Their pastries are what bring me here, the coffee brings a lot of others. Their blueberry galette is delicious - large flaky pastry, ripe blueberries, with a delicate sweet cheese filling. My friends go to is the Biscuits & Jam or the Ham & Swiss. I picked up an Everything Danish to go home - like an everything croissant with an herbed cream cheese - so good!! Our last visit we were blown away at how fresh and well baked everything was. Even the oatmeal was smooth and creamy. The servers were also so happy to help us select items and tell us about the products. This time, we were an afterthought and seemed liked a nuisance for not knowing what we wanted. I felt like the pastry selection was small compared to the location we went to before. The breakfast sandwich was really thrown together- the last time it was warm and cohesive with a good amount of sauce and the eggs were so fluffy and light. This time very rubbery. The croissant I had was raw/doughy although well flavored. Oatmeal was one big clump versus smooth and velvety. The strawberry matcha was super sweet with almost no "matcha" layer. Our cinnamon roll was over baked with no delicious gooey bits. Seemed like an affluent neighborhood which will support this addition, but maybe an instance where expansion is happening at the expense of quality.

I've tried nearly all of them at this point and while I would say that the pricing is slightly higher than I would have expected, but being a relatively low price point anyway, it's still a nice treat to bring. While they have a variety of coffee drinks and their standard brewed coffee is good, some of their lattes and specialty drinks are a bit over the top and overly sweet. Sticking with the basics and the wonderful baked items will ensure you have a great experience here.

Worth noting: this business has religious overtones to it with multiple Christian decor items around it. PROS: -Love the upstairs area. Upstairs, there were two separate rooms with good seating areas. Both offered enough privacy to feel like you were having a "private" conversation at the coffeehouse and you felt far enough away from the people on their laptops to feel like you weren't disturbing them with your conversations. -While some of the furniture "appears" older and classic, they have nice upgrades. A full-wood table, for example, had outlets built into the table for laptops. -Really friendly staff. We didn't know what to get, but they were really patient with us. -Decent parking around. This is in the busier area of Hilliard, but it's off the beaten path enough that there's decent parking within a one block radius. Lots of free parking options if you're willing to walk a couple blocks too. I didn't look for a dedicated parking lot. -Mini sizes of drinks. Coffee Connections seems to sell a "Mini", a "Small", and a "Large". The Mini appears to be about the size of a couple of espressos, and it's adorable. I could see that being a great size for kids who want to "have coffee like my parents" in a matching cup. -Delicious coffee. I know it's a coffeeshop, but sometimes the vibe is almost as important as the actual product. Coffee Connections has a lovely, small-business vibe but they also have the yummy, sippable coffee to match. Latte was served piping hot, and it was a pleasure to sit and chat while waiting for it to cool down to drink. -Cute outdoor area. A door right off the order counter takes you to their outdoor seating area. Coffee shops with outdoor seating are hard to find, and this one even has beautiful lights strung up for you late-night coffee drinkers. It honestly feels like it'd be a super-cute date night spot in the evenings. CONS: -Built into an older home, Coffee Connections has smaller hallways and older flooring. Nothing seemed dangerous uneven, but if you need lots of space and flat flooring to maneuver, this may not be a good fit.

Since Turkish coffee is prepared without filtering, we were surprised by the layer of grounds on the bottom, but it's part of the taste and uniqueness of the coffee. It is on the stronger side so it paired well with the sweet dessert. I would like to try the coffee with some cream or milk next time. There is very limited places to sit since the shop is small, but it was empty when we were there so the service was quick.
