I've seen a few yelp reviews say this place is a little ummmm pretentious or overhyped, well yes they don't do customizations and they really don't want you on your phones when you order but honestly, their drinks are just worth it I always order their Wiener Schokolade in the smallest size and that's only because I do like the strong taste of the coffee when its smaller and don't want to over indulge (it does get sweeter when you order the larger sizes, and remember what I said about no customization) We also had a croissant, it was fine as an accompaniment but nothing amazing.

The shop was…read morefilled with folks in line to pay for their selected buns and pastries and folks off to one side waiting for the drinks they ordered. The staff was hustling the best they could. I had ordered two cakes online and only needed to pick up. The peculiar thing is neither the provided phone number nor the email received confirmation of the purchase. I should have saved a screenshot, but for once, I trusted the system but the system failed. Anyway, I was hoping for the best when I entered, since we did have a credit card charge notification. Anyway, two staff members are at the front, though only one was working the register ringing up pastries and taking orders for drinks, etc. After standing in line for a second, I decided to be bold, left the line, and approached the other staff member saying I am picking up a cake order. She asked for order number. Yikes, I do not have that. After some back and forward and I asked if she can look up by my name, she said no. When I repeated two cakes and told her what they were, she said, "Did you say two cakes?" I almost wanted to laugh, since I have said it about ten times by then. My order must have been the only one with two cakes because she suddenly found it and even asked me to verify my name. Magical, they do have my name after all. I decided not to ding the rating since their search is locked to order number. I suspect she scrolled through screens to find the order. Although picking up the cakes were borderline sweat-inducing, both cakes turned out to be winners for the party of eleven people. Statistically, nine out of eleven are classic Americans who have never had Taiwanese cakes or lower sweetness cakes. I was pleased these cakes proved to be a hit for those unfamiliar with this baseline. Everyone sampled a small portion of both cakes, and we had about a combined 2/3 cakes left. I estimate an 8" cake is 8 servings. These cakes are relatively lower cost than many other Asian and non-Asian bakeries in the area. 8" Red Velvet, $38 Menu: Traditional red velvet cake layered with vanilla cream cheese 8" Deluxe Chocolate Mousse, $40 Menu: Chocolate chiffon cake layered with chocolate mousse and dusted with sweet snow sugar and cocoa powder Side note: These cakes are top decorated, meaning if you want "Happy Birthday", it is a separate piece to add to the cake.

Pretty cool find if you are ever in the neighborhood!…read more Mountlake Terrace is not a place I frequently visit, but I did because of the convenience with the light rail - it's about a 9-minute walk from the light rail station. The interior has a warm and cozy vibe; I also dig the lighting. There's a good amount and variety of seating. They don't have outlets on the floor at the benches in the center, but there are a few outlets on the walls, so if you need to charge your devices I recommend sitting at the chairs next to the treasure chest (where I'm writing this review lol). Space seems very dog friendly, and there are 2 tables outside where the fur baby pawrents would typically sit with their fur babies. I also saw dog treats at the cashier that dog owners are free to take. I guess if you wanted to eat them you could, but I would judge you. For my drink, I got the Woodsman - opted for iced, large size, and whole milk. The drink was very chai spice-forward, which I loved. The staff member who took my order asked for my name, and later on when I went up to inquire the WiFi password, he addressed me by name - impressive. The owner (?), Heather, also thanked me for coming here after I picked up my drink. Needless to say, super friendly people. I didn't get a pastry or sandwich, but that's the goal for my next visit!

They have pretty typical Korean bakery fare and pricing seems to be just a bit higher than competitors, probably somewhere around a 10% premium compared to similar family owned bakeries. On my visit I got two pastries to try: Soboro Cream ($3.49) - Instead of a delicately crackly cookie crust, this bun has a much softer, almost moist topping, which may be due to them placing the bread in the packaging before being fully cooled off, allowing the bun to steam too much. There's a bunch of sweetened stabilized cream inside that's sweet and oily. The bread itself is kind of dry and crumbly, either not a typical milk bread recipe or perhaps it had been sitting on the shelf for too long. (2/5) Corn Mochi ($5.99) - This comes with six pieces. The corn mochi has a nice chewy tapioca flour base. There's black sesame sprinkled throughout giving a burst of nutty flavor. I expected to see whole corn kernels baked inside but I think they just use corn flour in the dough. It's way less sweet than the soboro. Texturewise, the inside is bouncy while the outside has a harder baked crust. (4/5) Overall Le Bon Patisserie is a pretty average Asian grocery store-paired bakery. It's more of a place to buy bread for convenience rather than anything special, but it does the job decently well.

I am always intensely disappointed with myself for not remembering how much it sucks, especially with 85 Degrees bakery just down the block. My latest foray led me to two loaves of milk bread for $11!!!! WTF? First of all, the two loaves look absolutely different... one is a square, and the other one is more like the milk bread shape. The lady behind the counter assured me they are the same. Spoiler alert: they are not, but they are equally awful. For those of you who knows REAL Japanese milk bread, it is like magic. I f***in' love milk bread... and while I don't use drugs, I imagine the euphoria I feel when I bite into milk bread is similar to a drug high. La Bon's milk bread is literally the worst white bread I have EVER tasted. It's worst than any grocery store brand and tastes like paper mache, wait, no.... I ate paper mache as a kid and this is far far worse. The pure and utter sadness I feel every time I put a piece of that shitty white cardboard into my mouth is worthy of a country western song. And everything else from that place tastes like cardboard. DO NOT GO. Or if you do, just be forewarned.... godspeed.

I have visited for takeout, dined onsite solo, or with others. It was really nice to receive a generous gift card from other family members. Interior pretty much has stayed the same, with some addition of merch, and plushies on a front bench by the entrance. Your attention will be drawn to their pastry case. Pro tip: make sure to show up in the morning for better selection for both sweet and savory items. Their pastries are baked fresh onsite, but I've made the mistake of showing up midday and towards closing and their pastry case would be slim pickings. They also have a great variety of beverages available too. Espresso, teas, and milk teas as examples. The mocha has improved, very coffee forward and not cloyingly sweet. Just needs to be hotter temp wise, but that's just me. My favorite go tos has been variable depending on availability, but recent visits have been their ham and cheese croissants. I greatly appreciate the offer to have it warmed up if dining onsite. It's just a strange pairing to place such tasty pastries on a paper plate and then provided flatware, knife & fork or just a fork. I appreciate that this indie bakeshop & cafe has been going strong and steady since 2016, so coming up on a decade! Flying under the radar, but iykyk this is a popular destination. An added star and definitely recommended whether for takeout or enjoyed onsite!
