As a franchise store, some services such as mobile ordering are not offered here, and prices do seem higher than in regular stores. My Venti Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte for example cost over 8% more than a regular store, which for me is disappointing, as I find the drinks to be slightly overpriced already. As stated, the store is fairly modern and nice inside, it has a good number of tables with mostly comfortable seating, it is relatively comfortable to spend time, sitting back and relax, while also having a drive-thru if you're in a hurry or simply want to grab and go with your drink. Late openings until 21:30 are handy, especially with many of their Leeds city centre locations shutting much earlier. I was pleased with the quality of my Venti Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte, it was the bright orange colour I love, and they were generous with the pumpkin flavouring, I have found in the 2022 season that many stores simply are skimping on the pumpkin, but this isn't the case here! The other members of my party also enjoyed their drinks. 3* - A comfortable Starbucks store, they really do need to work on the pricing and improving the offerings, I don't see why improving certain aspects of the experience couldn't be possible as other franchise locations, even locations owned by the same franchise partner, EuroGarages have done the same.

On a more personal milestone, this branch of Starbucks is the 99th branch I've visited and reviewed now, mainly across the UK yet also including European countries such as France, Spain and Germany. This Starbucks store is small, there is only limited seating, hence I was forced to sit far behind in the Light Centre, the connection to the Starbucks wifi isn't great there, for example they still use the old BT wifi, and not the new one which some stores have started to use now, also being so far back I was connecting to numerous different wifs from the likes of O2 Wifi, and Sky The Cloud. Not being able to sit in branch due to limited space was dissapointing, I also struggled to get a straw due to where they were located but a member of staff got one for me. This store doesn't seem to support Mobile Order and Pay, yet is still a licensed Starbucks store and owned by Starbucks, they accept Starbucks cards and charge regular prices to any other branch whether you're in Leeds, London, Manchester or anywhere else. I ordered a Venti Iced Gingerbread Latte, and there was some original communication difficult when I said "I'll leave it", the staff member thought I wanted no cream, I originally began to walk off before I asked if they would make some up for me, in which they replied yes. There were two members of staff working, both of them seemed really friendly, however the man who didn't appear to be a trainee did make a few mistakes, for example he originally tried to do my drink as a Frappucinio, until the girl who served me stopped him and explained it was an Iced Latte. My drink quality was good overall, and it was presented to me rather quickly with a great amount of gingerbread cream which was cool. The overall look and feel of the store overall wasn't great however, perhaps it was in need of some sort of refurb, the doors going into the store from The Light weren't too wide, and they seemed closed despite Starbucks seating being just outside it, hence it seemed really unwelcoming in that regard which was a shame. Drink quality - Above average Service - Average to above average Overall branch feel - Poor Due to huge issues with the overall feel of the branch and the fact mobile order and pay isn't supported and a lack of seating often meaning you have to sit outside in The Light Mall, rather than in the store, I sadly feel the highest rating I can award this store is a two-star rating.

The store is fairly modern and nice, with a good amount of comfortable seating, the staff seemed friendly enough, and despite being a franchise location, prices seemed near enough in line with a corporate-owned store, which was good to see. This is a useful Starbucks store, being so close to the city centre, but having the added benefit of evening openings until 10 pm, a drive-thru, and also free parking right outside. As a franchise location, the prices do differ slightly from the corporate-owned stores, it'd set you back an extra 30 p on a standard large latte, but unusually my Venti Iced White Mocha was 5 p cheaper here. I did find the interior to be a little dark, as they've tried to go with lighting that looks unique and trendy, rather than something more practical. The selection of comfortable seats was scarce and compact, compared to the harder wooden seats which seemed more plentiful. Unfortunately the team serving the coffee managed to get a simple order wrong by adding Hazelnut syrup to one of the coffees. As a diabetic I found that coffee undrinkable (too late to return it) and totally alien to what I drink. What if I had a nut allergy? Difficuly to understand how a simple order can go wrong, but there was a lot of chatter by the staff, but a message to who is in charge, concentrate and get it correct. If Ihave to use Starbucks at another station, I will be very wary as to what is served. Not a good experience, but memorable for all the wrong reasons. Roger Porch

It is one of the few remaining Starbucks to follow the old store layout/colour scheme, which I haven't seen since 2017, the store still has a nice feel to it. I decided to try the new Strawberry Acai Refresha, my drink was pretty good, the baristas were also friendly and helped offer recommendations, such as making the drink with lemonade instead of water, which make the drink all the more refreshing. The pricing can be slightly higher here, due to this being a franchise store, which is frustrating, they do however support mobile ordering and Starbucks Rewards, which isn't too bad. 3* - Solid, average Starbucks store. I…read morereally like the recent approach from Starbucks of making stores inside Sainsbury's locations, as it means you can grab a coffee while doing your shopping, or simply out and about and pass a town the store is in. The only downside is the store's opening hours are dictated by Sainsbury's, and they're forced to close at 5 pm on a Sunday due to Sunday Trading laws affecting Sainsbury's The location is good, it is right at the front of the store, meaning you are able to get in and out of Starbucks, without having to go through Sainsbury's, which I appreciate. The interior is large and modern and they have lots of comfortable seating - sadly I didn't notice any plug sockets apart from two lots, which strangely were nowhere near the tables. The staff here also seem friendly. I ordered a Venti Toffee Nut Cream Cold Brew, after sadly being told they had run out of pumpkin spice, even though I visited in late October, even before Halloween! I was impressed with my drink, although I would have liked it to be slightly sweeter, it tasted good and was made well, as a great start to the "Red Cup" season at Starbucks, which is pretty much the only thing I like about Christmas! Prices seem to be the same as a regular Starbucks store, with online ordering supported, despite being located inside a supermarket - again a big plus. 4* - A nice Starbucks location, which is well needed for Ashton-Under-Lyne.

This is a franchise location so prices cost a little more than a regular Starbucks, my drink came to £5.35 which would usually cost £4.80, which is just over 10% more. You are still able to order ahead via the Starbucks app, and you can use your stars to pay for beverages here, so if you're coming here, plan and get more value for your rewards! It's set over two floors, the ground floor has the counter, where you'd order and a small number of seats, but if you head upstairs there's a much larger seating area, with comfortable seating, which is modern and well suited whether you're looking to get some work done or simply relax before heading to a show at the First Direct Arena, or while shopping in the city centre. The baristas seemed friendly enough, although more effort could have been made to keep tables clean, I didn't notice a staff member cleaning tables at any point during the time I spent here, even when they weren't busy and had nothing else to do. The counter was also cluttered with so many syrup bottles right near the drink collection point. I ordered a Venti Iced Blonde White Mocha with an extra shot of espresso and no whipped cream, which is my go-to order right now at Starbucks. My drink was made with care, tasted good and was up to the usual Starbucks standards. They do close at 7 pm, I find this a little early for the city centre, and given the size of the cafe area, they're missing a trick by not opening later to cater for people attending events at the Arena nearby. 4* - It's a good Starbucks, it's spacious and generally quite relaxed for a city centre branch, a couple of issues sure such as the cleanliness and pricing, but I would return.
