I was in the area and decided to place a mobile order to pickup one of my favorite Starbucks drinks and grab breakfast for my husband and I. I placed the order through the app, which gave me an estimated pickup time and let me know exactly where to go in the store to pickup my order. It's just off the windy hill exit from 75 and across the street from CFA. It sits at the end of a little retail area so be on the lookout for the green umbrellas in the outdoor seating area. The parking lot was a little hectic as I expected on a Saturday morning but I was able to grab a spot and made my way inside. It was super busy and even with all of the madness happening inside the staff still made it a point to say "good morning" as people walked in which I appreciated. The pickup area was super easy to find and I didn't have to fight my way to get my order. Everything was ready and neatly packaged when I arrived. The dragonfruit refresher was so good and I tried the bacon, egg, and sausage wrap while my husband had the bacon, egg, and Gouda sandwich. Once I made it home I was kinda surprised at how warm the food was and it was absolutely delicious. It was filing and just the right amount for a nice, quick breakfast. Visited this Sbux store twice while in the area. First time was an afternoon mobile order with drive-thru pick up. Wasn't impressed, due to the fact that the mobile app showed no availability of nitro cold brew, which is my standard go-to, so I went ahead and ordered a macchiato (plan B). When I arrived at the drive-thru, I mentioned the issue to the staff, who assured me that nitro cold brew was indeed in stock. I told him I'd prefer the nitro cold brew, but he just shrugged and handed me the macchiato. Thanks for caring. I returned the following morning for drip coffees, this time opting for the in store experience. It started off on a positive note... clean store and the entire staff chanted, "Good morning", when I entered. I asked the barista what the bold brew was and she told me that she didn't know, then just stood there looking at me. After an awkward moment of silence, I suggested we ask someone else, which she did. Thankfully, he knew that Verona was brewing. "Great, I'll take two grandes!" Paid, got my coffees and left. The coffee was fine. Exactly, what I expected. Someone apparently trained the staff to greet the customers as they enter, which is a solid start, but my experiences indicate that it may be time to dig a litter deeper into the customer service training manual. At the very least, when someone states that they tried to order a drink, which the app incorrectly said is not available, offer to make that drink for the customer, and if a customer asks what coffee is brewing and you don't know, offer to find out. I've been here probably 5-10 times, enough to review this location fairly. I've never, ever had an issue here and the beverages I order always require customization with extra this and hold that...always made 100% to my liking and my requests are always fulfilled. I've always been greeted promptly and have never waited an extended amount of time to order or for my drink, the employees here are usually on point. The restrooms are gender free and relatively clean as well. I've never used the drive thru so I can't comment on that service. Overall, a good, solid location to get your Starbucks fix. I've been going here for the past 5 years on my way to work and for the past 3 months the service has gone down significantly. Their morning team (6am-7am) is super unfriendly and struggles to connect with most customers. I normally place a mobile order to be in and out very efficiently, and the past 4 orders I placed at least one item of my order was unable to be fulfilled. I asked on two occasions to just be refunded, since I didn't have the time to wait for them to make something else. They said they would refund me, and I still have the full charges on the order. At other Starbucks locations, menu items are unable to be ordered on the mobile app if they are out of a specific item. I'm not sure if they don't have a good inventory control or what part of the process is lacking, since all items show as available, but actually majority of them recently have not been able to be made. Entering was greeted with a warm welcome and the interior is nicely spaced and pleasantly clean! Menu options are up to date and even though the baristas were wildly busy, they had the ability to conquer walk in, drive thru and mobile orders with a smile! I ordered a grande dirty chai tea latte with nonfat milk and an extra shot of expresso along with a sausage, egg & cheese sandwich on a flat biscuit. My beverage and sandwich was served hot and tasted great. They were also pretty fast with preparing it. Overall, it has a great vibe and the staff members helped create a positive experience. The only thing you need to be aware of is "the parking," as noted in several other Yelp reviews! When I was there, they were actually digging up a part of the pavement right in front of Starbuck's! In addition, with surrounding construction going on in the area, you have to be extra careful and alert to avoid any possible accidents (from congestion) or damage to your car. This is pretty much your classic Starbucks. It's got tables with power outlets close by to charge any electronic appliances. There are 2 bathrooms and they are usually pretty clean. Parking can be a little bit harder to find later in the day as many of the spots have 30 minute parking limits. What has differentiated this Starbucks from the million other ones for me is the personal touch. There are certain staff members here that go the extra mile and make an effort to remember you for your subsequent visits. One example, about half a year ago, I was a little bit under the weather, and a staff member noticed and immediately offered to make a lemonade combined with hot tea concoction that she felt would help with my symptoms. It worked like a charm. But what really stood out to me was that she noticed and thoughtfully suggested a drink that would help. I have never had a bad experience with the staff here and this is one of the reasons why I continue to come to this particular Starbucks whenever I am in the area. What can be said about such a national and standardized chain? For the longest time I couldn't figure our how to write a useful Starbucks review -- they're all so identical. However, I recently discovered the "Grounds for Your Garden" program. This is a corporate-mandated policy to give out the used grinds for free to any customer that asks (official link: http://www.starbucks.com/responsibility/environment/recycling). FYI for those of us with gardens and/or lawns, coffee grinds are one of the best organic fertilizers. You can also use them as compost or feed them to your vermiculture bin (aka worm farm) if that is how you roll. Free! It's hit and miss which stores participate in the program, hence the basis of my review. Starbucks Windy Hill is where I get most of my grinds, so everyone in the store seems to be aware of the program. These guys and gals will give you as many used grinds as they have without complaining about your atypical request. They leave the grinds in the huge plastic trash bags, which means maximum yield. I often leave looking like Santa / a crazy bum with some 30+ lbs of grinds over my shoulder. #1 store for picking up grinds I've found so far. Footnote: I've also had a bunch of actual beverages here. The baristas are very friendly, moderately speedy, and the drinks taste great. The custom-made frappucinos I've had (soy light strawberries and creme) have been much better than the former one-size-fits-all variety. read more
