The shop boasts an almost impossible 4AM to 8PM window for caffeine and pastries, so nab your evening espresso as well when you're heading home. There can be a line and it's best to order online if possible. There is a kiosk out front when you walk up. Plus the traditional queue to order. There is some stand up bar counter areas along the wall to enjoy your caffeine choice but most take their brew to go on to their gates. The staff works quick and efficient! The ham and cheese croissant was very delicious! The environment is nice. I'd like to try the coffee instead next time. However if you love a good ceremonial grade matcha, don't order a matcha here. I was unpleasantly surprised with a grainy very pale green matcha latte. I tried mixing it and it wouldn't go down and basically tasted like flavored water. I think it's the brand's matcha and not necessarily a staff issue. Early flights call for coffee so we stepped in to ritual coffee for our dose of caffeine! Staff was friendly. So cool that they grind the beans there and then brew your coffee. Stopped in on my way to board. Didn't have a lot of time to pick up food elsewhere so grabbed the pastrami as well as a latte. Latte was on point. Perfectly prepared. Pastrami was terrible. Came by for coffee the other day and it was a decent experience. Ritual Coffee Roasters is located immediately post security. They have kiosks at the front to minimize the line and also suggest ordering via phone. They do have disposable nitrile gloves in size Medium or XL for staff to wear along with a 5% SF mandates for purchases. Their selection of pastries looked tasty. I have to imagine that their coffee is worth the cost, but I didn't get coffee and was very disappointed. I usually get breakfast at a different spot in Terminal 1 but I figured I'd try something new today. I used the kiosk to order which was super easy, and got an iced tea ($5.50) and breakfast sandwich ($12). I know I'm paying airport prices but I figured I'd be satisfied with my order. I was surprised to see that the iced tea was 12oz and the breakfast sandwich was overcooked to the temperature of the sun. Both were edible but certainly not worth $20+. I can't speak for the folks waiting in line, but the service was fast and the staff was friendly so this isn't a reflection of them. Just wish there were more breakfast options here. read more

Note: There is a 5% employee health benefits charge here! I was surprised to see a Ritual Coffee Roaster location at SFO and knew I had to get a coffee before I left SF. Despite the long line (and at 6:30 AM on a random Monday, too), you can easily skip it by ordering at the kiosk. I only had to wait less than 10 minutes for my drink and pastry. CAPPUCCINO - 5.50 Cannot believe that a cappucino is more expensive than a berry scone now. The cappuccino was pretty good with a strong espresso flavor. They know what they're doing here even though they have so many orders to push out. I'd recommend it. BERRY SCONE - 5 Berry scone? Barely any berries found in the scone! The scone was a bit dry and did not taste much like berries either. But hey, I needed to munch on something on my long flight back to the east coast. There's definitely better options, though. I came here before my morning flight and this place had the longest line of the places I saw for breakfast. I finally decided that I would try this place after not seeing anything else that piqued my interest that morning. Their little kiosk was really annoying as you couldn't make adjustments on there and it was also difficult to pay using a swipe card. So I got in the long line only to be told that they did not have anymore chai. It surprised me that they ran out of chai at like 6 am in the morning. The best part about this place was the ham and cheese croissant, which they warmed up and gave to me crisp, flaky, and tasty. Located in terminal 1 at SFO... it's one of a couple coffee shops in the terminal. The line is always big, but you also have the option to order through your phone or through an ordering screen they have. I truly love everything about this coffee shop. I love how the mocha is not sweet and it's just perfect with a sweet pastry. They also have a big selection of pastries. The cheese danish is amazing. It's a loud busy location at the airport. We stopped by this place to get an iced coffee latte after our flight, we forgot to specify that we wanted it iced so naturally the baristas made it hot - which we knew was our fault. We felt bad about asking them to remake it so instead we asked for an iced cup to transfer the latte, but the cup ended up being too small to hold 12oz of liquid so we asked for another cup to transfer the rest of the drink. They immediately said no and that I would have to pay $1 for the cup of ice. They went back to their drink making and just left me standing there? I have never seen such a thing.. I work in the industry as well and I could not imagine ever telling a guest no for a cup of ice, or charge them for it after they've purchased a drink. Which was $8 by the way! Long time fan of Ritual so I was thrilled to learn they have a kiosk at the airport. Great coffee of course but long queues as expected.

When you're at the airport you grab what you can. At first I thought the food looked decent so I had a pastrami and cheese sandwich.... Worst ever! Bread is hard and fry and the pastrami is waaay to lean, so very dry. I could barely chew. Sad to say after spending $35 on a couple of croissants , a couple of small boxes of juice and the sandwich, I tossed the entire sandwich. I'll pass next time. If anything, I can buy the boxers juice and a croissant The young man that helped me was very nice, but the sandwich was awful. read more

it's criminal that people are rating this coffee shop as low as they are. Ritual at SFO is the best airport coffee shop in the nation. I'm an airline pilot and a coffee roaster, so I can speak to both with some authority. You will not find a better latte, flat white, cappuccino, macchiato, cortado, etc, at an airport anywhere. If you're ordering a double whip half caff salted mushroom oil durian extract five pumps with soy whip, or a cold brew, this is likely not the place for you. I'm sure they'll do a respectable job, but it's not their forte. As far as the price ... it's an airport. I can reliably say that pretty much any coffee beverage will cost you $6-8 at any airport Starbucks, for example. A sandwich of any sort will be around $10, and nobody is baking fresh brioche in the terminal. The people here are friendly, the service is excellent, and the ambience, for an airport, is pretty unbeatable-the seating area for gate B4, B5, right behind Ritual, is rarely busy, and it's a great place to sit. Be realistic in your pricing expectations at airports, where everything incurs the additional expense and effort of deliveries, employee screenings, and other increased food service and rent charges, and be grateful that a coffee shop like this exists at all.
