So we chose to go here on the way to accomplish some errands and well, it was disappointing. The Schtick is supposedly Turkish Style Coffee with Yemeni beans? Are they actually getting coffee beans out of Yemen right now? The menu didn't really feature Turkish Style Coffee as the forward offering. The employees were not rude or anything, but they, they were slow at making coffee. They also didn't know how to make coffee either. Pulling and espresso shot is easy, pouring a latte is not. and Moka & Co brewed a Cortado that was clearly just an espresso shot with some steamed milk glopped on top...which I've had that happen before at places that only have paper cups. BUT if you care about brewing coffee, you will pour a microfoam head in paper just as you would in ceramic. What's worse is that the coffee just tasted like dirt, if this is Yemeni coffee, it's bad. Seemed like there was potential here, but it was a waste of a morning when there are so many great coffee places in the core, we just need more of them in the East Valley. Unfortunately Moka & Co is just marketing and not a quality coffee shop.

I'm a big Cortado guy and they have one prominently on the menu. We've been here a few times and each time my wife's flavored latte is quite lovely, but would it be if it wasn't iced? The service is pleasant, the cafe itself is clean and cute, they have a restroom for patrons. But when it comes to pouring a Cortado, they don't know how to do it. It's just some steamed milk dumped on espresso in a paper cup. Any time a barista puts a cap on your cup (paper cups are generally a bad sign, but some are very good, but still not as good as glass cup poured versions) it's clear they intend to hide the lack of microfoam head, the art itself is how you build this drink.
