I've never had such a frustrating ordering experience. Does the employee not know what kind of (new) beverage her work place offers??? She was also extremely unfriendly.
We dropped by this Starbucks location recently during our visit to River Rock. It's located on the side of the casino where the Buffet and theatre are located. It replaced its predecessor, which was an old looking cafe that didn't really match what River Rock essentially is - money. I must say the reno job was quite nice. One thing to note, they have $5 BC craft beer and $5 wine during happy hour - I can't recall the exact hours now. They also serve some food options that you won't see at regular Starbucks locations, with the Reserve being the exception. I also wanted to point out that this location is a franchise and you will not be able to redeem your Starbucks Rewards here.
I ordered the Iced Cold Foam Cappuccino. This was a newer (within the last few months?) beverage that Starbucks promoted. First, she charged me for the Cold Foam Cascara Cold Brew but not before asking her colleague what the correct button to charge was. I corrected her and pointed to the picture sign where it had the cascara cold brew and iced capp on it. I specifically told her that I want the one at the bottom of that picture (iced capp). She looked at the picture for few seconds, turned her head back to the register and then looked back at the picture. Her eyebrows were all scrunched up. She charged me for a tall iced coffee. I corrected her, again, and pointed to that picture sign, again. Her colleague who stood on the coffee machines side looked over at us, she told him what i wanted (pointed to the picture) but told me what she had charged me was correct. At this point, I had already lost my patience. I had stood there more than 5 minutes trying to place my order. If she lacked adequate product training and wanted to charge me for much less than what it should have costed, then that is Starbucks's loss. The grande iced capp costed $4.95, there was no way the tall version would cost only $3.10.
Besides the above experience, the employee looked unfriendly the entire time, even before I started correcting her. The more I corrected her, the more hostile she looked. I've rarely ever received such standoffish attitude from Starbucks before. If it weren't for the spacious and comfortable feeling this location offered, i would've given this a 1-star. read more
