With only a few orders the service at this Starbucks moved at a glacial pace, with a single person slowly making drinks, while the other two filled napkins and cleaned. The location is plastic free since it's within SFO (which has a plastic ban) but unfortunately paper straws don't hold up well with blended frappe drinks, so I'd recommend customers forego them if they can. All in all, I so rarely get Starbucks at baggage claim and the service was so slow that I just don't see myself returning. read more

SFO is so confusing and huge to me yet somehow I've always managed to find a Starbucks! Lol as my son and I walked in from the parking garage we both remembered they're being a Starbucks on the other side of the hallway entrance. Lol sure enough there was! Unless every parking garage has a Starbucks on the other side? Nevertheless, we were able to order our food quickly and be on our way to the terminal!! The baristas were very friendly and having their own side conversation as we walked up but quickly stop talking and served/helped us, and they went back to making our food/Drinks, they went back to talking and laughing. I actually think it was really cute. How much they got along at least the three of them!! Happy people make happy food!! And happy drinks for our case! I also like the fact this particular San Francisco California Starbucks had specialty city mugs!! I started collecting mugs about 20 years ago from around the world and then Starbucks started changing/updating all the cities! I'm only keeping the original cities! Crazy how this location has so many 1 star reviews...! I was waiting for a friend in arrivals and noticed how baggage claim would become hectic and then feel serene just a moment after. If you're tight on time and need to make a connecting flight, maybe you shouldn't place an order when they're busy. If they're busy, they are busy and trying their best. I got in line when no one was there and my order was done within seconds. I tried an iced green tea with two scoops matcha powder and a splash of oat milk as well as my guilty pleasure: heated chocolate croissant. It's not the best chocolate croissant, but remember, this is fast food. Yes, I tried being healthy and ended up getting buttery chocolatey carbs. Come here prepared to witness the madness that is sure to be unavoidable at this Starbucks location. Long lines grow rapidly due to baristas taking their sweet precious time as they ring up at the registers and push out drinks at the bar. Located in the terminal where international departures congregate, there is a constant flow of hustle and bustle. It's safer to come here and grab your order togo since seating is nonexistent for the most part. Came here to order: Strawberry Acai Refresher with Lemonade [no water] Cafe Latte Matcha Green Tea Latte Drinks took some time but they were made very well. I appreciated the lattes not consisting of too much foam which happens more often than not. 3 Stars due to it's potential. FYI: Do not come here if you are in a rush. I repeat, DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE IN A RUSH!! This shop is a different creature. Unfortunately it is located at the baggage claim area, which is crazy hectic. Now, I work here, so I know how peaceful can turn into crazy in three seconds. One minute you can order and get your stuff in minutes and a minute later you can wait up to 15. I'm only judging them on their performance and not the craziness surrounding them. The cashier as well as the other employees were friendly and were doing their best to serve everybody. Unfortunately I showed up when it was getting kind of crazy. It took me one minute to order and another 10 minutes if not 15 to get my order. The staff was friendly and working as fast as possible. On the plus side my order was correct and I destroyed that delicious warm brownie. If you're going to order here, try to be patient. These guys working here are trying to do the best possible job they can, with what they have been given. read more

I'm not sure if the employees are understaffed or can't work under high pressure but I stood in line and when it was finally my turn the lady who took my order over charged me twice and all I wanted was a cup using my points and a sandwich and refresher that I was paying for on my credit card. I finally said no charge separately and when she did the price finally was right but now almost 30 minutes in my lunch is over and I walked away with just the cup... had no more time to wait for the drink or sandwich, needless to say I had no lunch today and 5hrs left of work. I will never spend my lunch here at this location again. And I'm not the only one who was complaining. Please do better. read more

I come to this starbucks often and the service is horrible. I always came in with plenty of time before work and order my drink, then I have to leave my drink behind because I would be late for work if I waited. They kept my money and my drink! It's the 4th time this happens in 5 weeks. 15 minutes for a passion tea lemonade is excessive and unacceptable. They always work so slow here and are understaffed. There was one employee making drinks, another employee taking orders and putting food in the ovens. A third employee was just standing around laughing and chatting with others (instead of helping out). They're always so sluggish and slow and have no sense of urgency. This Starbucks needs help. I am writing this while sitting in front of the store. First of all they piled bags of garbage right by where you line up, close to their food display and cold case. It smelled like bathroom garbage, like stale pee. It was very off putting. I worked a food service and I'm pretty sure this would fail. Secondly, the cashier was rather rude and the whole staff seemed so... not together. The cashier took my order and while I was saying my order turns to talk to her friend who was sitting at the bar by the pick up area. She then started a conversation with her friend while I was saying my order. She then turned back to me and said "I'm sorry what was that?" That was BEYOND rude. I believe the person she was talking to was a co worker who was off the clock. Then the ladies who ordered ahead of us also didn't get their drink made until we got to ours. The person working the bar was like "Oh she wanted her drink still?" because they were out of the regular base for their drink. The whole staff was just disjointed and rude to customers. I don't expect super stellar service at the airport but this particular visit, the stinky garbage coupled with the rude customer service was just off putting. This place is a freakin madhouse! The congestion of people that inhabit this place is just insane. I was in line for 10 minutes waiting to order and then decided to wait to outside for the line to die down before going back in to place my order. I just couldn't believe how chaotic this place was. I have been to other coffee spots in SFO and this one lacks so much structure. First off, the line to the register was split and extremely confusing. Next, there seemed to be an understaffed team the morning that I was here as well, that is never good. I could not tell if orders were being taking or not because I felt like the line wasn't moving. After waiting for far too long in line I had to step out. Once I found my seat outside I waited for approximately 20 minutes for the line to simmer down and then I was eventually able to get back and line and place my order. But, had I been waiting on a flight I would've been pissed. Thankfully, my drink came out great but the service was just not good at all. I'm actually disappointed that the service took so long for everyone waiting. Getting more staff hired here and getting more coverage would be most beneficial for this Starbucks. read more

This is for the International Terminal before 'G' security to the left. Several times here they've been overwhelmed. Today there was a line, some Japanese tourists trying to buy SF mugs, and my barista didn't know how to do my free drink reward entry. I quickly told her to forget it and just let me pay, but she couldn't figure that out either. The guy behind me started giving instructions (he must have worked there before). But in this stupid Starbucks, they said" BUT YOU SAID IT WAS ONE COFFEE!!! I AM GONNA CHANGE IT TO THREE OK?" The worst Starbucks I have ever been to in my life. Today is the second day in a row that this particular location was 15 minuets plus late opening the store. One of my worst Starbucks experiences ever. I even asked for a phone number to complain. They asked if I had a pen. The staff got the order wrong. Then said I'd have to wait while it was remade but as this was somehow my fault, even accused of ordering wrongly. That was fine of course, the attitude was they were doing me a favour.
