I thought that was so weird, as it should be just the tea bag, steamed milk, and vanilla syrup. It tasted watered down. I also had a croissant and it was so bad, it was almost inedible. Judging by the way they were stacked up like sardines in the display case, I think they are bought from somewhere else and certainly not made in house. It was too dry and lacking the inner chewiness, yet also not flaky or crips on the outside. Instead it was kinda stale. It looked like those ones that come in big boxes at grocery store. Very disappointing. The only good thing is that their street side patio is really nice in the summer. There are ample muskoka chairs with side tables and a bowl of clean water for the dogs. On a weekend morning, there are lots of regulars here and people are very friendly. However, for quality espresso drinks and fresh baked goods, Supernova Coffee up the street is significantly better (and also has a cute patio area).

It's on the northwest corner of Midland and Ellesmere. Two Saturdays ago, I was driving up from running errands at Warden and Eglinton. I was thirsty. I needed a beverage. I decided to check out this cafe. If you are going southbound along Midland, it's a breeze to turn right to get to this Starbucks. I was going in the opposite direction. I ended up turning left to go into some business's parking lot, came right out, and then drove into the Starbucks drive-thru. There was a bit of a lineup. The wait wasn't horrible. I ordered a grande iced peach green tea. The woman on the other end was so nice and friendly. The way that she spoke made me think that she was an English major or an actress. Her phrasing and articulation were impressive, which I frankly don't expect from a barista at any cafe! I pulled up to the window and had this nice barista scan the barcode on my Starbucks app. I grabbed my drink out and she wished me a pleasant weekend. I reciprocated and drove away. I exited onto Ellesmere Road. I turned up Kennedy Road and headed home, sipping my drink the entire time. I loved iced peach green tea. It was perfect. It quenched my thirst. I was a happy camper. Although this cafe has odd entrance and exit setups, I had a great experience. If you are a public transit person, this cafe is steps away from Ellesmere station along the Scarborough LRT (Light Rapid Transit) line. I haven't been on it since we were all asked to work from home just before the pandemic's official declaration was made. However, being at the lowest tier on 407 ETR's rewards program, I get to drive a certain number of kilometres for free on Sundays. I decided to relive driving it. I got to Oakville earlier than I had expected. I needed a drink on a hot, sunny day. I did a quick search and found this Starbucks close by. I headed over there. This cafe is its own standalone building. I dig it. It's rare to find. It's either a part of a series of businesses, or is built into a Petro-Canada gas station. I spotted a drive-thru and decided to check it out. There was a single car in front of me. When I was my turn, I spoke to a man. I ordered my usual when it's summer, which is a grande iced peach green tea. It still bugs me that, by default, staff assume that you want it with lemonade. Um, no. If I had said lemonade, it would indicate that I want it. I got to the pickup window and spoke to a male barista. I had him scan my Starbucks barcode on my phone to pay for my drink. He then asked how I'd like to pay, holding a payment machine. I was confused. I asked him, "Didn't I just pay?" He had to check. I don't know what he did or did not do there, but he needed to rescan my barcode. Weird. I did get my drink. I thanked him, despite being weirded out by the double-scan oddness. I drank my iced peach green tea. It hit the spot. It was refreshing, cold, and perfect. If I'm back in this area, I'd drop by again. It has a patio with many folks enjoying it that day.
