Place was pretty busy with many friends conversing over coffee. Saw the specialty drink of the day was a Hazelnut Mocha, so gave it a whirl. Coffee served in a traditional mug and we grabbed a table for the 3 of us. My Hazelnut Mocha was too sweet for me, but definitely warmed me up. We ended up staying longer than expected talking politics over coffees. So a good stop to warm up and chit chat.

One thing that struck me was the record player in the corner. At the counter they have the record jacket so you know what's playing. During our wait it was Lana Del Ray. The space is light and bright with large sky lights. There are plentiful cheerful, yellow chairs outside if you want to sip a latte and people watch. Several work-type meetings were taking place while we were there and it definitely seems like the kind of place to meet clients or get some work done. We found parking on the street easily. The guy who took our order was attentive and efficient. We also found some cool kombucha from Cultured Kombucha here that we haven't seen in the States. We had already purchased pastries elsewhere, but know that there are some tasty looking treats at the counter. Loved the vibe of this cafe and would come back in a heartbeat!

If I'm being completely honest with you, I've never really been the biggest Starbucks fan. I've…read morealways enjoyed their drinks but as a student, I just couldn't get behind their prices... But then I started visiting more of them. I began realizing that the atmosphere alone warrants a visit to Starbucks and the employees hired typically always have a wonderful attitude and are very attentive to detail. I mean, think about it, the baristas have SO many different variables that can go into a single drink and somehow they nail it every time! I've really enjoyed all of the drinks that I've gotten here (let's be real, holiday drinks are the BOMB) and next time, I'm looking forward to trying some of their food as well. Although this location might be small, it has a wonderful, homey feel and is located right in the corner of the Quadra Plaza (although it's a bit tucked away so keep your eyes peeled!). I'll definitely be coming back, whether that be to get a specialty drink or to hang out in some big comfy chairs and get work done. And as a reminder, thank your baristas! They spend all day on their feet, keep a smile on their face, and get everything right... I mean, everything but the name on the cup ;)

The staff are very friendly, the drinks they serve are always properly made and, unlike most Starbucks that I have been to, the blenders don't require the special attention of the baristas to shake out ice chunks (I no longer have to request that my frappucinnos be double-blended now that I frequent this location). The shop it self is nice and large with plenty of seating including a table shaped to accommodate wheelchair customers. The location of the shop, in a corner nook of the strip mall, also gives it a large patio with seating for many more patrons. One thing to keep in mind, if you are driving, is to try to avoid the upper lot. It has a limited amount of room and traffic flows in a one-way loop which makes it awkward. Instead park on the lower parkade level where there is always lots of parking and your car will stay cool and/or dry depending on the season.
