They've tried to update their ordering system but it's honestly awful if you order a basic drip coffee. One of the oldest locations in Waco, but one with super fast and friendly service! However, it is an incredibly small Starbucks with very few places to sit and work, so it's definitely not meant to be a sit down and work with your laptop sort of coffee shop. Plus the few tables they did have were quite dirty and crumby. They were out of a lot of things, the two biggest being all but one of their breakfast sandwiches and all Pumpkin Spice drinks, so that was very disappointing. But I decided to try their Apple Crisp Oat milk Shaken Espresso and it is a new seasonal favorite!! read more

I guess all good things come to an end at some point. First time I've left a Starbucks drive thru feeling worse than when I pulled in! There was no good morning welcome to Starbucks what can I get started for you? It was " what can I get you!" I ordered no Thank you it was silent I pulled around. She gave me my amount no smile then I gave my gift card and Credit card since I didn't know balance on gift card. She handed me my drink and then my two cards saying "you had enough" and I asked " does it tell you the balance she walked away saying nothing! I had thanked her when she handed me my coffee again silence! I sat there for a second watching her walk away I know she saw me still there but she then walked out of my sight. The price is a little high but they have an app that let's you earn points to use towards a purchase on certain things. And some locations do not know how to fill the cup up and especially make it worth paying for it. But it tastes delicious! I've never met a rude employee. Came by with a mobile order for 2 refreshers no inclusions, placed it 5 minutes prior and the lady was very rude and told us to pull around to the patio where we waited for 10 minutes just to receive them. As a former barista, I know for a fact it makes no difference placing a mobile order versus ordering at the box. Also, the drinks were the two easiest drinks to make. We went through the drive thru and ordered 3 drinks plus a long don fog iced tea latte and was told that I was not allowed to order that at the drive thru, that we have to go inside and order it. I went inside and ordered and asked to speak to a manger, I was told I was speaking to an assistant manager, so I asked why I was not allowed to order in the drive they and was told I could and I said well I was just told I had come inside and order, so why? She never answered my question and just said 'we can make it for you now'. I just said thanks. Then the drink wasn't even good. I travel from Dallas to a small town two hours south of Waco a few times a year and always stop here. Every time I'm even more disgusted than the last time. The service isn't great but that's about half the time and college kids work there so I'm not too surprised. My husband does say they don't make good coffee there. But THE BATHROOMS! And overall cleanliness of the store. It's so gross. If you think avoiding the fast good restaurant to go take a potty break at the Starbucks is a good idea, it's likely that you're wrong. I think the kids working there think they're too cool to clean bathrooms. I've literally seen a woman walk in there with a dog (not a seeing eye dog, just a regular dog) and the employee acted like they were too scared to say anything. Today was my last day going there. While this Starbuck's is in a great location (any roadtripper driving down 35 would be happy to stop in), I agree with other Yelpers. It's not worth the stop. Customer service was just a struggle. Firstly, I went to the restroom and saw that one of the staff members did not was her hands after flushing the toilet! Then she was behind the counter, folding closed a coffee bag. Maybe she didn't go. I don't know. But whatever you do in the stall, a hand-washing is required after you come out!!!! At the cash register, I asked for the new Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew coffee. The guy told me I could get an iced coffee instead because they were out. Alright. So we order a scone and a few other things. He's pretty dry and when I come back to order a gift card and accidentally say $5 instead of $10, he gets annoyed but then puts the right amount on there. We get our drinks and no scone. I go back to the guy to ask about the scone, nicely, and he just walks over to the microwave, throws the scone in the microwave, pops it in the paper wrapper, and hands it to me. This location has gotten a lot better in the past few years as far as wait time goes, but when I stopped in today, two things made this visit so notably unpleasant that I felt compelled to immediately leave a review: 1) the pastry case is full of unappetizingly displayed items--uncooked versions of the sous vide bites, a fly on the pastries, uncooked oats dumped in a bowl...and 2) Brent, one of the baristas, has an incredibly rude attitude when I asked him two questions. First, when I said, "The inside of this 'warmed' chocolate croissant is still cold," he looked at me like it was supposed to be that way, and acted like it was a big hassle to get me one that WAS warm. Then, when my drink had no sleeve on it, I asked where I could find one (most stores have one obviously placed near where you pick the drinks up). He just looked at me like I was so stupid, and pointed at what looked like a behind-the-drink-counter section that I couldn't get to. Turns out he was pointing to the little station with all the napkins/sweeteners, but...I mean...there was a *wall* between where he was pointing and where it was, and he could have used actual words to help out? Stopped in for a little break from driving... Ordered my usual drink along with a gluten-free egg white sandwich. The baristas were putting out the coffee so fast, I was sure that the customers couldn't keep up. After about 15 minutes I inquired about my sandwich... I thought maybe they were making the bread from scratch. ;) Oops... They forgot to hand me my sandwich with the order. Another sandwich was quickly made and put in the bag hot along with the original sandwich that had apparently cooled. After at least a dozen apologies I was sent upon my way. THIS, my fellow Yelpers, is excellent customer service. We all make mistakes...we're human and we make them well. It's how we handle them that matters.
