Carbs, eh? They get such a bad rap. But let me ask you this - if you had consumed your body weight…read morein rioja the previous, very late night, what would you want to soak up the alcohol - a salad? I think not. So that is why I have just dragged my weary legs off to Hampton Court Sandwich and Coffee Company, and inhaled a piping hot parma ham and mozzarella panini which was the culinary equivalent of a defibrillator bringing me back to life. I like coming here because the paninis are marginally cheaper than the other sandwich shops. I also occasionally treat myself to the brownies here - large gooey, sticky slices of dense dark chocolate heaven. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and like the other coffee shops in this road, this is a stones throw from Hampton Court palace, so a perfect place to recharge your batteries.

The staff greeting us quickly and the toasted sandwiches here were awesome! Generally, I don't see much difference between a toasted sandwich at a deli and one I can make myself with my generic ex-boxer-branded grilling machine. Maybe it was the panini, maybe it was the feel of the deli with its wooden floors and health and rural vibe. Maybe it was the healthy fruit smoothie made on sight. Whatever it was, I ended up really enjoying my experience here and will be back if ever passing through again. Aside from the food we had, this establishment also has a very organic looking deli for fruit and veg which has a feel of an authentic farmers market. We didn't purchase anything as I wasn't in the market for vegetables at the time but it is a neat extra feature that will attract customers.

Been here a few times and the service is a bit hit and miss. For some strange reason for a cafe I…read morewas met as I entered and they tried to help seat me but were very unhelpful. I thought I'd order a salad as I made the assumption that being Vegetarian cafe with good vegan options they'd have salad on the menu.... Ah they do but none of the two options available contain any salad leaves. So rice & bean salad or cheese and roasted veg..... Very odd Anyway I decided on nachos which look amazing when they arrived... But not the healthy salad I was planning to have. In reply to the owners response... 1. Your member of staff did not greet me when he approached me to ask me if I needed a table for 1. 2. I asked if there were other options like moving tables together and then if I could wait for my friends on a different table as I was early. He didn't seem to want me to do so to which I got irritated and asked if I could just go and find a seat. If your policy is to seat guests it would be a good idea to greet them first right? 3. After ordering my food at the bar. (no table service was offered to me, which is what happens in restaurants) it was brought over to me and looked amazing. 4. My meal was interrupted by the ale member of staff who did not ask me if he could do so but started talking at me telling me that he'd worked for the restaurant for over a year and that he'd seen my review on Google and giving me excuses for why he'd been telling me about what tables I could sit at because it's busy at lunch. Explaining why there isn't any salad on the menu as the weather was cold that morning. At which point my son woke from his nap. He continued talking at me while my food is getting cold, my son is complaining. When he eventually stops talking. I ask him if he thinks that the time to come and talk to me about my review online and give me the reasons behind his actions and the menu would be in the middle of my meal which I was trying to enjoy? He continues to give me excuses and tell me his point. I finally get angry and explain to him he's now also spoiling my meal, and is like him to just leave me alone. 5. Every other member of staff in the cafe that I spoke to were nice, helpful and a pleasure to interact with. 6. Don't worry I won't be coming back to spend my hard earned cash in a place that thinks it's OK to call their customer rude online, when I didn't lowers myself to calling their staff names.

This poses a huge risk to the employees and public health, this could have ended on a bunch of employees falling sick or even worse... infecting members of the public due to asymptomatic employees spreading the corona virus. When contacting the owner of the establishment he was in denial and did not want to discuss matters and was quite unhelpful and rude. Explained to him the detrimental risks of having this establishment do nothing to stop the spread of COVID-19 between the workers and how easy it can be to spread this to the public, when contacting the manager of the shop, I was told that they're following the 2 meters and keeping back to back work, the shop is very small and thus following those to guidelines does nothing to protect the employees if they're not wearing face coverings. A face covering will further protect employees a simple cough could mean an outbreak in that area, according to the owner nothing wrong with the things he does after explaining to him the risks and is wilfully happy to allow its employees and the public to be on risk on his ignorance. It is devastatingly unfair that many businesses loose their livelihood due and some close down and suffer enormous loss, when establishments like this get to operate and profit while other businesses who might be deemed much safer, are shut down due to lockdown. Establishments have been closed down to stop the spread and this establishment is allowed to operate while allowing its employees to be at risk every day that they're open. This shop should be shut down if it allows those risks to happen.
