I am not going to post any photos as you know what every Starbucks looks like. Service was quick and curious as uszh, responsive to my request. When asked if I needed anything else I asked for the lock code for the bathroom...this was new to me. I guess there are a lot of transient folks in The Dalles. She won't it down and off I went. I did my business and reached around for a courtesy flush and omg...no flush. I couldn't just leave my pooh-pourri floating so i started to panic. Then..hey what would you do at home. I pulled off the top and it was a weird set up but I got it sorted and fixed the plumbing then washed my hands three times. Exited, grabbed my coffee and hit the road...3.5 hours to go. read more

Normally, I would never bother to take time to complain about a Starbucks or fast food in general, but this store was insanely slow and rude. We waited in line for 25 minutes. I honestly would not have minded waiting if somebody would have told me so I could have made an informed decision. Rude Employees! Will not give out the bathroom code without a purchase. Needed to use the restroom before ordering but was refused the code. Unbelievable! Absolute worst customer service! I went in with my child who needed to use the bathroom and the people REFUSED to provide the bathroom code until I bought something. Which I get that there is a huge homeless problem, but obviously I am not homeless and I am flabbergasted that the staff and manager don't have common sense about who is utilizing the bathroom. Have always had great service here. When I'm in Hood River, which is often, I sometimes take the ride to The Dalles where they have a Fred Meyers, Petco, Staples, Sherman Williams, Dollar Store, JoAnn's other stores that sometimes require a trip. This Starbucks is conveniently located in this area so I have stopped in for an Americano, an iced mocha, and recently a pumpkin spiced latte. Service is friendly and prompt. Bathrooms are clean. And when you can sit inside, the seats are super comfy. They have tables, chairs and umbrellas outside in the sidewalk. There is plenty of parking with easy access on and off the main road to I-84. Generally speaking I love going to a Starbucks because I know that drinks and they usually taste the same no matter where in the world you go. There were maybe 5 or 6 employees working this afternoon (after 5 pm) so I generally wouldn't think it to be terribly busy. We were next in line to order and the guy taking orders inside walked away and never came back. My husband complained out loud, "Anybody taking orders in this place?" Somebody said, "Sorry, we are all filling orders." Si my husband asks, "Is there another Starbucks that will take our order?" The kid began to tell us all the other Starbucks in town that we could go to! Finally another employee apologized and took our order. I started to pay and she apologized again and said the order was on her. Now that's customer service! Being from Seattle we are not use to being treated like this in a Starbucks. BATHROOM CODE - 78925 This location has the rudest employees out of any Starbucks I have ever been too . I am in sales and am a frequent Starbucks purchaser as I bring coffee to my clients on a daily basis. I stopped at this location and needed to use the restroom urgently as I had been driving for 3 hours prior to stopping at an office in the area to whom I was going to purchase and bring coffee too. I am also pregnant so when you need to go, you NEED to go. I walk in and ask the barista at the pick up area for the code. She very loudly yelled at me that she does not have it, only the register barista. I walk over to the register and hear the cashier very rudely telling the gentleman in front of me that you need to make a purchase first before they will give the code which is fine but did not require the disrespectful nature of his communication. I made my purchase to which the cashier continued to speak in an incredibly rude manner to me even though I didn't ask for the code bc I already heard it from the previous customer. I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

I figured I'd update my review of this location since my last one years ago! It has been my go to in the last couple years and I don't have any complaints. Service is warm and friendly. Clean and organized inside. I don't much get food from there but when I do it's usually the sweet pastries. The only reason it's 4 stars is because Starbucks as a whole can improve on their food choices as far as the savory options go. Not much as far as flavor. I asked the staff to replace an over heating dry croissant. Shortly after the store manager confronted us to complain about the presence of our service dog. The manager insisted the dog must sit quietly, which was the case anyway. The manager then left us and called The Dulles police. Basically a Starbucks manager weaponized the local police against us because we complained about a dry croissant. read more

This store has had a lot of manager turnover, previous management not being great HOWEVER the management from 2021 until now seems to have really turned the store around. Friendly and fun baristas who are knowledgeable about their product and the quality of the drinks are delicious. They consistently tell you if they have to remake a drink based on bad shots, or bad cold foam, and make sure to hand out a good product. Great to improvement! Definitely the best Starbucks in the area and better than most of the other local coffee shops in town. read more

Finally!! An official Starbucks in The Dalles! Heart. Melted. So here is the skinny: this location just opened this month (March 2014) and it is super shiny and pretty. The most modern tables and shelves and decor. I really do love it in here and it makes me feel like I'm home in Portland. So if you love Starbucks.... This is as good as it gets. Even though it's new.... The baristas made me a flawless latte and had my breakfast sandwich to me in a jiff. These guys are gonna give the Dutch Bros down the road a little more competition. Not all Starbucks are created equally. Yes - the coffee is pretty much the same at each one, you can find one on almost every street corner in the city, etc. It's the staff they hire, the experience created that makes a person coming back for more. I am from out of town and I left my computer charger there by accident. I panicked! I use my computer for business all day, most days. I called and the manager answered. She let me know they had it and would ship it back to me if I called and setup shipment details and payment with a nearby UPS store. My charger arrived the next day. Great coffee, consistently friendly service and outstanding drive through in my many visits. I would have given a 5 star, but I continue to have "good" not "great" service when going into the shop at the front counter. The service often feels disjointed and unfocused given distracted register staff. As a Starbucks gold member, I regularly visit Starbucks around the US and internationally and each store usually has its own "connected vibe" with its customers when you enter, my sense is this site is still figuring that out. Terrible service. If you make a mobile order, expect it to be lost, I'm 3 for 3 on lost mobile orders here. When it DOES come, it's often the wrong order. Love this Starbucks and the crew! They are friendly, remember your name, strike up a conversation and get to know you. It's always busy, so I've learned to use the mobile app and pre-order and I love that my order is ready when I arrive. If your drink has been waiting too long, they will remake it. Their Manager is adamant that every drink is made properly or they will re-make it at no charge. They are a fun crew and it's a highlight of my day to stop in and say hello. Worst Starbucks EVER! After having to talk them through my drink for the 3 rd time I finally get it. The hand it to me through drive through and it is so full it's dripping out the top. By the time I get around the corner the lid pops off and it spill all over my car. I have to go inside and fix a problem that never should of been. How do they fix the problem by dumping some of it out, which happens to be the quad shots I just paid for. They literally put the lid back onand hand me some napkin. What terrible customer service. They could of apologized at the VERY least and made me a fresh drink. Instead I know have a sticky cup and car not to mention didn't get the extra ice I asked for and there is over an inch of Carmel at the bottom. Totally disgusting!!! read more

I stopped at The Dalles Starbucks on my way through town for a coffee refill and quick bathroom stop. The bathrooms were filthy and out of toilet paper. I let the staff know and they didn't seem to care. Furthermore, it took 10 minutes from the time I put in my order for my drink to be done, plus around 10 minutes spent in line before they took my order. When my drink was finally done it was made incorrectly- I could tell as she was setting it down and asked that she please add more creamer. She added more but also threw in a snarky comment. Not a fun stop and I ended up having to go to the taco time to use their restroom (which was surprisingly very clean!). Next time I'm driving through The Dalles and need caffeine I'll go to Dutch Bros. read more
