Since I had some time to kill while a family member was having a procedure at nearby Mather Hospital I camped out here with my computer to get some work done. This Starbucks in Port Jefferson is pretty nice, and has a terrific location right on main street. if you're sitting at the front window counter seats it's perfect for people watching on a nice day. More than enough seating, clean bathrooms, strong wifi, and outlets to charge up. Friendly baristas and no problem getting my iced coffee quickly. Good air conditioning here too on a hot afternoon outside.

Early morning quick stop. STAFF - very friendly and helpful. CHOICES - the same as in any Starbucks. Limited to grande sizes on the wall menu. But can get small or venti if you ask. SPACE - adequate ordering space. Not very good for inside seating. Maybe 4 stools and a small number of tables. PRICES - not that it matters but higher than the average location.

Great Starbucks location, employees were super nice and patient with our questions about different flavors. I got a mint tea and my boyfriend got a lightly sweet chai latte made with almond milk. Both drinks were great! My only problem was that the bathroom had toilet paper all over and the floor was wet, but the actual dining area was super clean and comfortable.

If you are in Port Jefferson Starbucks has a great location right on main street. This particular Starbucks is on the small size.I had a vent cappuccino extra wet. It was made just right and barely had to wait. Fast friendly service

If you're in Port Jeff Village this is the best place to get coffee. Clean bathrooms, ample seating area. Great attentive staff. Hey they know me so well, I just walk in and my drink is started by the time I get up there.... that's service!!! They have cover on the Clover!!!! Just go you'll love it!!!

So generally speaking, I'm not a huge fan of Starbucks (I'm more of a mom and pop shop kind of girl) but this is definitely one of the better locations on the island. The location is ideal (super close to the water Down Port). The staff is super friendly and quick (even when the place is packed) and the store is always tidy. I have no complaints.

Iced Mocha and Iced Raspberry Loaf . . . Yes, please!

I needed to get out of my house for a while, so I stopped by Starbucks for some caffeine. I ordered an iced mocha and had no plans to order anything else but then I saw the iced raspberry loaf. I'm a sucker for all things raspberry so instead of putting raspberry in my mocha (I figured that would be overkill) I opted for the loaf. YUM! I used to drink Starbucks daily. But, I cut back because of the calories. Today was my first time here in a while and I must say I forgot how STRONG the coffee is! I am wired! I like this location. The staff is friendly, the drinks are made consistently well, and it's clean. You can sit at the counter by the the window and people watch or take your drink and go shopping. Parking is easy. There is usually an open space right out front, just keep in mind it's 30 MINUTE PARKING.

While I was looking over the deli options with my CERTIFIED service dog, the employee abruptly and very loudly asked - within earshot of other customers - what service my dog provides. While businesses are legally allowed to ask limited questions, I answered immediately and appropriately. For context, my service dog is fully trained, certified, and had just flown on a plane with me. He's also 105 lbs, so he's a big boy. Despite this, the employee continued to question me, spoke to me in a condescending manner, and went as far as saying she herself has a service dog for her "actual" disability - clearly implying that I was lying or exaggerating. This was humiliating, dismissive, and completely inappropriate. I do not need to disclose my disability to anyone, nor should I be interrogated after already complying with the law. I was so taken aback that I decided to leave immediately. Neither my dog nor I felt welcome, and I was uncomfortable continuing the interaction. We were former customers, but after this experience, I can't bring myself to return. No one should be treated this way - ESPECIALLY over something that is legally protected and deeply personal.

Inside is a tea party lover's dream: think florals, fine china and a hat bar for your elegant photos! The staff is super helpful and kind offering suggestions for the mammoth selection of teas they offer. My friend and I ordered an afternoon tea set that came with scones, sandwiches, desserts. And for $54 + sharing fee, it was good! The scones were hot and tender, there was a variety of nibbles my friend and I enjoyed, such as the chicken salad sandwich, the cream puff and a variety of fruit to keep it light. I'll be honest, I feel like there are other tea rooms that offer a greater and larger selection for the same price. So if you're looking around Long Island, there are better options out there. But, if you're locally in the area, I would give them a chance!

Located in the heart of Port Jefferson, a short walk from the large municipal lot and ferry, this tea shop is where you want to go. I always get the tea service, which comes with a bottomless pot of tea. They have so many teas to choose from, including decaf and herbal versions. My wife and I have been here a few times and found Dortoni to be delightfully delicious. Well, for the most part. On our first trip we tried a whole bunch of different baked goods (pastries, cookies, crumbs, cakes, etc.), though one thing we were excited about was their take on the Dubai chocolate sensation via the form of a cake. Unfortunately, it kind of missed the mark, but if you take that snafu aside, everything else at Dortoni is fantastic. For instance, my wife's new favorite dessert is their cheesecake waffle cone (which is exactly what it sounds like). For me, I loved the key lime bomb which was out of this world. There's just a great selection of stuff here that makes you curious as to what they'll have each time you enter. Beyond the baked goods, I will say the staff has been super friendly. Both visits they were helpful, gave suggestions, and (though it was close to closing) offered us some rolls free of charge. It doesn't take a lot to make you feel welcome and they do more than that which is nice to see. Perhaps you won't see what is nothing more than a few tables inside this small spot that you can sit at, but I wouldn't say this is a horrible turnoff. Yeah, maybe Dortoni isn't your bakery/cafe that's going to be a place you stay and enjoy your goods, but it's definitely worth some items to-go. Overall, Dortoni in Port Jeff earns a visit. There are other locations (perhaps even one closer to me) that I might have to check out, but even if I do, I'll at least know that the quality and service in PJ is top notch. I'd gladly return here in the future (and I probably will knowing my wife's new obsession) and you should too!
