We came specifically to try them out, and Vallery Farmhouse changes out their flavors every month. They were REALLY fun and all of the flavors matched their descriptions really nicely. If you don't have a sweet tooth, go with the iced coffee flight. Even for two people splitting the hot cocoa flight, we couldn't finish it; we were very sugar'ed-out. It was really cool to be able to share a tasting experience like this outside of the world of beer, and it really added a fun, conversational aspect to the coffee. Their flights are served with straws for the number of people as well to keep everything as independent as possible. -Their whipped cream is lusciously thick. It's almost bordering on a buttercream icing consistency. It's impressive and really unique. I highly recommend trying it on something. -The cafe is huge. They really chose a great location. There are multiple coolers of displayed treats and an entire checkout area with trinkets/clothing, but even with that, there's probably 5-10 tables plus some couches for seating. Nothing feels cramped. -So, so, so, so many treats. Wow. Homemade donuts of multiple kinds (filled long johns and RIDICULOUSLY large glazers with icing on top!), cupcakes, brownies, cakes, cake pops, hot cocoa bombs, and more. Not only can you grab a quick coffee, but you can also great a treat for later - to bring a selection into the office. -We saw multiple people picking up bakery orders to-go. Looks like that's probably something they do here often. -I'm unsure if this place has its own parking lot? The sign on the door encouraged us to park at a next-door business. Assuming they have an agreement with them, this makes for ultra-close parking that's about 20 steps from the front door. -Really well-staffed. It's rare that I see this many employees working together so efficiently, and it deserves to be called out. There were 4-6 (I didn't take an exact count) people working at close on a Saturday afternoon. None of the customers had to wait, and coffee was being served up unexpectedly fast for anyone who ordered. Fantastic job staffing. CONS: -The hours are a little rough if you're coming here as a destination. It's probably the right span if you're in London already and want coffee, but for driving in from out of town with a 9-to-5 job, the only workable timespan is on Saturday before 2PM. -The flights are a little expensive at $15-20 for 4/5 taster-sized drinks. However, I know how much work goes into preparing a coffee/cocoa drink - regardless of size, so I'd guess that most of the cost is employee labor. They're probably a pain in the ass to make. -The bathroom is on the "very small" size, and I only saw the one bathroom. Someone with accessibility issues would probably find it very difficult to use, and wheelchair users will find it impossible (the chair won't fit in the room).

This was a busy bakery with good looking pastries. They have a drive-thru and walk-in service. There was a cold cooler of custom made cakes ready for pick up. The cakes looked pretty neat! This is a large open space and was cold inside. I ended up getting some items to go because it was too cold to take off my coat. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich, peanut butter filled cupcake, a long john donut, and a chai tea. The chai tea latte was good. The rest of the food was meh. I didn't finish eating the rest of the cupcake and the sandwich was very basic and kind of tasted funny. Sadly this was not quite what I was hoping for on a cold wintery day and a trek from the Columbus area.

So I was really happy when I saw that this was going to open right around the corner from the school at which I teach. I was in on the Grand Opening day (Friday, Mar 3) and the place was hopping at 645 am. The service was quick and my peanut butter latte (nonfat) was served quickly and it was HOT. The expresso machine can be a tricky machine and shots can go wrong right away, it was great. The café was full, there were students dressed like they just woke up (who I would see later dressed better at school) in line behind me. Students were coming in to school with Scout's cups and drinks in hand. They all said the same thing, they were happy with the product and the price. I failed to mention the biscotti that I purchased. It was outsourced somewhere locally and it was really good too. They have paired well with a local baker. The dude in charge (I think he was the manager) was running bagels from the back while his staff was cranking out the drinks. It was great. I went back this morning (Mon) and it was quiet. I got the same service and got to talk to the dude (Tony). He is very proud of the café that he, his sister, and other partners have created. It was clear that he was excited about the business venture. They have some flavors at the bar that they must be experimenting with , they were not on the menu and will probably not be around long. I had a Toasted Marshmallow latte this morning and it was even better than the PB one. It was really good. Service was quick and friendly. Everyone seemed awake, not grumpy. Many times morning employees can be very unfriendly, but that was not the case here. It was a great experience. I am used to coffee house type experiences in Columbus, and the SHort North. Scout's has a great opportunity to be the neighborhood place. I hope the locals all stop in on their way to work. It was clean, it was inexpensive (cheaper than Columbus prices) and delicious. Since it's located downtown, parking can be a little more challenging, but that's to be expected and was well worth it. The staff was one of the highlights of our visit. The girls working were friendly, personable, and very knowledgeable about the menu. They took the time to answer questions and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we walked in. As two moms meeting for coffee with young children, we especially appreciated that they offered smoothies for the kids. While the flexible/ inclusive seating options at this location were somewhat limited, the space was so warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed that it didn't matter. The atmosphere felt comfortable and welcoming, making it easy to settle in and enjoy our time together. Great drinks, great service, and a cozy environment that encourages you to stay awhile. We'll definitely be back.
