It was just the thing that I needed. I drink my coffee very slowly, so it's important that my coffee taste good as it makes its way from piping hot to lukewarm. The black coffee at The Caffeinery tastes good in all temperatures! What a relief. Sometimes, coffee will taste more bitter as it gets cold, but that's not the case with this coffee. It was good from start to finish. There's a little play space for kids here, which I love to see. I wasn't visiting with my children, but when I was a young mom, I was always on the lookout for restaurants and cafes with nooks for kids. I visited Concannon's by myself, and although I wanted one of each of the donuts they had in the bakery case, I limited myself to three donuts: a glazed pretzel-shaped yeasted donut, a blueberry cake donut and an old fashioned donut. My go-to at any donut shop is usually a glazed twist, but they don't have glazed twists here! Instead, they have a glazed pretzel-shaped donut, which turned out to have all of the elements of a glazed twist, but it was just bigger and more twisty. It was amazing, pillowy, slightly sweet and even more delicious when you pull it apart with your fingers and eat it bit by bit. The blueberry cake and old-fashioned donuts were my favorites, though. These melted in my mouth, especially the old-fashioned. It was so tender and fresh. The old-fashioned is one of those kinds of donuts that I wish I enjoyed with some coffee, but instead, I ate it solo while dancing around delightedly in my hotel room. Between 11 am - 2 pm, they have a small lunch menu with 2 sandwich options. Muffins and protein bars are usually available for purchase at the counter. They offer a 10% discount for active military and Veterans. And they have a punch-card reward available too. They accept debit/credit cards and cash. The Playzone and bookstore are also in the Community Center. So if you are visiting the coffee bar, the Playzone is an indoor playground and climbing wall free for kids 2-12 years old. There are free basketball courts as well. Free Wifi is available at the coffee bar, and tables are set up for people to work, meet, eat, socialize, etc. They have inside and outdoor seating.
