I placed a mobile order, and it was ready within 20 minutes. It was busy, as usual, so it took a little longer than the waiting time predicted (7-14 minutes) but not a long wait nonetheless. I ordered two strawberry lemonade açaí refreshers, and ladies, the color was perfect. I mean pink, pink, like very the right shade. And they were perfectly cold. The girl that gave me the drinks was very kind, despite the bustling atmosphere. I will go here again! ! read more

Starbucks - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Effingham, Illinois

Very nice Starbucks ! Made my drinks correctly. Got a good breakfast sandwhich ! The staff was very nice. This was a good exit stop.

The barista asked me out! My husband Darryl will be giving you a phone call! The drink was nice.

This location is a legacy Starbucks. It has been here for decades. I am grateful for it for traveling. It is in a coffee desert. The service is reliable. The store is clean and the bathrooms are always available. Today they were out of a key ingredient for drinks but I made do. Thanks for the caffeine for the road!! read more

We are traveling and stopped off for Gas. Starbucks is close by and it was mid-morning so a snack and drink were in order. The store employees were wearing masks and a sign on the door requested you wear a mask upon entry. It is not often they get an order wrong but this time it was messed up big time. I am glad I tasted it before driving off. I ordered a chai tea with soy, iced and when I took my first swig my taste buds were assaulted. . I received an iced latte. You may ask what is wrong with that but I am a non coffee drinker and a swig of Coffee to me is like licking an ashtray. But Starbucks sticks true to their policy and made it right by making me the correct drink. I felt bad throwing it out but the only other person in our vehicle Who does drink coffee does not like it iced. So I am a happy camper heading down the Road with a tasty chai iced tea. My husband tried the Dragon drink and loved it. I tried it and pulled the cap off to get a taste of the " errors" floating on the top. The drink is sweet and tasty but the Floating "berries" are something more on the freeze dried variety. read more

45 mins for 2 drinks that were ordered ahead is absolutely crazy. God bless the baristas cause they were jobbin

Never great to get a hair in your drink. Inside cashier who took our drink orders took 7 more orders from people behind us before warming up our sandwiches. There were other staff whom she could have asked to help her if she could not weave that in. And she kept interrupting our ordering to help another staff person find stuff in cabinets. Are you focused on the customer or not? Service was not bad but could have been better. I have had tastier versions of the drink I ordered, which did not include a hair. read more

Decent SBUX. What makes it "decent" you ask...well I'll tell you. The pleasantries were scarce and personalities non-existent. I didn't even receive a "Thank you" and we all know that's free of charge. What's nice about this location is their setup. It was Where are you inviting. Open dining space filled with high tops & tables for groups. Sofa chair seating in the corner for those seeking solitude. Charging outlets so you're never out of juice. I also liked the selection of ceramic mugs, colorful tumblers, coffee and other merchandise. The shelves were neatly organized. The drive-thru is another plus. Not being able to get over the dry service I'm settling at a 2.8 star rating on the Christy Scale. ~Christy read more

This place creates a safety hazard with its drive through operation. The line of cars is easily 20 cars long and extends out onto Keller Drive. Cars needing to turn right onto Avenue of Mid America are blocked by this line. If Starbucks cannot manage the drive through lab then they need to close it. This is a safety hazard. read more

Every time I've went for the past two weeks they've been closed at 3pm..... I'm not sure why, but bad for business and coffee drinkers.

Ok so, I always prefer to explore and support my 'locals.' This can be verified by many of my past cross country roadtrip posts. However, this past year I gained a few members in my household which hampers my abandoned freedom a bit. When seeking a java jolt Starbucks is an expected consistent experience for a quickie. This location was such the case. My window clerk was perky and sporting some shocking purple (or was it magenta?) in her hair. They got our (simple) order correct. I thought I'd inquire about their competitors. I don't think this should be something to frown upon, in fact a gracious business should always support others in their industry. This young lady obliged me with a couple of citations to include a 'call out' to her previous employer. All this earned them four stars. They missed a fifth star because I could hear, in the background, my server getting the fifth degree for obliging me. I find such ungenerous behavior irksome. Come on folks, remember that someone is always watching. And being 'good folk' is just darn good behavior. read more

I find this place extremely lazy and clueless with their work. I have tried using my stars to get a free drink and the girl working completely ignored my request and none of my stars were used. They were out of pretty much everything..a whole paper list of items that aren't available, really?! This place either needs to get their stuff in order. I am over the top disappointed. Edwardsville would never do this!! read more

Awful customer service and rude employees! Filed a complaint with the BBB. Will never come to the store again!

not an avid coffee drinker but recently found a drink that I love at another Starbucks - brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso. The one that I got at Effingham's location was bland and too milky. I think the completely forgot the brown sugar and cinnamon. I was very let down as I expected some consistency across stores. Now going home to see what I can add to make it better! read more

We walked into the store because the drive thru line was very long. We ordered a white chocolate mocha latte. The people ahead of us got their order, the woman behind us got her order. But after 20 minutes they hadn't even started ours. We finally asked for our money back. It looked like that most of the workers were serving the drive thru. If I ever go back I will only use the drive thru. I understand how traffic can back up so the drive thru line needs to move. But they should post a sign that tells you'll have long wait if you order inside. read more

Ordered my drinks. Asked POLITELY if they could provide us with a small bag of ice to keep some leftover food cold. Nickie, the barista, shocked me with her answer and attitude. Embarrassed the friendly girl at the register too. You'd have thought I asked for Chinese food, or pizza...no, just a small bag of ice. Rude. Won't be back. read more

Disappointing the quality of work ethic. Years ago I worked at Starbucks & customer service was a priority. But maybe the emphasis is no longer there, so when you ask why a drink is not full they answer with another question instead of taking accountability. I came here on my way to Columbia, MO from Indianapolis, IN. I stopped to charge my phone after a panic-inducing near phone death, with about a 3 hour drive still ahead of me. You see, I exclusively travel by the guidance of Google Maps (learning to read a map properly is on my bucket list), or else I get lost. Sad, but true. This store is spacious, clean, and I had no trouble finding an outlet. I am in love with their La Boulange selection! I'm feeling envious of Chicago-area Starbucks customers (apparently this area is a major test market for new products). The baristas here were SO friendly and happy to recommend pastries and talk about the product selections I didn't recognize. I used to work for Starbucks...so I get excited about these things, even they're not destined for my tummy :) The almond croissant is FANTASTIC! I highly recommend it. read more

Love stopping at this Starbucks on our way to the St. Louis Airport. Everyone is always so friendly!

I stopped by for a coffee break on my way through Effingham and I am glad that I did. While this Starbucks location is small, it is also very clean and quaint. The service was fantastic as well as I got served immediately when I walked in. Finally, the bathroom was spotless and I could definitely tell it is kept up hourly. Overall great experience at this Starbucks and I will certainly be making it a regular spot every time I drive through Effingham read more

For the only Starbucks in the middle of nowhere for hundreds of miles around, and the only one from Chicago to Little Rock on the I-57, this place was super-speedy and efficient. (Unlike other similar nowhere Starbucks where the line is a half hour long, like the one from LA to Bakersfield on the 5 in Lebec.) What a godsend! By the way, Starbucks, why don't you make an Effingham, IL Starbucks mug? You would sell a gazillion of those. read more

This Starbucks is one of the most unprofessional establishments I have been to. It took me 20 minutes to get a refresher. The employees are talking and having a social hour while making drinks and talking to a customer over the counter who appeared to be an employee on break. Employees would also stop in the middle of making drinks to look at something the other employee made saying "it looks like a tiger"...like what? Effingham is a prime stop for travelers who are trying to be in and out. I understand having to wait when it is busy but the amount of time it took to make a single drink was unacceptable. I used to work at Dunkin Donuts and I know that you need to have a sense of urgency and focus that is needed to get orders out. Didn't feel like the customers were a priority nor their job duties. Overall, giving two stars because bathrooms are very clean. read more

I know this location is busy because it's likely the only Starbucks on all of I-57 for CHI to MEM travelers, but get it together... I stopped in looking forward to splurging on a latte during my 8 hour drive. The crew was super anxious and spazzy. Nobody really spoke to me more than the bare minimum. My $7 drink tasted like crap. And probably the worst part of my visit was the store manager hustling toward the bathrooms and slammed into me while walking by. No apology. No acknowledgement of it. Just kept going. When I tried to use the restroom after ordering my drink, she came out of one and just stated she was trying to clean it. No smile...no sorry for the inconvenience... read more

it's not frequent you see a SB establishment that focuses on drive-thru service like this one and yet accessible inside as well: i love it. when it's spitting some nasty rain outside and you don't want to leave the warmth of your vehicle to brace the cold to get your brew, check this place out. it was a godsend during a road trip this weekend and i could not be happier. the girl at the window was efficient and sweet (saying, "i love your doggie," looking at my back window at my golden retriever), got our orders under a few minutes, and it was EXACTLY what we ordered. i will come back when we drive through indiana to head back to the midwest this january. it really doesn't get any better than this: SB i heart you, your service, and your foresight on putting this place up along a very busy interstate. read more
