Playcade is a classic amusement arcade that opened in Atlantic City, New Jersey in the 1950s…read more Located on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, it is the city's longest established arcade. The arcade features a variety of both classic and modern amusements, including Ice-Ball (a variation of Skee-Ball), classic arcade cabinets, crane machines, rail-shooter games, pinball machines, and more. My family and I visited Playcade this past summer while we were on a road trip. I've turned my older son onto arcades in the past couple of years, and he was super excited when I told him that the Atlantic City Boardwalk has no shortage of them. We had visited the Lucky Snake Arcade a day earlier. That place is just HUGE, but I longed for a classic arcade experience and I knew that I could get that at Playcade. They had a nice mixture of old and modern games. The prices were pretty descent too. We played a few games of Ice-Ball and then my son and I enjoyed a few games of "Ice Man". The latter is a rail-shooter game where the players use mounted water cannons to shoot and freeze zombies. It reminded us a lot of "Plants vs Zombies", which we both love. Afterwards, my son redeemed all of our tickets for some fun prizes. Overall, we had a really nice visit. If you love classic arcades then you must visit Playcade!

Business is lucky our child wasn't seriously hurt…read more With the weather being so cold, my wife and I were looking for an indoor place to take or 18 month old. We came across Bette's, as it's right down the road from our house. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly and helpful front desk staff as it was our first time coming. They recommended us the toddler town area and said it would be the best fit for his age. In the beginning he was really enjoying himself and loved exploring all the different activities in that area. Out of nowhere, children that were much older than toddlerhood (1-3 years old) - Came in and started playing really rough, sprinting into the bounce area of toddler town, no concern for younger kids in that space. As our child was trying to navigate that bounce area in toddler town, a boy who looked to be about 5-6 years old, that we didn't know, as well as having ZERO parent supervision at that time, grabbed our 18 month old, slammed him down and held him on the ground. The child thought this was funny and laughed, as our son was screaming and crying trying to get out of the hold. It was at this point that my wife and I leaned over and had to holler multiple times to get this kid to let go of out son. Staff in the area just stood there, less that 6 feet away, like nothing was happening. If the area is for a certain age range, children above that age range should not be playing in that area for this reason. Parents need to keep an eye on their children. There needs to be better care and concern for the younger kids. Pretty bummed about the whole experience as its really close to our home, heard such great things and aren't sure if we will return because of this. Hope this helps.

It looks like your going to an office building. There's a small sign on the front door with the name of the place but i'm telling you slow down or you'll be driving round and round trying to find what's right in front of you! By far the BEST indoor play spot on the planet! I thought i had been to some pretty good ones but this one tops them all! A lot of them make you pay for each adult but here you only have to pay for your children and it's only $9! You can't beat that for a place where you can stay as long as you want and bring your own food! Just a quick note that if you want to bring a cake you have to rent out party space. Other than that you can bring your own food or have food delivered. They even give you a free game card with a few credits on it to try out a game or two. You can then pay to load it at the kiosh to play more games. They have literally everything a child's heart desires here! Just check out the photos. There's a separate area for toddlers and smaller children. I loved that I saw staff walking the floor all throughout the day to keep things tidy. If I was a child you'd have to drag me out kicking and screaming because i'd never want to leave!

Fantasy Island is a great spot for some family fun…read more My boyfriend and I came with family and some little ones. Everyone had a blast. Tons of great ride options for all ages. The workers on each ride also did a great job. This place turns into a whole party at night - they even had a DJ. The kids really enjoyed themselves and it was great to see so many smiles all around. We didn't try the arcade since everyone was so tired from all the outdoor fun. Definitely give this place a try when the kids are bored, lots of fun!

I was there today and left extremely frustrated and disgusted. I know this place is a money trap- that's not my issue. I loaded $30 each on my daughter's cards and $60 on my own. They went through that money so quickly and this was a big activity for spring vacation so I added another $30 each to their cards. So $60 x 3=$180.00. In all, we played maybe 2 hrs and all the money was spent. We tried to get the 9 Wizard of Oz cards from the machine, only to find out one is super extremely rare and you can play a whole game to get the one missing card if you want but the game seems impossible. My issue is the 3 female staff members who were at the check out desk talking to each other most of the time and seemed annoyed when we came to get the incredibly underwhelming prizes. Turns out my 9 y.o. Had like 19000 points and wanted this tiny nothing toy and a slime that retails for $7.99 on amazon but cost 18500 points there. In the end we were like under 300 short for both and I asked if they could possibly overlook the pts and the two women were so incredibly rude. I get it- you don't owe me anything, I was just asking- but don't be rude. I've had other staff do this when it's not many pts and they can see you've spent a bunch of money. So my daughter put back everything and just got the slime which she had more than enough points for and the lady hands it over all rude like she was doing us a favor and didn't even mention she had like 600 points left. There was one younger male employee who was super cool and helpful. A little kindness and engagement goes a long way. Games are overpriced and the fun atmosphere from the 80s and 90s is long gone. They only care about money. Won't be back there again. Even my 9 y.o. Walked out asking why the women had been so mean to her, even before I asked for anything.

This place is squeaky clean, super safe, and delightfully dry (as in, no alcohol allowed on the beach) The boardwalk has everything a family could want: pizza slices bigger than your head, fudge that defies logic, mini golf courses every 15 feet, and rides that are reasonably priced. There's no bar crawl vibe here--more like stroller parades, ice cream drips, and kids riding bikes 10/10, would sunscreen my kids here again.
