This is my go to Starbucks. Mainly because it's right down the street from my house, and it's on my way to work. I usually order online and then just pick up in the drive thru or in store. It's always ready as soon as I get there. The staff are always so kind and sweet, and it's a nice little feeling in the morning to have a good human interaction. Today I went to the the Starbucks on war memorial. I ordered online and they said it would be ready in 5 mins. I got there 10 minutes later and they hadn't even started on my drink, and they weren't really that busy. The employees were very nice though so maybe it was just a rough day for them. Horrible! If you're short on time avoid this Starbucks at all costs! Appears to be severely understaffed, especially during their busy times. Located at a very busy intersection with drive-thru patrons frequently spilling out onto the street due to tight/limited access. Only reason for one star is because zero isn't an option! read more

As an avid Starbucks person, I look for those special things that make each franchise standout. This location has the standard Starbucks feel, but their staff goes above and beyond to ensure that you enjoy your experience. For instance, my best friend asked for the barista to go crazy with the Carmel drizzle in her drink. And the barista did exactly that. The look of pure heaven on my friend's face was priceless. We were able to find nice seat indoors to enjoy our drinks and chat. As we were leaving, the barista made sure to give a drink card (as she had forgotten to do so when we paid for the drinks). These are those things that makes each franchise unique and irreplaceable. Way too go!!!! read more

Did an all nighter last night for an unfinished project. I just had to go for a 2nd round of coffee but decided I want something frozen instead. Starbucks is one of my go-to place and this is my first time at this location. Upon entering, there was a barista standing right in front of me cleaning something. She must have not realized I was there, so I just looked up at the menu deciding if I really wanted a caramel latte or a mocha frappuccino. Over a minute went by and still, I was not greeted. I didn't take offense to this at all, BTW. I make the best of all situation! So, I took this time to pick out what I wanted to wear for tomorrow. :-) When I finally made direct eye contact with her in my extra engaging 'Hello I'm very ready to order now' look, she did just what I had expected! She greeted me with a giant smile and told me I could have more time to look over the menu as needed. Now see, just because she didn't greet me right away did not mean she was purposely being rude(thought it could've been the case). She thought she was doing the right thing by not interrupting me while I was busy scratching my chin, pondering which cup of coffee would my taste buds prefer at the moment. I would like to say that of all the starbucks location in Peoria, this one is now my favorite. When you drink these as often as I do, you can taste the difference in consistency even if they put 1 teaspoon less of milk in. My mocha frappe(with an extra pump of mocha) came out pretty satisfying. The texture was right, it was nice and sweet with a strong mocha taste, I couldn't really ask for better. As for the caramel latte, it was just par. I thought it was a tad bland, lacking in coffee flavor and a little strong on the milky side. Wrote a funny but blatantly fake review. Starbucks sent me an email about it because they're a bunch of whiny babies. So I'll write an actual review. Your coffee is shit. You source unethically. Cappuccinos were not meant to be humongous 20 Oz drinks. Frappuccinos are a disgrace to coffee. Starbucks sucks and I would rather go without coffee than drink their burnt, syrupy sludge. I stopped by this location to pick up a mobile order while traveling through the area. The order was ready to go when I arrived and I was pleased with the quality of my latte. Despite a near full house, the Wi-Fi signal was excellent. The baristas weren't overly friendly, but my interactions with them were limited. This location was clean and well-maintained. read more

My girlfriend absolutely loves Starbucks and was in need of one during our travels through the area. We were a little disappointed in the service we received from this particular one as we were not greeted upon entering the store (as we have experienced in every other Starbucks). The barrista was curt and I wasn't even sure my order was complete as she walked away as soon as I had paid. The poor lady in front of me stood there a while too wondering if everything was complete. She finally realized the barrista was done with her when she heard her order called out at the other end of the counter. Another issue with this location, which is probably out of their control, is the super poor entrance and parking area. The drive thru line extended all the way to the entrance of the parking lot and into the main exit for a shopping complex behind it. Getting around the drive thru cars was dangerous as it's the only way to get out of the parking lot. Needless to say, we won't stop at this particular Starbucks again due to the blasé attitude and poor parking lot design. read more

I got close to $80 in GIFT CARDS for Starbucks over the holidays. I'm a fan of about every drink I've tried at Starbucks. I'm particularly a fan of their iced coffee with non-fat milk and two sweet 'n low. Nothing glamorous - but OH-SO-YUMMY. The staff is friendly and quick. I'm a seasonal Starbucks customer. I absolutely love the Caramel Brûlée Latte, the seasonal drink that ideally runs until at least Christmas (as you would think, right?) I visited this location on Sunday, December 14. I pulled up into the drive-thru and was very anxious to order my favorite drink - the Caramel Brûlée Latte, which was advertised on the drive-thru menu. After I ordered, I was told that "Starbucks" no longer carried the drink. Now, when I heard the statement, I had to clarify if we were both talking about the Caramel Brûlée Latte. It didn't make any sense that a winter seasonal drink (which, technically it's not even winter or Christmas yet) not be carried anymore. ALSO, why was it still on the menu?! A guy comes through the speaker and states that Starbucks has two seasonal phases, Winter I and Winter II. And the Caramel Brûlée Latte was apart of Winter I, which is now over. In my mind, I'm thinking this is just absolutely unbelievable. He offered a "substitute" drink and I kindly rejected and backed up out of the drive through. Still not believing that the popular winter seasonal drink was discontinued for the season, I called the Starbucks on Prospect to see if they were carrying it -- YES THEY WERE! I called this Starbucks to inquire why they would say such nonsense of a drink being "discontinued" when it only applied to this specific location. The "manager" I spoke with was rude. She insisted that it was their location that didn't carry it anymore and other locations may. I told her that, that wasn't clear when I was in the drive thru and that they should fix their language. She didn't apologize and she rudely hung up the phone. My problem with this Starbucks was their verbiage. He should have been clear that it was just THIS location that was not carrying the drink anymore. He should have noted that other locations could still be carrying the drink. I also didn't like how the manager was rude when I called to see why they were making these false statements and that they should clarify that it was specific to their location. Not sure what the hype is over this place. I've been to much better coffee shops that can actually make a good coffee drink properly. Every time I've been here (not just this location), they've burned the mocha. Over-roasting seems to be a theme here. The baristas need a ton more training. The coffee in general is very bitter. Absolutely dreadful customer service! There is no way that someone should have to write a bad experience about a cold coffee. I went today in the drive thru on my lunch break for a Grande Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam. What the guy put something on the screen however the total wasn't right (I typically pay $6.33 for the drink) so I let him know & he tries to be condescending & says, "So do you want me to add to it?". I say, "No I don't want you to unless it's necessary. A woman gets on the mic & corrects it to the correct total & I pull around. When I get to the window, the drink looked nothing like it should so I let the guy know, he insists that it's right so I pull around & go in. AS SOON AS I go in & walk up to the counter, ABBY says, "What's the problem?" in a very rude tone. I give her a look & say, "Now, let's start off right.". I tell her that the drink shouldn't be mixed & she proceeds to tell me that it's because the cream has gone to the bottom (which I know however I've been in longer drive thru lines & the drink was separated by the time that I've gotten to the window plenty of times before). I immediately ask for the drink to be made again & Abby just continues to be rude WHILE looking at a lady w/green hair & MAKES FACES!! I have NEVER been somewhere that blatantly disrespects a customer like that in my life. When I saw Abby make that face, I let her know in same tone that she made that face how wrong that she was. No one in their right mind wants to be arguing over a cold coffee, or at least I don't want to. Furthermore, her level of disrespect toward me was gross & unwarranted! She claimed that she was A manager so I asked her who THE manager was. She gave me a name, Kenneth. She eventually made my drink & I left. Lo & behold, she made the drink wrong. I can't help but to wonder if she'd done it on purpose. I brought the drink right back in & asked her if she made it wrong on purpose & she just looked. I asked for a refund from the lady w/green hair & as she was giving me my refund, she was SHAKING LIKE A LEAF! I truly do hate that she absorbed or even had to witness that amount of energy so I asked her to calm down multiple times because Abby was the culprit, not necessarily her (I didn't see her make a face after Abby did). Truth be told, that Starbucks on University has gone way down hill. The staff is NOT what is used to be. They used to be so kind & caring. I have to say I'm definitely a fan of Starbucks and was super excited to find a location in Peoria as I came to vist family. BUT the service I received was highly unacceptable. The barista who took my order had the worst disposition I came across in awhile. She had short blonde hair, dark eyebrows and very pale skin I tryed to get her name but there was no name tag. She didn't greet anyone when they walked in, said "what do you want" out of frustration in a very angry voice when I asked if the have a certain flavor. This Starbucks location is great because the staff are so fun and friendly. Somehow they all remember my first name which is a nice personal touch. Mainly I love the straight espresso shots with, of course, the chocolate brownie. We bought a Verismo there too and it works great. Nice little sitting areas both inside and out which is great for small meeting. read more

This place is a strange sensory experience: it's always extremely cold and loud in here. I don't mean the coffee machines (you expect a certain amount of noise from those, of course!) The music is blaring, at an uncomfortable level. I downloaded an app just for fun which measured the noise level in here between 85-90 decibels. Yikes. As I look around, every patron is wearing their coat as they sit and enjoy their coffee. The place has really modern decor: steel tables and windows all around the store. Perhaps that, combined with the drive-they window make for such a cold environment. My coffee was good, muffin was good. My muffin was served to me in a bag even though I was staying. I asked for a fork and plate and got just the fork. Probably won't come back inside, though I may continue to use the drive thru. read more

We had a coupon code from Starbucks for a free drink or treat for my birthday. The barista was flippant and rude stating they had "no way" of coding that in their register. What should have been a pleasant treat ended up making us feel bad and mad. Such a small thing now makes me not want to go back to this store again. Avoid store # 9756. This overall has been our least favorite due to a few bad experiences with rude or inexperienced baristas. Thus the 3 stars. Hope they step it up in the hiring dept in the future. sunday ritual :) Go to starbucks get coffee, get on line and play games and talk with friends relax! the Verona coffee is the best however it seems to only be occasionally served in the store. I miss it when they don't have it in the store. The bagels and breakfast sandwiches are good however the pastries LOOK pretty but don't always taste as good as they look.
