I hardly drink coffee or anything with caffeine in it, but lately I have been hankering for one. I blame my bosses for giving me a gift card that I used to frequent many times in 2006. A gift card opened to many gates to a place I try to avoid called Starbucks. This past week, I believe I have visited this location about 2-3 times each morning. I have my Cape Cod to drink during my quiet times and now I have a Venti White Chocolate Mocha ($4.55). At approximately 7:20am, I am here. If you see me and I pay by mobile app, then most likely that is yours truly. You can ask for my Yelp Signature if you want. This place is a hotspot for me. I have seen colleagues I haven't seen in a long time. I even bumped into a City Official and even chatted for a bit before I realized I was late for work. Dang it Starbucks, You sucked me in. Sorry, I can't be detailed about this review, but you converted me into an addict. Now, I believe I have to visit every morning and get a Venti White Chocolate Mocha. First review of 2014: This is what happens when corporate Starbucks tries to gentrify this ghetto-ass place. No quality control or sense of urgency at all. I was in line for more than 15 minutes and they were constantly remaking people's drinks because they screwed up the first time. The quality of people were also not the best. I do not like leaving bad reviews, but I am tired of the service here. Every time I order through the app I encounter problems. Again today, I walk up to the counter and ask if my mobile order is ready (7mins since I ordered). The gentleman said no it was coming right up. So I waited patiently because it was busy. However, I noticed people who came after me and order through the register received their order. I then ask again (20 mins have passed) if my order was ready he then hands me over my order. I had ordered a cloud macchiato and at that point the foam was pretty much gone since my order had been sitting there. It was really upsetting because that always happens. I ask if my order is ready they say no only for it to have actually been ready. I'm just glad this is not the only place to get coffee. read more

I've been trying to keep it inside, but I cannot anymore. This Starbucks location is absolutely horrid. It's literally across the street from where I live so I've been stopping there almost every morning before work. However, I've made a conscious decision to go down to The Coffee Bean on Ventura instead, simply because of the awful service I've experienced. Rarely have I encountered an employee that actually seems to enjoy their job, or at least pretends to. No one is ever smiling, which is bizarre to me because if I worked with my favorite beverage in the world I would be downright giddy. Furthermore, it's a 50/50 chance that they'll mess up my order. I speak loudly and clearly so I know they hear exactly what I say. But even on the slowest day, my Skinny Vanilla Latte will become Hazelnut, or my Quadruple Venti will become a Triple. And since I'm usually in a hurry to get to work, I don't have time to stand around and have them fix it. So I leave in a huff, hoping they'll get it right the next time. read more

One of the worst starbucks in the valley in terms of slow service, bad parking situation and cleanliness, just my luck that this is my nearest Starbucks location! I wish that Starbucks was able to be more consistent- this location is the perfect example of what is wrong with expanding too fast! The staff is never trained well or speedy, you can tell this is just a job for them! there was one memorable morning that I can cite to illustrate this fact: I went in to this Starbucks at 7:15 am, attempting to reach UCLA via the 405 by 9 am. I stood in line behind four or five people most of whom were ordering stuff that isn't even caffinated (I wish they had a seperate line for people who need caffine, for whom starbucks is as vital as breathing!) and ordered my latte at 140 degrees so it wouldn't scald my tongue as I guzzle it on the freeway. I stand beside the counter, waiting for the stoned looking barista to make my latte and notice that one cup is sitting there for two minutes, three minutes, five minutes, while the people who were behind me in line are leaving! I say something along the lines of "if that's mine you best put a lid on it so I can get the f$*! out of here" and he puts a lid on my drink. As I'm walking out, I realize he steamed the milk to 160 and left the lid off so it would cool. This infuriates me, but I resist the urge to turn around and throw it on him. read more

The parking at this location is decent if you visit on the weekends when many of the businesses are closed or substantially slower. No drive thru - the cafe area is always busy. The baristas are not friendly. They also do not make the shaken drinks (iced tea lemonades) correctly. They are also extremely messy. Their counters are always wet with water, tea, milk, etc. They also often forget about your warmed food items if it is busy. Also - their online ordered drinks are always made immediately when you place them so they most likely will be cold (if it's a hot item) or warm with melted ice (with a cold item). read more

This is my closest 'Bucks and I have no complaints, really. I always order the same thing (Tall Skinny Caramel Latte) and they always get it right. There's a nice little outdoor seating area with umbrella-covered tables, where I enjoy a sip and a read from time to time. (Granted, there's usually at least one homeless person holding court.) It's not the best coffee shop ever, but it's definitely not the worst. Since this particular Starbucks is within walking distance of my house, I'm REALLY glad it's not on the 2008 store closure list. Out of all the starbucks i go to and i go to a few because i am in school and use it to study. This one is not that great. The seating and stuff is nice they have a few tables and handy outlets for to charge your phone or laptop. This is why i am giving it 2 stars instead of one. The bad is They water down all their drinks to much at this location. When you get tea and or coffee and even hot chocolate, it's watered down! The staff seems to have a little hint of attitude as well not only slightly. If you need to use the place to study like me and get out of the cramped dorm room well this is a ok spot but if you want a full flavor non watered down drink go to another starbucks. read more

I love Starbucks. Usually get the passion tea lemonade, green tea (sweetened), or the green tea latte. The service was fast. Also, if I'm in the mood for food, I get the roasted tomato mozzarella panini. My only problem with this and every other Starbucks is that they turn their oven off before they even closed so you cant always get a toasty panini. Updated: So I'm here at least 10 hours a week working on my music, coaching business and school. This location has stepped it up. The service is here is exceptional and the staff has improved a lot. Definitely get great service from the others such as Kim, Danielle, and savannah. If they're even still here lol. Anyone else I forgot I probably just don't remember your name :). The whole team their is pretty solid now. They keep it pretty clean there and there's a good group of regulars hanging out that makes this place that much more cozy. This is not my regular Starbucks, so this is just on my first and only impression. It was a pretty busy day, a long line when I came in. The two women at the registers worked super well together to expedite those of us in the line. However, it still took a long while for my drink, because they were taking orders so much faster than the drinks could be made. I had time to use the bathroom (which was in good order, I should mention) and still waited about 10 minutes. There seemed to be some incorrect drink orders too, which added to my wait, but I couldn't really tell if it was the barrista's fault or just some sassy-picky-bitchy-entitled customer, which one of the two issues seemed to be. It's okay. Nothing spectacular. Parking is a pain in the neck. the parking lot is small and the spots are only wide enough for compact cars. This Starbucks is tiny inside and always full/busy with customers lounging using Wi-Fi. Nevertheless, the employees work fast in here but the store is just in a terrible location and it is so difficult to get out of the parking lot onto Sherman Way. Watch out for road rage. This is a terrible location for Starbucks. I don't think i will come back here just for this reason. read more

Let me begin by saying that I have previously worked at Starbucks and Coffee Bean over the course of the last 7 years so I know a good store when I enter one. The good stores are clean, merchandise is abundant and organized (the District Managers always place more products in the "better" stores), the customer base looks content (if not happy), and most importantly the team members have a little pep in their step (I am not talking about overly friendly, just a smile will do). This Starbucks met all of the look criteria that I want in my coffee shop. To top it off, the staff are amicable, not over-the-top friendly, and they didn't screw up my drink which was a tall soy cappuccino (I hear lot of excuses from baristas about how difficult it is to get soy milk to foam - sorry Mr./Ms. Barista, that's what your company is paying you to do!!!) read more

I love this specific location; however the parking situation can get a little hectic. I've watched many people who are too busy to care of others come out of Starbucks and almost hit people or other cars. The outside seating has umbrellas to protect you from the Valley sun, and there is a lot of inside seating if you just want to be a beatnik. read more

I live in Northern California, and a friend of mine who works in Van Nuys was having a bad morning, so I called this Starbucks location to see if they could deliver a much-needed vanilla latte to my friend. The manager, Peter, was SO friendly and accommodating--totally above and beyond. He said that since they were short-staffed, he couldn't help with my delivery request, but he was happy to have her vanilla latte ready to go for her. It is not often that a major corporation steps up to recognize the value of true customer service, but Peter did that and then some. As far as I'm concerned they are one of the best Starbucks in the San Fernando Valley. I love the caramel brulee latte that is seasonal and discontinued. So what do they do mix together the things that make it's so awesome in order to satisfy my coffee craving, lol. And they succeeded on multiple levels. I love these people. This is a very small shop with just a couple outdoor tables for customers. The batistas are friendly. There's not a lot of foot traffic, maybe because of COVID situation, but I have never had to wait more than a couple minutes for my turn.
