I don't want to oversell it but, quite possibly the best Starbucks in Leeds to buy a coffee, especially a Starbucks coffee, is the outlet near McDonalds and ticket booths. Now after not wanting to oversell train station Starbucks, I really don't want to come across as a freak, but I have tried pretty much all of the Starbucks in Leeds, from Albion Street near Next and Virgin Megastores/Zavvi/Head, to Briggate on the left and Briggate on the right a.k.a Borders Starbucks. I've been in The Light, up the road and around the corner. I heart the Starbucks.
For a long time Briggate on the left used to be a firm favourite, but over the past couple of years it appears standards have slipped and after three attempts of an iced caramel macchiato and a snappy "I know how to do my job", the bags of attitude and lack lustre appeal of the staff turned me off from going again. All started well with Starbucks on the right a.k.a Borders Starbucks, but after a round of five varied drinks and none of them full of cup and a ten minute delay, I decided it was the first of three strikes and then it was out.
Train station Starbucks is my favourite for many reasons, the first being, that despite how busy the train station is, the take order, pay for order, pick up order routine is down to perfection. The drinks no matter how customised are always delivered as requested, never over-boiled milk, espresso shots are never dead (10 second rule), and the staff are always helpful with coffee advice, suggestions, knowledge or alternatives to coffee orders. There's also ample space to sit down and enjoy the beverage before hopping the train or embarking on shopping/work life.
I also did a little 'is it just me or is it the best in Leeds' survey amongst my friends, and I have to say 100% were in agreement.
If you want a good quality Starbucks, this is it. read more
