I called Starcrest Cleaners on Conestoga Drive in Springfield,IL on 10/12/24 @ 8 am inquiring about getting a suit pressed for Homecoming using their same day service. I called and spoke with Terry S who assured me if I had the suit to them before 9am it would be ready same day by 5pm. I rushed to drop the suit off and had it in their hands by 8:30am. Received my ticket that said same day service, in 10/12 and out 10/12 by 5 pm. As the day went on it got to be around 3:30 pm and I had not heard anything from them so I decided to reach out. Once I pulled the number up on Google the hours listed stated they were closing at 4pm?? How is that when my ticket in hand states I can pick it up by 5pm. I call the store and the women who initially checked me in answered the phone (I don't recall her name). When I proceed to ask the status of the suit being pressed she put me on hold for 10 minutes. I arrived to the store at 3:45pm, still on hold inquiring about the suit. I was told they didn't do same day pressing at that location. Excuse me! When I called and spoke with Terry S prior to dropping the suit off AND when I actually dropped the suit off I was reassured it could be done. I was told the lady that checked me in was new and she didn't understand the process. If that were true Terry S didn't understand the process either because she told me it could be done via phone. I asked if once it was figured out that it could not be done there same day why no one reached out to me so I could make alternate arrangements. Dead silence. No answers just a bunch of apologies. In the end the suit was no longer at that location and was taken to the West White Oaks location. I call that location and the guy tells me it can be done Monday. Absolutely not! The event is today in a few hours. Long story short the suit never got pressed. I had to pick it up and do it myself last minute. Terrible management, poor communication. I would not visit this location again for anything! read more

I had to use the Mcarthur location for four weeks while my new washer was backordered. I had a problem with machine #4 leaving clothes soapy, I had to pay to run the machine again without a pod on my dime. The employee couldn't help me. At the end of that cycle there was still suds on my clothes. The employee still couldn't help me. I went to another laundry mat , that machine worked just fine. I emailed the company and they said they would get back to me. They didn't. 10 $and three hours of wasted time. Save Your money and time go somewhere else where them machines work and the company cares. read more

Don't take your clothes here, they never come back the same. Whoever they have pressing these clothes (maybe a machine?) leaves creases that don't come out in nearly everything. When you wear custom clothes (or anything you spent your money on) it's definitely worth it to go somewhere better. read more

I just don't understand. I drop my shirts off, with the collar stays in the collar. I get the shirts back and the stays are missing. Gone. I spoke with the manager they put a note on my account. Tried again. This time the stays were in a bag attached to the shirts. If the "service" alters the shirts, can you please take the time to put the stays back in. Clean the shirts and deliver the shirts as they were dropped off. Too much? Not for other cleaners or businesses that care!! read more

Four weeks give or take before my wedding, I took my dress out because it had detectable cap sleeves that I wanted attached. I take the sleeves out of the bag and some how they got stains on them, VERY NOTICEABLE STAINS. I called starcrest cleaners and told them my situation. They were very honest with me about not being sure if they could get the stains out but agreed to try. The manager kept me very informed of their progress of what they tried and what they ruled out. He told me that there was one last thing they could try to see if it would work but that he wasn't very hopeful. I told him go ahead and try it as I didn't want to wear stained sleeves. What ever they did worked! And what I paid I considered very reasonable since they saved my sleeves!! Will definitely do business again! read more
