"A CUP ABOVE THE REST" Many boutique coffee houses are…read moreextremely passionate about their coffee, we found Pinnock's in Ripley have gone beyond passionate. They have a variety of different strength coffee beans to suit your taste, with unique flavours. They use a drip process, where the beans are ground freshly for each cup, then using their drip method ensures a smooth, lingering, wonderful cup of coffee. On display there are freshly made, salads, wraps, sandwiches, an indulgent array of cakes and hand made chocolates. We found having brunch with coffee was so relaxing, as we comfortable settled upstairs, in their large lounge area. All of us in the group, agreed this was well worth the drive for brunch and will visit this venue again.

Pinnock's has the amazing combination of quaint cottage house with spectacularly modern coffee and food. The coffee here is supplied by Beanberry Coffee a local micro coffee roaster in Woking and specific blends are created for Pinnock's use. Additionally, it's fair to note that this place only serves "drip" or "filter" coffee. They use V60s (for the coffee connoisseur) but a range of Beanberry's blends and single origins, so it makes for a range and variety of coffees to choose from. The food here is also of good note. We had a sausage roll, and a sausage baguette, both were not greasy nor overly salty as some of these usually go. The proprietors are friendly, and the staff attentive. Sit upstairs for a wonderfully cosy living room feel and an incredibly relaxed atmosphere. Downstairs, the seating is more formal and cafe like. Congrats on their first year alive, and to many more years of good coffee in Surrey please.

Giro - Yum. Chicken bacon avocado panini.

G!ro cycles is a new cafe on the edge of Esher's high street that combines the quintessential coffee + cycle. The atmosphere is busy and full of cyclists finishing group rides when we head in on a Sunday mid morning. Coffee here is served by trained baristas and matches the quality and standard of other independent coffee shops in the area. At the rear is a bike shop teeming with independent bike gear, unlike your chain stores in Guildford and Chertsey. Service is friendly even when time is short and the baristas are well trained and pump out drinks briskly and with ease. Coffee is provided by a local roaster, Beanberry, and is of fine quality. Overall, a great experience. Time to find work from home days so that I can head over and work from this awesome place.

Don't be fooled by the lack of reviews. This place is buzzing. It's honestly a standard cafe size but it becomes packed quickly after a cycling event, before lunch time on the weekends, or right after work. They're menu is predominantly health focused which means you get an array of hip smoothies, oatmeal on the go, and avocado toast. I'm honestly the biggest fan of their coffee. Being a coffee fanatic, I get picky but Giro's is strong and delicious. They also have a diverse list of milk alternatives which is always a plus. I can't speak for how they make cappuccinos or lattes but their Americanos are great. The staff are polite and friendly but they do have a tendency to blast AC during the summer months so go with a cardigan. They have a mini cycling shop at the back of the cafe which is cool to peak at if you're bored from working on your laptop.

    Taylor's - Great seating.

What!? London quality independent coffee shop in the middle of Surrey!? What is the world coming…read moreto? This place CLEARLY doesn't fit the style, decor, and the patrons who regularly ply up and down Station Approach in West Byfleet, but I DON'T CARE! It's clientele are obviously younger, hipsters who live in Surrey and yearn for a bit of London's great coffee scene near their place of abode. The decor inside is a mish-mash of design favorites (see attached picture), and quirkly items - like a drum-set cymbal lamp, and old school whiteboard (that actually does rotate) that display's the fine selection of coffees at Taylor's. Nothing on this street is really all that independent, except for the JJ's Diner right next door. But this, this is a case study in the hopeful revival of the great British high street. Two flat whites, a flip through the Independent on Sunday... Oh, the coffee... Never did a flat white taste this good. It's from organic beans that are roasted on Brewery Road in Woking. WHAT!? A local roastery in Woking?! GET OUT! The flat whites are of an equivalent standard as the coffee shops in East London, but let me say, that there is something better about this coffee now that I know it's is independently roasted, it's not "Union" coffee, nor do I have to travel into London for a great place with a great atmosphere. I was slowly twitching to move back to London, but this place gives me one less reason to move back. I'll never need to sit at home on a Saturday morning trying to read my Monocle magazine with a cup of cafetiere coffee ever again. Taylor's you might have just saved my sanity. Kudos. See you next Saturday.

If you are a coffee connoisseur, or just enjoy an excellent coffee, this could be the place. We enjoyed our coffee, while relaxing in a boutique style, comfortable lounge area. For us a coffee always seems to be more enjoyable in a modern comfortable venue. We intend to visit and enjoy another coffee, made by the same roaster, Taylor's Coffee House Woking. We give this a highly recommended.
