We each ordered a cold bottled beer to toast our outing which arrived immediately as we looked over the menu - we both started with a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo which was absolutely delicious and a amazing large portion for the price. My dad ordered one of his favorites, a nicely prepared ribeye steak cooked perfectly and hand cut fries and I ordered a pair of perfectly fried bone-in pork chops (so crispy and delicious) - we both skipped the side vegetables and mashed potatoes and opted for a chilled side salad to keep inline with our healthy entree and appetizer choices. The quality of the food was excellent, the service was outstanding and the prices beyond reasonable. We didn't sign up for a player's card at the casino and probably could of gotten this meal comp'ed with the amount of play prior to having lunch but that's okay since our visits here are infrequent. What I enjoyed most was the aesthetic of the building..it's a historic Opelousas bank turned coffee shop, and I was amazed! The door to the safe still exists, and they've repurposed the inside of the safe to a cute little semi-private seating nook.
