At the time of writing, this location is currently ranked at 2-stars. Seems a little harsh from my experiences. While this isn't my go-to SB, I've always had pleasant enough visits without any issues. The one note I would make about this location is that there isn't a lot of seat inside. On a busy day/time there is a chance you might not have a spot to sit if you're looking to enjoy your drink in the store. Past that, they have always gotten my order correct and my drink has always tasted fine. Not sure what all the is for. I don't know why there are so many low ratings. I ran in there today with a to-go order and I was in a hurry. Austin, one of the baristas, knew this and was abundantly kind and took care of me- I was in and out. Every other barista in there was friendly and all working hard. I ordered an iced latte with 5 scoops of vanilla bean powder, blended with whipped cream. The lady kept trying to get me a frappuccino with vanilla syrup. She kept trying to convince me they were the same. I explained that I do not like the frappuccino blend so I wanted a blended latte. I also did not want vanilla syrup, I wanted vanilla bean powder. She said she would have to charge me extra. She charged me for a frappuccino plus 2 shots of espresso. Then she made me the frappuccino I didn't want. It cost me over $8. Ridiculous! Just Terrible Just absolutely terrible, dirty, slow service and indifferent staff. After a long wait my order was wrong. Ordered a Croissant but got an egg sandwich. Only had short straws so wouldn't reach bottom of my drink. Order came piece meal, mixed up and out of order also for others as well. Staff didn't seem to care. Outside patio filthy with trash. If you are looking for horrible customer service, wait times for a cup of coffee over 22 minutes, no toilet paper in bathroom's, and your order messed up... this Starbucks is perfect for you!!!!! The only friendly people that work here are the ones that take your order at the counter. Other than that, the customer services is horrible. Not apologizing for messed up orders or the long wait times. Just a "here" when your coffee is ready. They are super understaffed which I think makes them all miserable. I've just recently waited 22 minutes for a cup of coffee. And the unfortunately the time has been getting longer and longer. They have lost service from my whole family because of this. Dirty floor, dirty tables, dirty bar where you add sugar and cream to your coffee, the store is uncomfortably cold and my waitress was really new and didn't know if they had green tea. Of all the Starbucks in all the towns in all the world, I had to walk into this one. This used to be the only one we went to. Now it's the one we avoid. Today, however, we were on this end of town when my iced chai tea latte craving hit, so Starbucks on Soncy it was. For starters, this place is the worst laid out of any I've been in. There's less room to maneuver around the counter than the airport stores. Woe to you if you're in line and someone has to get past you to reach the bathroom in the rear, and if the space wasn't at enough of a premium, someone had the genius idea to put freaking tables and chairs against the wall to narrow the gap that much further. Then there's the issue of being slower than Cousin Edith getting out of the bathroom after eating too much cheese. Today the drive up line of cars wrapped around three sides of the strip mall, and the inside line was two rows deep, but did they have both registers running? Was the counter jockey moving things along quickly and efficiently? No and no. One register, and she couldn't shut her yap long enough to call out the orders. Upon finally reaching the register, my husband attempted to order a Caramel Brulee Frappuchino, only to be told they were out. More specifically, "That's over with." Really? Then why is it listed in big letters on that chalkboard on the wall behind you? Fine, he got something else. At last I got my Iced Chai Tea Latte. Hooray for me. I headed to the fixer upper counter by the door, only to discover the Cinnamon shaker is empty, the Vanilla one looking suspiciously crusty, and a third shaker essentially empty and with no name on it to tell me what it was anyway. While I was staring sadly at what I suspected might have been the Nutmeg shaker I'd been after, I heard the yappy counter jockey tell someone they couldn't have a banana smoothie because they were out of bananas. "Actually we're out of smoothies. But we have frappuchinos!" Well, except for caramel brulee frappuchinos. Crowded, slow, dirty, unorganized. Last time we ever go to this location. Oh, and before we left Amarillo we went to the Starbucks off I40 and Grand, and they were more than happy to whip up the Caramel Brulee Frap that Soncy claimed was "over". read more

Once in a blue moon, I'll make it through the drive-thru in less than 15 minutes, but usually it's at least a 20 minute wait. Same goes for ordering inside. You think you're so close to getting your drink after you order that you don't want to leave, but then you end up spending 40 minutes total in the drive-thru on more than one occasion at 3pm on a Saturday (true story from a real victim). read more

I was just a passer by in Amarillo and looking for my go-to morning coffee. The yelp reviews were deterring, yet this location was on my way. We noticed the drive thru to be wrapped around the building (probably a solid 10-12 cars). I know from my local busy Starbucks that drive-thru lines can be disheartening, so we went inside the lobby. There were 5-6 people waiting on orders and one person ahead of us. From order to receipt of order (including food items), less than 10 minutes. Y'all rock. I haven't experienced any of the negative aspects others have mentioned, but for the most part - a Starbucks is a Starbucks. It always seems to be faster to actually go inside the store for your drink versus the drive through even though the drive through employees out number the staff serving us walk-in customers.
