Unfortunately, my eggs were a bit better done than I like them, but the meal was still edible, while we were eating and our friends were waiting for their food, the waitress admitted that they were short staffed by 2 people (you could really tell!) Later on, we heard they had run out of eggs. Although it is an interesting place, with an eclectic menu, and it's not next door for us, I would not be in a hurry to go back. I would give it one more chance, though, in a while, hoping they get their staffing issues sorted.

The coffee was slightly bitter for my taste, but overall it was good and I enjoyed it. I also ordered an almond bear claw. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it contained raisins, and I'm not a fan of raisins, so I probably wouldn't have chosen it had I known. That said, the pastry itself was fresh and tasty, and the raisins were more of a personal preference issue than a problem with the food. My wife ordered an iced chai latte and absolutely loved it. She often finds chai lattes to be watered down, but she said this one was perfectly sweet, full of flavor, and one of the better ones she's had. The cafe itself is cute, very clean, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The prices were also surprisingly reasonable. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely order from here again.

I had flashbacks of my own at the time I was a barista mopping floors and I recall the disdain I had for customers walking in afterwards, yet there was no look of anger at all for having just walked in. She was totally pleasent and helpful in a beautifully fantastic way! Greeted me with a smile and offered me her recommendation. A coconut americano. It was delicious! Sweetened with coconut syrup and containing Oatmilk as my milk of choice, I really did crave more and am looking forward to when I will return.

I'm a sucker for an egg and cheese croissant, so I generally get that and one of the signature lattes. The Cup of Joy and the Lighthouse lattes are my favorites (choose 12, 16, or 20 ounce). My husband usually gets a breakfast sandwich plus a pastry - recently they had pumpkin roll slices and he loved that. I know they do lunch too but haven't been. There are several tables and chairs, a little free library, a community bulletin board, and various gifts and handicrafts for sale. You can buy local Gato Diablo coffee and several different types of cups/mugs. The atmosphere is usually busy but cheery, and it's often one of the only places in the area that stays open past tourist season. Come in for a cup of joy!

The Bugolgi Long Burger is delicious and worth a try if you are feeling like trying something new and delicious. They also have Bipimbap. Their portions are very generous. You may have trouble finishing. As many businesses have struggled during COVID times, these folks have as well, but they are not giving up. Please support this family owned and operated business and keep your hard earned money local rather than supporting large chains who are often owned internationally. Also, they have some challenges with adjacent businesses inappropriately taking over the parking stalls directly in front of Cafe le Matin.
