed in the room for over an hour. And I waited and hour and half after my appointment to be assisted. when I was finally brought into the piercing room Jamie was extremely rude to me. I have FIVE face piercings already. She then told me she was debating if she even wanted to pierce me, complaining about my cheap jewelry (they are all stainless steel and have been doing great). She was concerned i would give her a bad review if the piercing wasnt straight, since it was directly next to another one, which she said was awful. mind you. this is my face. I told her it would not bother me if the did not align perfectly and she finally did it. All in all I was there for over two hours, just to be shit on by the tackiest woman I have ever seen for not being able to afford expensive jewelry. Also they tried charging me 20$ for saline spray. My friend has a piercing I love. I asked where got she it and she said Starfire. I don't live in or near Bend so I am visiting. It was about 10:30 when we stopped by hoping they might have an opening. We were greeted very nicely by Mikayla and i explained to her what I was looking for and she said yes Starfire could do it! I picked out the jewelry I liked and she held onto it for me. I asked to make an appointment and she said they were 4 months out, I told her I would have to let it go as I'm leaving early Monday morning. She then said let me get your information and if anyone cancels I'll call you. I was very hopeful! 3 hours later later she called and said that someone had just canceled and I could have the 3:45 slot I took it! Jamie the owner introduced herself to me and went into great detail explains ing what to expect and how to care for my piercing. She took great care in sanitizing her work area, her equipment and my jewelry. She clearly explained to me about the implant grade titanium and why it's so important to use. I Understand completely as I have had 2 knee replacements. The retail area is really nice and very clean. The bathroom is spotless. One star is generous. My wife bought some presented as surgical steel hoops here for $225, which is WAY overpriced in the first place, but OK, they were bought and I told myself it was worth it because she liked them and had some before that she wore for ten years every day ( I think she paid $50 for them). The new ones turned turned a gold color and infected her ear after a day of wear. I brought them back and politely asked for a refund being that they where not what we paid for. The counter girl, who was nice, told me that they don't do refunds and could only send them off for repairs. This would be at least acceptable if we had gotten what we paid for in the first place. Obviously giving a stock answer and unable to give me any explanation about the material, I asked the poor counter girl, who, it seemed has to screen complaints regularly, to speak to the owner. "She has appointments, and cannot see anyone." I saw the owner, who is easy to pick out, because I have seen her more than once in passing, getting into her Mercedes G wagon (hard to miss), sitting in the back not looking very busy and even looking at me as I am told she is too busy. The counter girl took my number and said someone would call me later in the day. I missed the call, as I was working. I went back in the following day when they opened and had NO customers in the shop and was given about the same response when asked to talk to the owner and told again that they could send them off for repair. I said that this would be fine if we had gotten the surgical steel we paid for and were actually told we were getting in the first place. ( how do you repair the wrong material?) She then told me that they were actually BRASS, ornamental and not meant to be worn every day !!!??? I saw I was getting nowhere and that the owner has insulated herself from having to deal with customer complaints (she is not even the one who called me, I found after the counter girl told me). I agree with another post I read here, after reading countless negative reviews, in saying that we have to spread the word about shady business practices, not allow people to be shamelessly ripped off with no repercussions, and shut down scum that would take advantage of hard working people who would bless a business with their patronage. I have never left a review for a place before but I am currently motivated to leave a very negative one for this establishment. I don't even want to get into the details but I made an appointment to get my nose ring replaced and ultimately had to wait almost two hours after my appointment time to be seen, while I am able to see and hear her chatting with a client she already pierced for over half an hour. The employees were lovely but the piercer and owner of the shop (Jamie) was greedy, inconsiderate, and arrogant. She talked a lot of smack about other piercing shops but I have never had such a horrendous experience at another shop. I would rather get pierced at the circus, which is a notoriously bad idea, than ever see her again. I spent more money than would have ever been necessary and am just incredibly disappointed with my experience and star fire as a whole. I have heard that it's really hit or miss on whether or not you have a good experience here. But I would argue that the only way you'd have a pleasant experience is if you have a spare $500 to burn or if the piercer decides that you're worth talking to like an adult. read more
