Oak + Bean

This one stop shop for specialty coffee and wine bar is nestled into downtown Oswego. Parking was a…read morebut difficult as there is only a lot in the back of the building but the extra effort is very much worth it. Oak + Bean source their own coffee beans to create a wide variety of coffee types and flavors. Browsing the list, there were plenty of offerings that intrigued me to come back more than once. They also offer teas, snacks, baked goods, and other soft drinks. If those aren't enough, they double as an evening wine bar offering all wine types, mimosas, and some beers. I loved the murals all over inside and elevated design otherwise. They have monthly events to engage the community. Loved stopping by Oak + Bean and would certainly come back when passing through the area. Tip: Wine Happy Hour is M-F, 4-6pm!

There aren't really any fun shops nearby, but there is a very nice park just a short walk away. That's a nice place to enjoy your coffee, although the interior of Oak + Bean is very nice. Plenty of seating inside with nice chairs, plus outdoor seating. We ordered a cappuccino and an iced ube latte. The cappuccino was served a bit hotter than normal, so I had to be patient before sipping. However, the milk foam was great, and the coffee tasted pretty good as well. My wife enjoyed the ube latte. Pricing was reasonable and service was friendly.

Vannie’s House - I love this place this is for boba fans and they have stamp card!

One of Aurora's (Chicago Suburbs) Best Boba Tea Spots!…read more After traveling around the world and tasting boba from Taiwan to Singapore, I can confidently say that Vannie House in Aurora delivers some of the best tapioca pearls I've had in the U.S. The pearls are perfectly chewy, fresh, and absolutely on par with the quality I've experienced in top-tier Asian tea shops. One thing I really appreciate is the tapioca-to-drink ratio. Most boba shops either overload you with pearls or drown everything in too much liquid. Vannie House nails the balance, every sip and scoop feels intentional and well crafted. I tried several drinks on my visit: M9 (modified with Thai Tea) -- Smooth, flavorful, and extremely well blended. A3 Orange Peach with Black Tea -- Sweet, refreshing, and surprisingly layered in flavor. Hot Chai Tea -- Rich, warm, and incredibly smooth. Easily one of the best chai teas I've had at any boba shop. The interior decor is also a standout, clean, modern, cozy, and aesthetically designed. It's the kind of place you actually want to sit and enjoy your drink rather than rush out. Huge shoutout to Niko, whose recommendations were absolutely on point. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, exactly the kind of service that keeps you coming back. If you're in Aurora and looking for high-quality boba tea, Vannie House (my #47 Boba Tea Spot) is a must-try. I'll 100% be returning whenever I'm in the area.

The ambiance is really nice! Great place to hang out or study with your friends. The service was…read morealright, they were nice and offered us some samples of other tea. The weird part was asking if i had a punch card and when i said no they didn't offer me one either? Either way, i got the taro strawberry smoothie and a hazelnut iced coffee. Neither of us enjoyed the drinks because they're very syrup heavy resulting in a drink that's wayyyyy too sweet. It just tastes like drinking concentrated syrup and powder blended/mixed with milk. Barely tasted any taro. Having some real ingredients like frozen strawberries with taro powder is what I'd expect at this price point. Not both ingredients being powdered and syrups. The tapioca itself was really good, soft and not too chewy. But there's just way too much of it, you're eating boba more than enjoying a drink. The brown sugar syrup that the boba sits in doesn't help with the additional sweetness in the drink. Wouldn't recommend for real drinks

Candy Cloud - Very clean, and well lit. A few tables to sit while you wait.

Also a few things to eat. The prices are too high but great stuff. A lot of menu items available. It's got a couple of order screens where customers place their own orders. There's a crap ton to choose from so the line can be a long wait. Beverages are the main things to get. It's about $5 to get most of the coffees, which are cold or hot. We saw a lot of interesting ones. I got the Matcha Latte. Pretty typical but there was the right amount of sweetness. Has some food. Mostly basic stuff. It's about $2 to get a hash brown. Yes that is not even a couple of hash browns, but they taste pretty good though. It's about $5 to get a few pretzel bites. The beverages are obviously better than the food in terms of price and quality. For sure it's got lots to choose from. It's in front of the one strip mall with Target and some other stores. There's a pretty limited amount of space and only a few tables.

Hopefully they will cancel their contract with them, as I had a $45 order, 90 minutes after ordering and getting longer and longer delivery times, DoorDash canceled the order. I called and was told they could only refund $11 of processing and tip fees. When I called Candy Cloud to get the other $34 refunded, I first found out that DoorDash did, in fact, pick up our order, before canceling it w/o refunding me. I had gotten the manager of the Oswego IL location, and she was phenomenal!.... offered to remake the whole order and have one of her staff deliver it to us. Considering that this offer only costs them money, for a mistake (or theft) that DoorDash made, it only reiterated what I already knew: DoorDash is HORRIBLE; Candy Cloud is AWESOME!!!!! Love them so much!!!
