I ordered my drink, it got made wrong. I think it was a misinterpretation of what I said. I wasn't upset or anything, kindly explained it and they were very nice at the register to fix it. Then I heard the people bitching behind the counter and complaining about doing their job and made it very uncomfortable. It was very unprofessional and exceptionally dirty. The tables were covered in lots of crumbs, not a place I'd wanna sit down. The behind the counter was visibly VERY dirty to the point I was questioning if I just wanted my money back. They handed me my drink by setting it not on the pick up counter but on the espresso machine or a coffee grinder--couldn't really tell. Garbage. Storefront is closed for whatever reason. Don't go on vacation with a trailer if you want startbucks apparently. I'm missing a leg but I parked my truck and trailer and walked to the storefront with my puppy to find it closed. So I said, I guess I'll walk through the drive through. An incredibly common thing. But these people discriminated and would not serve me. I was told I "could drop my trailer and drive through the drive through." Yes let me leave my trailer where exactly in the middle of this town so I can use the drive through. How about open the store front instead of being scared of a little flu. This Starbucks is my daily morning stop before heading into work and unfortunately, there's no other Starbucks location near or convenient enough for me to stop going to this one. The service and coffee here are always inconsistent. I always get the vanilla sweet cream cold brew, it's my new addiction, but they never make it just right. Some days it's just undrinkable cause they didn't put enough sweet cream so it's really bitter. If I wanted a bitter coffee I would've just gotten a regular dark roast. One thing that is consistent however, is the wait. I ordered the sweet cream cold brew and 3 mini vanilla scones one time and waited nearly 15 minutes for the scones. The cashier could have easily grabbed them while I was paying. I had to ask them to get the scones after waiting for so long cause they seemed to have forgotten about it. I have been to a few other Starbucks and this one is and has always been the best. The staff is extremely friendly and it is clear customer service is their number one goal. Weather you are ordering through the drive through or in the store the wait time is minimal. They are efficient and are clearly lead by a great management group. Order via the Mobil app and your order is always ready on time, if not earlier. Go into the store and you are greeted immediately. Went here last night for the first time in almost 2 years because we were driving through and didn't want to want to wait 45 minutes to get to the one near our house. We ordered two drinks, a trenta iced coffee with light cream and a venti caramel espresso granita. There was no one else in the drive thru, just us. The girl came to the window, took our payment and then tried handing us a black coffee and a tall granita. When we pointed out the mistakes, she took the black coffee back to put cream in it, and then said "Just keep the granita, I'll go make another one for you!" She seemed a bit irritated but did remedy the situation as quickly as possible. read more

An exceptionally dirty shop If you have a black floor in a food establishment you have to clean it often or yucky stuff like nail clippings are very visible Also the dark roast is terrible. Management should think more about the coffee and less about politics. read more

It's a Starbucks and the expectation I had was pretty standard. Get in, get coffee, maybe a bite or sandwich to go with. And get out promptly and hit the road. All done and checked smoothly. The staff was nice and went a step extra to accommodate me with a request for a green tea that was not exactly on the menu. The store is clean, so are the restrooms. Location is next to a shopping area and close to the freeway. Mine was a rest stop on a much longer drive. BTW - my off menu drink was a hot matcha green tea latte. Yumm! Only if you can stand a woodsy, tea flavor. Also my first try of their egg white bites today. This was really tasty; much more so than one has a right to expect from a store bought mass manufactured egg preparation. And, the parking lot is usually empty. I've had a mix of customer experience here. Sometimes friendly, sometimes not. Depends on who you get and probably how busy it is? On several occasions when it doesn't appear to be busy there are employees that stand there and don't acknowledge you for a bit. Okay, fine I don't need you to be at my beck and call. I've had numerous issues with my drinks here. Lattes that weren't filled all the way up, awful tasting and poorly mixed beverages. It seems if you order anything that isn't a iced latte it is incorrect. I've had some be pleasant and fix my drink, while a more recent experience when a barista was snarky because I pointed out my drink was poorly mixed and I politely asked for it to be mixed again. The side commentary about my request was unnecessary, and if you want to talk about your complaints about a customer, dude do it when they're gone. It's frustrating because this is the closest location to my job. Literally 2 minutes away. Please be better. read more

I've been to several Starbucks locations in my day, and I frequent this one the most as it is directly on my way to work on Woodbury Avenue. They have a good parking situation (which is way more than I can say for a local competitor, ahem), there are several spots on the right as you drive in and some on the left in front, and the way the drive through lane is situated, you can get out of your spot and maneuver around the line to get out without getting stuck. This to me is a huge plus. The drive through line for the most part moves pretty quickly, even if I am the last car all the way toward the end near the street. Unlike other reviewers, I have never had a bad experience here with my drinks. Though, I have a pretty simple coffee order, milk or cream only. And if I get the cold foam cold brew it's black. They used to run out of the breakfast sandwich I like to order (Bacon Gouda), but they seem to have remedied that in my absence over the summer, because I haven't run into that issue at all in the past couple months. The service both inside and in the drive through lane is superb, every person I have dealt with has been completely pleasant and very friendly. There is the same woman taking drive through orders every single day I'm there, and she has been there for at least the last 3 years since I started frequenting this location. She is awesome and always compliments me on my nails LOL! Inside is very clean whenever I have been in there, and I have no complaints. I will continue coming here as it is on my way to work and consistently good. read more

This Starbucks is unlike many other Starbucks. The difference isn't the coffee, which Howard Schultz made sure was standardized, but instead it's the heart of the staff. They make the difference. This particular Starbucks has a distinction because of its location and relative paucity of nearby Starbucks. Which means that at nonrandom intervals, the crew is bombarded mercilessly by people, clogging up the parking lot, and generally embarrassing the human species. They do this because they can't help it. They do this because some days - just some days - it's 'Double Star Day.' Who cares? Nobody should care. But they do. They flock to this location to collect a few more ethereal, and nearly worthless, Starbucks Stars, to save 0.2% on their annualized Starbucks purchases. Mel and the rest of the team are excellent, attentive, customer service pros, so don't let your idiosyncratic order turn you into a tyrant. And no, soy milk and almond milk are not healthier than regular milk... And it's very unlikely that you're actually lactose intolerant, because the genes for that are quite rare. Of the Starbucks closest to us, this is my favorite. Every time we go in, the employees are always cheerful (and sometimes singing along with the music playing in the store), they are very patient if we haven't made up our mind and anything we order is always good. I usually get the white chocolate mocha latte and my husband gets regular coffee, usually the type to "put hair on his chest." We've tried their snacks and breakfast sandwiches and so far, everything has been very tasty and good. Kudos to this location!!! read more

They remember that I'm lactose intolerant, and if I order something that I don't know contains dairy, they will tell me it has dairy! Upon my arrival at the Portsmouth Starbucks I was greeted coldly by an employee that didn't seem to want to be there. I ordered my signature caramel latte and the man taking my order gave me a look of judgement. He proceeded to make possibly the worst caramel latte I've ever had. The consistency was all wrong and I couldn't taste the caramel flavoring. I asked him to make me a new one and he said there was nothing wrong with it. With all of Portsmouth's excellent coffee shops hopefully this review will dissuade you from going to Starbucks and encourage you to try one of the local shops. read more

Well third try was not the charm. Apparently "splash" doesn't show on the instructions so the app, need to fix that. After going in circles about me needing a splash a new coffee was made. Not for me, decided in my car to try it, and it had no sugar or vanilla. So splash wash added but you're too dumb to read the instructions on the cup and redo everything else? Had it re-made with a "very small amount of milk" for my "splash". Perfect, I think. The person I bought it for said it was too dark so clearly we went below what a normal "splash" is. I find this location to be overly loud. Always blaring music and loud (measured up to 80dB). C'mon store and district managers, you can be a bit more customer centric for those who come in catch up on email, have a face-to-face job interview or just a couple trying to have a conversation. It was 7:45 AM and the floor was absolutely filthy. The trashcan was overfilling. The people were nice enough but they just didn't listen to anything you asked for. Like do you want enough room at the top of your coffee? Yes please you answer. Then you get your coffee and it's filled to the top. Would you like your croissant heated? Yes we would please. Then you get your croissant and it's not heated. It's like they're going through the motions which is somewhat forgivable. But the dirty floors are completely inexcusable. I am an avid Starbucks lover, but have had a horrible experience here with a person named Tori. I always get my two dogs "puppacinos" (whipped cream in a mini cup) as a treat for them when I'm not on the way to work. I have been getting these for them for several years, a couple times a month. Tori interrupted the girls getting me the puppacino, and stated that my dogs will "go into diabetic shock" and refused to let me obtain them. This is not the case (I work in animal rescue and work with numerous vets), but this was also HIGHLY offensive. As a type one diabetic (I have had it since I was three years old), for someone who is NOT in the medical OR animal care field to give me this (inaccurate) info was extremely out of place and, dare I say, rude. I will not be returning to this Starbucks; although the other people who work there are very sweet and kind, this experience has pushed me away from this Starbucks permanently. I don't go to Starbucks for medical advice, I can call a vet or a doctor. Highly offensive. read more
