Years and years ago me and some coworkers talked about Starbucks and how we thought the chain would work in Sweden. The conclusion was that it would work because of the hype of the brand, but that coffee wise they'd had to up their game.
These days Starbucks has opened 5 locations in Stockholm alone, and more outside the city and from the looks of it they seem to be doing pretty good. This Starbucks, located in the MOOD galleria, is a newer location that I happened to run into one day when walking in the city. The place was nice, clean, big and roomy. One of the other Starbucks I've been too was not as roomy and felt very cramped, so this was a pleasant surprise.
The people working here are also very friendly and helpful. First time I was there we joked around with the guys, second time the guy was english speaking so I felt right at home (I always feel like ordering in English every time I go there anyways, it feels more natural for me haha). We got what we ordered and despite a lunch rush we got it pretty quick.
It does seem like Starbucks have taken the fika concept into consideration because when ordering in you get your coffee in a regular coffee mug, and your pastry (gotta have a pastry with coffee hehe) on a plate.
If you're wandering around in Stockholm and - despite having plentiful of cafes around you - you feel like Starbucks. I'd say go here, it's actually worth it. read more
