I had a great experience. The sandwiches and sweets were memorable! The teas were delicious. It was nice to be able to try different teas. We even bought a couple of bags of tea. Service and ambiance was wonderful!

Such a gem for a perfect afternoon tea! I visited Victoria on a cruise for a day and did afternoon tea with my family. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and left more full than we thought we would! The sandwiches were filling and delicious. All the desserts were not too sweet and went well with the tea, which there were many to choose from. The place was so cute inside and beautiful decorated which made it perfect for photos! I would highly recommend, it's worth the trip!

Staff were kind, atmosphere was so good, the wall art was gorg. We have a res for opening and we walked in, music playing and since we were the first ones there we chose where to sit. The teas were wonderful and the food was delish. We did have to take some home- we got the big muckle. I didn't realize I liked jam and scones until trying these!

We had high expectations when we made a reservation at the White Heather Tea Room. Victoria has so many amazing teahouses and the standard is definitely high. Unfortunately, this time we left slightly disappointed. The teahouse itself is in a pretty location, but the view from the front windows is just of the street and nearby houses. The interior is highly decorated and it was fun to see all the varieties of tea cups and tea pots displayed on the walls. We opted for the full tea service and they were very kind in accomodating a couple food substitution requests. They have a wide selection of teas, but once the tea was served we didn't get much information regarding how long it had been steeping (or if we wanted milk or sugar) and we guessed wrong and the tea turned out quite bitter. The savory sandwiches were nice - especially the ham pinwheel - but the dessert tier was lackluster. Each item was very sweet and without much other flavor. I opted not to eat most of the desserts and didn't bring the leftovers home. Service was nice, but felt a little rushed at times. I think it's a great spot for a princess tea, but other locations like Abkhazi Teahouse and Afternoon Tea at Butchart Gardens are a better bet for an authentic afternoon tea experience. I'm glad we tried it, but likely won't be coming back.

I'm so thrilled to have booked our lunch with White Heather Tea Room! This was the best first experience for my husband and me. The service is unmatched. The tier was top tier! The tea was delicious. The atmosphere is calming. The location is perfect. I'm so grateful for this experience even if it was about a 15-minute ride from the cruise port. I loved every sandwich on the second tier. And that shortbread cookie on the top tier is what buttery dreams are made of!

This is the fourth time I've been to this location and third review. I absolutely love this place. It's what a tea room should look like. The service is impeccable and everybody is in a great mood while they are there. The last time we were at the tea room was in November 2022. It is the first time that we've actually been during the summer months. What a great place to spend a portion of your afternoon having high tea and great pastries and little sandwiches. Our server was Sloan. Very nice young man. He wasn't at the location the last time we were there. He made it fun, though. He knows his teas and what they serve at the tea room. We had Darjeeling tea. It is lovely. Everything was lovely. The Big Muckle is $60 (Canadian) (and as of this writing about $45 US dollar a person) and worth every cent. We love this place and will keep going back!

What an adorable and delicious place. We were given a warm welcome as soon as we entered and were seated at a window table. Our server brought us the tea menu, and honestly, it was such a hard decision. I had the western berry and my husband had earl grey. The tea was piping hot and hit the spot on a cool day. We had the Signature Muckle for two and it was three levels of scrumptiousness. Hot scones with jam, clotted cream, and lemon curd, mini quiches, five kinds of out-of-this-world finger sandwiches and desserts that ranged from carrot cake, to lemon tarts, to chocolate mousse, to cookies, to crème brûlée. This was the first time we've had high tea and we're so glad we found this lovely little place. The service was top notch, the food melted in your mouth, and the tea was a great tummy warmer. Can't wait to visit Victoria (and the White Heather Tea Room) again soon. Thank you all for an amazing experience.

This place was amazing. It's cute and quaint and owned by a mother and daughter. The variety here was amazing and everything tasted superb, it's also more affordable than the empress. They also have two December tea specials and they were great as well. The Holiday Finale cream puff was out of this world amazing!!! My favorite of the sandwiches was the chicken and mint, a surprisingly delicious combination! I highly recommend coming here! They also have take away boxes in case you're here on vacation and want to take high tea home or want to do high tea but don't want to drag all the kids out. Also, the free parking lot is behind the building :)

I never write reviews but felt like I should write one for this place! I was visiting from the U.S. and afternoon tea was a must do for me. I looked up multiple tea places and thought I'd give this one a try because I liked the menu best. It exceeded all expectations. The food was all so, so good. You could tell it was all homemade. The amount of food filled me up. I actually got a to go box for my leftovers. The service was just as fabulous. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I definitely recommend this place.

Top tier of the Muckle Tea for Two. These were so pretty--and soooo delicious!

Afternoon Tea at The White Heather Tearoom was part of our 40th wedding anniversary celebration. When we honeymooned in Victoria 40 years ago, we missed out on the afternoon tea experience so this was a MUST-DO this time around. I was able to make a reservation online at their website and received an email reply early the next morning, confirming availability for the time l desired. At the time of reservation I requested the Muckle Tea for a party of Two, and as they requested on their form, notified them of an allergy to artichokes (not a common allergy, I'm sure. Based on the online photography at their welosite, the ambience and decor met expectations- it was light and airy, yet cozy and comfortable. The staff was welcoming and seated us immediately, and acknowledged/confirmed allergies, as well as our request for the Muckle Tea. Every single aspect of our experience was lovely from the beautiful presentation, the china teacups, to the flavors of our tea selections. My husband enjoyed the Angels Dream and I chose the Balmoral. Every morsel on the three tier tray was delicious and freshly prepared with great care and attention to detail. We both agreed it was an exceptional experience! I believe you would be hard-pressed to find a more lovely, or delicious afternoon tea anywhere else in Victoria.

Afternoon tea was delicious, the service is also excellent! Friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend mad hatter tea!!

RIP OFF - OVER CHARGED LUNCH PRICES I was there with my friend recently and was very disappointed on their choices of lunch menu options and prices! I ordered a very small sconewich (chicken and apple salad) with soup and my friend ordered a salad and to be charged $29 is incredible ridiculous. Menu said choice for dessert is "slice of cake/dessert bar/2 cookies" but we weren't offered a choice, waitress just bought out a small roll cake and 1 shortbread cookie. I used to come for lunch and loved their menu with options like crepe or quiche! Unfortunately I will not come again until you have a better menu option.

Bites of below standard high tea.

It can be a bit spendy as it starts at CA$109 per person before tax and tip - at least for me I allocated the entire $100 USD dining credit with the Amex fine hotels and resorts benefit on this. Reservations are almost mandatory for weekend and I'm glad I made one just in case, although it was rather risky due to the 48 hour cancellation policy if I fly in the morning of, but it worked out. They're strict on time - I made a 12pm reservation and they refused to seat me even though it was not busy at all at 11am opening and made me wait until exactly 12pm. A bit harsh when I contacted the hotel and made a note to the restaurant for my arrival details. I got the traditional afternoon tea for 1 so just tea and 3 tiers of scones, small bites, and desserts. It was quite nice of them to refill the entire tier of savory small bites even though I only requested 3, so that was a nice touch that somewhat made up the poor first impression. You can request more of certain items for free, just don't abuse the system basically The food with the 1 tier refill was more than enough food for me - the service was decent as they checked up on me during the meal. I nicely asked for the tea gift box that is only reserved for anniversaries and they accommodated, but this will almost unlikely happen in many situations so your mileage may vary. I did wait 20 minutes for the gift box as it wasn't a priority for them, so do what you will to see if it is worth the time (I at least was not in a rush)

At the Pendry Tea House, one does not merely have afternoon tea; one boards a doomed vessel,…read morecrosses the boundary of good sense, and descends, Virgil-less and increasingly dehydrated, into a minor but memorable circle of Dante's Inferno. More specifically, the experience recalls Canto XXVI, when Dante encounters Odysseus in Hell: the great voyager whose final journey is not wisdom, but overconfidence, misdirection, and wreckage. Pendry offered much the same voyage, except the sea was tannic tea, the ship was a sun-blasted room without air conditioning, and the wreckage cost 167 Canadian dollars. The setting was the first sign that we had passed through the gates. Rather than being seated in a calm or elegant space, everyone seemed shoved into the same glaring, sunlit room, where the lack of air conditioning turned afternoon tea into a slow roast. It was less refined Victoria tea service and more waiting room in the eighth circle: hot, crowded, and airless. If Dante had needed a modern architectural metaphor for Hell, this room would have done nicely. Then came the vegetarian meal, each course another island on the journey, each landing bleaker than the last. The bread was dried past redemption, as if abandoned on shore long before we arrived. The scones were burnt in a way that suggested not rustic charm, but open hostility. The cucumber sandwiches were the most haunting stop of all: barely two slices of cucumber, no discernible spread, and all the lushness of a moral allegory about scarcity. As for the vegan option, it was so dry that the Sahara might have sent a cease-and-desist for reputational damage. With each bite, another member of the culinary crew seemed to be left behind. The tea itself was somehow worse, which is especially impressive at a tea house. Silk Road should strongly consider pulling any association they have with this establishment, because the staff appeared not to know the steep times for the teas on their own menu. At a tea house, steeping guidance is not ornamental; it is the rudder. Without it, the whole voyage is already lost. The jasmine green tea tasted less like jasmine flowers and more like someone had steeped the dirt from beneath a jasmine bush. The tannic overload was so severe that I had to order a Coke simply to exorcise the taste from my mouth. It was the kind of bitterness Dante might have reserved for fraudulent counselors: those who know the language of refinement but use it to lead others into suffering. The masala chai, meanwhile, was so weak that I do not think even someone with IBS would have found it threatening, though perhaps that is too generous, because visually it resembled the brown water left behind by data farms in AOC's mason jar. The rich golden color one expects from chai was nowhere to be found. To their credit, they did swap it for a breakfast blend, but that tea, too, arrived with no instructions, no steeping guidance, and no follow-up. No one came by to ask whether the teas were good. We had to inquire ourselves. The service completed the allegory. When the trays of pastries were brought to the table, they were not presented so much as dumped upon us, as if they were refuse--which, surprisingly, they largely were. No one explained what anything was. At other tea services in Victoria, such as Butchart Gardens, there is pride in presentation. There, the staff arrived equipped with a baton and explained each item with care and ceremony. Here, our questions seemed to be treated as trespass, as if curiosity itself had violated house rules. We were not guests being guided through a service. We were passengers who had made the mistake of asking the captain where exactly he was taking us. The finale was fittingly infernal. After removing the first of two trays, the staff disappeared for over thirty minutes and only returned with the bill after being prompted. For two people, an 18% gratuity had already been included, which perhaps explains the total absence of incentive to provide anything resembling attentive service. Like Odysseus urging his crew onward while knowing only his own ambition mattered, the house had already secured its reward. The rest of us could drift. Hell may have no fury like that of a woman scorned, but should you wish to experience the particular fury of being packed into a hot, sunlit room without air conditioning, then served dried bread, burnt scones, cucumber sandwiches without dignity, tea brewed beyond recognition, and service conducted as though hospitality were an imposition, by all means book a table at the Pendry Tea House. At 167 Canadian dollars, it is less an afternoon tea than a guided descent: a voyage past taste, past comfort, and past the last known boundary of hospitality.

Service is fast and the staff is friendly. We had the below items and can't wait to be back to try more on their menu. It seems they do refresh their menu quite a bit and the current menu is definitely bomb! 1. Hong Kong style Pork Sandwich - 12/10, amazing favors, very nicely done! 2. Savory Poptart - 10/10, light, flake, buttery, melt in the mouth 3. Mandarin Day Dream from their Signature Drinks - Drink of my dreams. I will dream of it until I can have it again and I hope they do not drop it from the menu until then. Such a innovative and well balanced drink - 20/10, must try!! We need you here in the U.S. Whoever is dishing out these creative menu items (signature drinks & the sandwiches) needs a raise!

hey happy has chill vibes from the moment you walk in. exposed brick, big front windows, and fun…read moretiered wooden seating give it a cosy but open feel. there's a steady rhythm of quiet chatter and keyboard tapping, lots of beanies and toques, plenty of laptops out, and a young hipster crowd settling in for long stretches. i grabbed a table with a little card that read "sanitized," which was a small but appreciated touch. i ordered the apple pie matcha, house apple pie syrup, ceremonial grade matcha, topped with cinnamon sugar dust. honestly, i wasn't a fan of the apple pie syrup. it leaned a bit artificial, sweetened with honey and overpowered the drink for me. that said, the matcha itself tasted good, but subtle, smooth, earthy, and decent quality. temperature wise it was more on the tepid side than properly warm, which didn't help. i'd probably try their strawberry matcha latte next time. i also got the hashbrown with herb mayo and added a soft poached egg. it comes as a tiny square, hard and crunchy on the outside with a solid crisp. when cut into, the yolk was cooked nicely with a soft jammy ooze that coated the hashbrown. the herb mayo added a creamy, savoury boost and brought extra flavour to each bite. overall, hey happy is a solid place to hang or work for a few hours. great seating setup options, relaxed atmosphere, and a crowd that makes it feel effortlessly cool.
