I've been to this location at I-240 & Penn a few times over the past year. I keep coming back. I usually use the drive thru and have pleasant experiences, but today I stopped in to have a drink inside. I have to say, being here brightened my day. The service was fast, friendly and team here went out of their way to make me feel welcome (They even got my name right!!). My drink order was perfect. They had a great blend of December holiday tunes and laid back acoustic chill music. They have several kinds of seating options: small tables, large tables, comfy leather chairs. There's definitely room for larger teams of patrons (up to 7-10 people working together) to get some work done while here. I opted for the comfy leather chairs since I was flying solo. I could have sat there all day. I loved hearing folks walk in and be greeted by name. Patrons and staff swapped stories about their day and upcoming holiday plans. The microcosm of connectedness warmed my heart, especially since it's the holiday season. And, thank you, to the fellow patron who bought my drink this afternoon. Ordered a venti caramel brûlée and after leaving the drivethrough, we were given a grande hot chocolate. Went back and told them and was given my order.... in a grande. It is extremely disappointing they have shrunk the Starbucks from a original set up with seating to an order and stand only location. The even more irritating factor is when asked to use the facilities the barista stated "we don't have one but you can go across the parking lot to del taco" as she squinted her eyes and I payed for a $16 dollar drink. Someone needs to tell the employees about The difference between making a trenta sized Frappuccino, and Putting a vente sized Frappuccino into a trenta cup... BETTER YET, ILL TELL YOU. After debating for about a minute With Karen about this misunderstanding, I finally convinced her to put my vente sized drink a drink with 3 extra shots into a trenta a cup, So she poured my drink into a Vente cup, And then put it in the trinter cup, Disposing of much of the product I had paid product I had paid for... Check it out Karen, If you make a vente sized drink and and then you add shots of espresso, That is going to add to the volume of the drink, So you can put it in a bigger cup, You are not making a trenta Frappuccino!!! When you throw away the access product product in the blender because it wouldn't fit in the vinty cup, You essentially threw away one and a 1 and 1/2 of my 3 shots! That i paid for! It is always clean and the staff is always friendly. But the evening time is a whole different experience. They do a poor job always out of something it seems like. My friend and I went to this Starbucks today after her isolation due to Covid. We attempted to order drinks via the drive thru and the female employee with several colors in her hair was having a hard time understanding my friend. She assumed the drink size and never asked. The drink was not even made correctly. The employee seemed irritated and judgmental since my friend asked for no coffee in her drink. When we approached the window I had to assist my friend in paying for the order as she has a disability. The drink was much too large. There was no sleeve on her hot drink and made it impossible for her to hold and properly enjoy. The service here and at this location was very upsetting and disappointing. I went through the drive through and got my usual; a grande americano with cream and two pumps of toffee nut syrup. The service was quick, and the barista was warm and friendly. Also, they called me by name which meant a lot. Afterward, my kid had to run in to the restroom. I appreciate that they have a gender neutral restroom! Hit or miss. Sometimes the lights are on but nobody actually appears to be in the store. Sometimes the lights are on and folks are just standing at the counter, but not answering the drive through. I frequent this Starbucks multiple times a week. I typically do mobile orders that are sent in 10 - 15 mins in advance. I ALWAYS have to wait in the order. (I know first world problems) I just dint get why I walk in and have to wait 5-10 mins and someone walks in and orders at the register and walks out with their drink right after they order. This Starbucks is the closest one to me and that would be the only reason I come here... They always seem to have their coffees burnt when I'm around and now I just get their juices in the front. I always ask for skinny version and I'm not sure if they realize the no whipped cream aspect but they seem to always forget. One thing I like about Starbucks (not specifically this location of course) is their new mini size. I never really finish my tall frappachinos and this new size is good for me. I realize the price between a mini and a tall is not equivalent to the actually size between the two but I don't want to waste anything and this size happens to suit me very well. The Starbucks secret menu must be super huge because everytime my husband and I ask for one on that secret menu the employees have no idea and we have to find the recipe for them. I don't normally review these stores as they are all the same but this one earned a brief write up. I counted, more than once as that was how long I was there, and there wwere 9 people working behind the counter. Of the 9 people there, 1 was at the register taking orders AND fulfilling them and 8 were in the drive-thru and not all of them were workIng. That it took nearly 10 minutes just to place my order and nearly another 15 minutes to get a mocha, I was one of two people in line, was a feat I am still speechless about. There are some good Starbucks locations around here but this one is not it. I ordered a salted Carmel white mocha with the salted Carmel cold foam and when I pull up to pay she double checks my order to make sure she heard correctly which she did and then tells me they can't do the flavor without a specific ingredient (which is fine, i get it) so I just say to go ahead and give me a normal white chocolate mocha with the salted Carmel foam. They put whip cream on top of the foam and she asks me after the fact and just.. never coming back again. I get it we are under paid, under staffed and no benefit by these corporations but we can at least try. :( read more
