The chocolate, the dried fruit, and hazelnut notes come through beautifully, and the beans themselves are luxurious: smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced without any bitterness or burnt taste. The ambience is incredible-- set in what used to be an old theater, the space is full of charm and creativity. There are games, a community piano, and a vibe that's calm, relaxing, fun, and fresh all at once. The service is equally impressive. The barista was super knowledgeable and genuinely excited to answer all my questions about drinks and recommendations--no "let me check," just confident, informed guidance. Zoe's Café & Events is a lovely little spot for coffee, creativity, and getting some work done…read more The ambience is one of my favorite things about this café. It's light, refreshing, airy, cozy casual, and artistic all at once. There are multiple seating options, from traditional tables and chairs to couches, plus an event room tucked off to the side. There's artwork throughout the space, and it's obvious that a lot of thought and consideration went into the decor. It's definitely Instagram photo worthy without feeling overly curated or uncomfortable. The food and drink selection is also quite varied. They have everything from coffee and specialty drinks to pastries and sandwiches, so there's plenty to choose from whether you're stopping in for a quick drink or looking for something more substantial. I personally only came in for a drink, but I was impressed by the variety of options. I ordered their Matcha brown sugar latte, which is one of their fall signature drinks, and it was absolutely amazing. If you're someone who's interested in trying matcha but isn't sure about the earthy flavor, I definitely recommend starting with something like this. The brown sugar adds enough sweetness to mellow out the earthy Matcha flavor without completely overpowering it. The service was decent. The barista were polite and friendly, but I did find that they weren't particularly knowledgeable about the entire menu. For a café with a fairly extensive drink selection, that can make it difficult when you're looking for a recommendation or have questions about something you haven't tried before. If the person behind the counter hasn't tried certain drinks themselves, they understandably may not be able to give much insight into what to expect. It's a small thing, but having staff who are familiar with the menu can make a big difference in the overall experience. Overall, Zoe's is a great place to spend some time. Whether you're catching up with friends, working on a paper or project for school or work, reading a book, or simply wanting to sit somewhere comfortable with a good drink, it fits the bill. The atmosphere makes you want to stay a while, and that matcha brown sugar latte alone is worth coming back for.
