Our favorite coffee shop in Stockholm! We stayed in the Sheraton three times, and always enjoyed going down to the Espresso House in the morning for coffee and breakfast. The food's very expensive, but that's just Stockholm, so I don't hold that against them at all. Not only was it far more affordable than the Sheraton breakfast, I also adore the interior: Comfy chairs, a huge mural that makes you feel like you're sitting in an old fashioned library full of books, and a style that is the perfect balance between warm, full of character, and Swedish Modern.
The food's excellent too. We had several of their prepared sandwiches and panini, but my favorite item is the poppyseed muffin with a lemon filling: Heavenly, so soft and smooth with a sweet and tangy interior. I strongly recommend trying this!
The service was wonderful as well, always friendly, prompt and welcoming, even at 7am! (That's more than I can say for my own morning mood usually, except for the days that started at the Espresso House, which always cheered me up.) Oh, and free wireless internet too, though Stockholm in general is a free-wireless haven. read more
