After a long break from having starbucks, i decided to check out the starbucks in my neighbourhood after they did some renovations and construction work on the outside. I remember the first time i ever had starbucks as a kid was at this same location too. The moment i walked in i was greeted, staff was very bubbly. Store was tidy, no stains or spills visible, im a very observant individual and i notice things even at the corner of my eye lol. But yup they were spotless. Ambiance was pretty quiet yet busy. While i was visiting, i decided to redeem my free starbucks drink birthday offer. The girls were really good at telling me the new items and what drink combinations went well with one another. I ended up going with the largest size and got their purple dragon drink and got them to add their new topping (popping boba) and man was it ever delicious! I devoured that drink shortly after. This location remains to still have a small study area and a few tables outside where you can sit and enjoy a coffee while getting some fresh air. Parking is still shared with the other business surrounding. You can still find the cute cups/ tumblrs and buy coffee beans / syrups etc. I must also add .. they've generally been pretty good with knowing their own inventory on the top of their head. Interestingly enough, there aren't that many Starbucks locations in the Burnaby Heights area. There's also one in the Safeway across the street, but other than that, the next nearest one I can think of is on the other side of PNE. Parking is available in the strip mall, but every spot was full when I walked in. The inside is rather full of (SFU?) tapping away on their laptops. I decided to sit outside. Although it was raining, it wasn't too bad, mainly because we managed to grab the one table next to the propane heater. This heater isn't one of those portable propane tank models. It appears to get the propane from an underground pipe. So the moral of the story is, if it's cold, grab the middle table! The heater is unfortunately insufficient to warm any of the adjacent tables. You can thank me later. One last note: watch the steps by the patio entrances. We saw a guy take a spill on the way out. Other than that, the coffee is what you'd expect. read more

If your in this area, and looking for some java to get you through your day, or just a coffee shop hangout, this is the place to be. Always busy, from the inside, and amazingly the outside, as this place has a nice enclosed patio, I have never really seen this place empty. Line ups frequent this Starbucks on an occasional basis. Located within a plaza, it's a nice fix, as there is parking in the lot and on the street, while you can people watch from inside or out. What is nice is that the patio has heaters just to toast you up on a cold day sitting outside. read more

This place is WAAAYYY too busy during the day, and if you want to sit in one of the many chairs outside of it beware of the smokers. Unfortunately there really isn't another close Starbucks alternative (I think the closest being Hastings and Slocan). I will NOT return. read more

This location is very busy. The parking situation is not ideal as the lot is full or busy with cars coming and going. Also, there does not seem to be enough seats depending on time of day. Service is usually fast. I ordered an eggnog latte to start the holiday season. read more

The traditional Starbucks to go to during Hats Off Day parade!! I am not sure if this is an HQ Starbucks or not. This branch is extremely busy on a regular day and night. Mostly in the mornings because it gets it's regular traffic from the neighbors in the area. It is the Heights! OF COURSE!! They made my regular order, and it came out a little bit too foamy. Dislike. But the taste of it was still good, and they made it extra hot which I like only on a nice winter night. The place is small and packed, but I wish they could expand this and push the Dairy Queen right beside down, as it is a Starbucks and deserves more space. read more

This Starbucks location is one of several coffee establishments along Hastings in Burnaby Heights. Although I'm not a huge fan of being charged a premium for a cup of coffee brewed from over-roasted coffee beans, I do enjoy walking my dog to and from this location. The staff are friendly, my drink is usually made in a jiff, and I haven't encountered the problem of having my drink remade because it wasn't done properly. What else can I say? It's a Starbucks. They offer the same drinks they've been offering for years with the occasional promotion or seasonal beverage. read more

Are all Starbucks the same? Of course not! The product they are selling is very similar between each store, but the atmosphere of each store is quite different. This is a smaller store, with plenty of seating, and is a busy location. Lineups are frequent, and it's got a great covered patio (essential in Vancouver) which is full of the older European crowd on weekday mornings (when I stop in). It's a well run store, well worth stopping by for your coffee and wifi fix :) read more

Just like any other Starbucks just older and dirtier, doesn't matter what day of the week you go this place never looks cleans and on the weekends even worst! Unfortunately there are not many options for decent coffee in the area. Wish they renovated this Starbucks and keep it clean read more

When I was at this Starbucks, I was thristy. So I asked the cashier if I could get a cup of water, she said yes so I went and sat down at a seat. I was at that Starbucks for an hour and they already made five other orders, and I still didn't get my freaking water so I left with the ppl I was hanging with. read more

I am usually in early in the morning. Staff are always friendly and get your order put together quickly. Very accommodating when asked for something a little different. Sometimes there are lineups but they go quickly. The morning staff are so pleasant people don't mind waiting a minute or two. I like the community vibe of this particular Starbucks there are definitely regulars who make it part of their daily routine read more

Love this location!!! The manager is Fantastic!!! She really does care abt her job and is passionate about what she does. The crowd that gathers there is sometimes less then desirable but thats no fault of the establishment. I love this Starbucks I would recommend a steamed milk with a shot of vanilla and a lemon loaf. The coffee here usually comes fairly quickly unless they're very busy. The Wi-Fi here is really fast and is good for doing just about anything online. read more

A lot of Starbucks in this area, but this one at least has some parking. Like most Starbucks, the interior is a just too cold & utilitarian for me. Also, if you are looking for a quiet place to relax, sip your coffee and read the paper, this might not be your cup of tea. There is a lot of activity, especially students, which equals line ups and noise. I'm sure it's great as a student hang out, so it really just depends on what kind of atmosphere you're looking for. read more

I was going to give this Starbucks 5 stars, because the staff is usually very friendly and the restaurant is clean. But, this time, I was treated quite rudely by one of the female baristas named Harmen (not certain of the spelling because she wasn't wearing a name tag) and most of the tables were dirty and so were the floors, so that's why I'm only giving them 2 stars. I had to clean my own table because I didn't want to interrupt the baristas from whatever it was they were doing. I didn't order a coffee, because it was late and only asked for a hot water which I've done at other Starbucks locations before with no problem. The barista informed me that it would be served in a for-here cup, which was odd because she didn't ask if I was ok with that but since I wasn't leaving the restaurant right away I accepted the glass mug. Later on though, when I requested a refill of hot water to take home with me the same barista refused to give me a take out cup insisting that she could only refill the mug. When I asked why I couldn't have a take out cup she said something about saving the planet, but when asked if I were to buy a coffee could I have a take out cup she said yes, which contradicts her argument to "save the planet". She wouldn't relent and was very stubborn, so I left. I've only recently begun going to this Starbucks location, however I've been a customer of Starbucks for many years and never have I been treated with such a degree of rudeness as this young barista displayed. She didn't even apologize for not being able to give me a take out cup, nor would she relent when I said I would prefer a take out cup. So it was an unresolved matter, in the end. read more
