Customer service is almost always an issue at this store. Most recently, Saturday June 7th at approximately 7:00am we stopped in for a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich. After ordering a Venti for my wife the young lady asked if I wanted a Venti as well. When I said yes please, I never order anything but a Venti, she said ok... "well you ordered a grande". That's something you never want to do in customer service, contradict the customer. When I explained to her that I simply ordered a decaf latte, not specify size she double down and again insisted that I had ordered a grande. Flabbergasted, I asked her if she really wanted to sit and argue the point or if she would like to just stop insulting me to which she mumbled something under her breath and turned and walked over to a supply as if she had something else to do. I am certainly not a customer that believes the customer is always right, or expect anything above and beyond ... but I do expect not to be argued with and not be told thatI am lying. It's enough for me for you to simply take my order, smile, and then make my drink. After all of this my sandwich was like warm which I know is not a likely outcome with the ovens Starbucks uses. It makes me wonder if it wasn't a snarky retaliation for me standing up for myself. It is what it is I suppose. read more

Shelbyville Starbucks is almost the absolute worst Starbucks I've ever been to because of one barista that just won't pay attention once anyone familiar is in line. If you're on a time crunch drive to Simpsonville Starbucks or forget it!! This Starbucks is located inside my local Kroger store. Last week I couldn't locate my Kroger ad at home. When I arrived at Kroger I got my motorized shopping cart and then picked up an ad to check out. Due to handicap parking availability I parked at the opposite entrance than I normally enter. Upon entering the store I spotted Starbucks and decided this would be the ideal addition to a cold day. So rather than drive my cart, check the ad, pick up groceries and drink my coffee I decided to park out of the way, turn off my cart and enjoy a hot brew while writing out my grocery list. This store removed all self-service cream, half & half, and all sweeteners. If you want these you must request them from the already harried and overworked counter staff. Absolutely NOT worth the trouble. This Starbucks needn't worry as they will never see another nickel from me. Poor service on a mobile order - maybe not so much the folks working there as the order process they were trained to follow. They didn't have the iced English breakfast tea I mobile ordered nor did they know what extra cream meant in a regular coffee which was, by the way, lukewarm and pumped out of a thermos - sad excuse for a Starbucks. Next time I'll drive a few miles further down the road and hit up a real deal Starbucks store front instead of relying on the grocery store option. My bad. read more

I'm really unsure of why I keep coming back here. Maybe because this is the only Starbucks I know about here in Shelbyville...then again I am new here so there could be others. Anyways, every time I go I wonder if these are just untrained Kroger employees rather than trained Boris does. Every time I go the place is a complete mess and the employees act and make my drink as if they don't know what they're doing. For an example, my Frapps are never frozen but rather slushy and I only get one dibble of whip cream. It's almost like a generic Starbucks drink. I'm pretty sure I can make this at home. This Starbucks in conveniently located inside Kroger, so I can get a treat while I shop! As far as coffee goes, it's Starbucks, so it tends to lean towards the side of ok. At this location, depending on the barista, it can range from great to not worth paying for on some days, but, for the most part is fair to middlin'... and service is usually pretty swift, even when they are swamped. They have a small selection of branded goods and their usual hot sandwiches and such, as well as a few branded odds and ends. read more

This is my favorite Starbucks by far!! Jon is great,Sam! They all are actually! This store makes my coffees better than any other Starbucks I've visited. I will continue coming here unless something huge happens, but I'm not expecting that. I truly hope the employees make a decent wage for the amount of work they put in here. This Starbucks has been mediocre at best until this past spring when the most friendly, customer-centered, barista was hired. She is a cut above the norm and makes EVERY interaction an absolute joy. Best Shades I Have EVER Owned. Hands down. First off, I bought these when William Painter was doing a lightning deal through Amazon for right around $100 which was a very good price. Still at $165 I would definitely buy these sun glasses. I've owned a few different pairs of Ray Bans (Wayfarer and Aviators) but the quality of The Level is outstanding. I waited about a month before writing a review because normally within a few days of owning a new pair of shades, something happens where one of my kids knocks them off my head and they are instantly scratched on the lens/arms. Of course, no different with this pair were they knocked off my head and onto the cement but to my surprise, NO scratch on the lens and NO scratch on the arm. The feel of these guys is pure strength. No joke when they say Titanium grade. I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of these glasses. 5/5 for sure. I was unsure of the look when I first purchased these shades, but upon opening the box and throwing them on, all my doubts were gone. Have had several people complement them and ask about where I got them. I use them every day and after a month they still look brand new. 5/5 for style. Finally, have to give these guys props for the lens. After a month of daily use, no scratches. Very good quality and very strong feel to the glass. These are not cheaply made glasses. You definitely get every cent you pay for with these guys. Also, customer service seems to be great. Haven't had any first hand experience but received an email from the owner of the company and $25 off towards my next order with the promise of writing a review. Have to give William Painter a 5/5 and definitely will be buying another pair in the future. read more

Just was in there. Asked for two medium pour overs to get a dark roast. Eight staff behind the counter, two of whom were standing there sampling drinks. After twenty min asked the one employee who was working where our drinks were. Saw them sitting there to be poured. He got one of the girls who had been drinking samples to get it ready. After some confusion she gave us the drinks which were lukewarm. Get a competent manager! read more

1 star just doesn't seem fair for this Starbucks, if only I could rate it zero or negative even, that would be the more appropriate rating that it deserves. I know being a barista isn't easy and I know the food service it's self isn't easy as I myself have been in it for quite some time, but I will say it isn't hard, if you at least have a smidge of common sense and self awareness. The employees on the job today when we waited on our simple order of two drinks were more than out of their element, they were completely and absolutely just pathetic. Trying to be as understanding as I could possibly be, I couldn't help but notice they showed little to no effort in getting EVERYONES prefers done in a timely and reasonable fashion. These two employees showed absolutely no sense of time management and prioritizing their customers opposed to others tasks that could have waited.
