This is one of our road-trip stalwarts. We've been here many times over the years. Bathroom, coffee, food, you know what you're going to get. Easy on/off I-40 both directions. Usually not crowded, always friendly baristas. It still has some of the old days Starbucks charm, when baristas actually had time to chat with you because they hadn't yet been converted into a drive-thru blended-drink assembly line. We count on stopping here 5 hours from Dallas whether we're driving west or east. (Randomly, if by any chance you're looking for a credit union ATM, there is a free-standing one about 50 feet across the parking lot.) read more

Oh man, it just seems like every time I've gone to a Starbucks these past few months their customer service has just gotten worse. This was one of the worst ones. But the reason I salvaged three stars was because of the convenience. Friday morning, the line was at a standstill and absolutely wrapped around the store. So I decided to just run inside and grab my mobile order, no big deal. We were passing through town on our way to Colorado and decided to grab a cup of joe. But the issue came when I walked inside the building and literally every employee avoided eye contact with me. So I'm standing in front of the mobile order line, just waiting as employees walk back and forth behind the counter. They're busy, I get it. When I see my drink being made and subsequently placed in the mobile order slot, STILL no one would acknowledge me. Just as I was about to reach back behind the counter, as it was evident no one wanted to be bothered, and grab my drinks (I had been waiting about 5 minutes mind you), a guy got a little rude and finally handed them to me. I left. But YALL! You need to work on your customer service. Especially since your coffee really isn't even that great when compared to DD, and you charge way more for it too. I understand if you think people are going to just keep coming because of the name brand...but eventually it's got to be more than that. read more

They have a drive thru but if you can't remember the order even after printed on the screen displayed and you give us a hazelnut coffee when we asked for a pike black with coconut milk explicitly stating we have nut allergies and serve us nuts, you could have caused a major health risk today. I come here two or three times a week, now I have pick if I want to leave a tip or not as I go through the drive through. Absolutely stupid and not coming back to this location. Forcing someone to choose a tip or not going through a drive through is terrible service and I don't have time for it. Easy on, easy off when traveling Route 66/I-40 E or W! There's a little bit of a learning curve with the one way directional streets that span either side of I-40, but you'll see the Coffee Siren logo overhead, beckoning for your order. The ladies that staff this store are terrific! They are very thoughtful and engaging at the early hours when I happen to partake in something to take on the road. The drive-thru can get busy but they do expedite those orders. Lobby visits are quite nice. Stop in next time you happen to travel through! read more

There are three Starbucks in Amarillo. One is in a very nice area of town. This isn't it. So why is this the only one we'll go to? For starters, the staff is always cheerful and outgoing. They get my order taken care of quickly and never seem to mind when I ask about used coffee grounds (for my garden). Best of all, my iced chai tea latte sugar free vanilla tastes the same EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. The other Starbucks? Eh, not so much. In all the times we've gone, the place has been clean and the service excellent. We'll keep coming back. :) read more

Another great Starbucks that's an easy access from eastbound I-40. I hit the drive thru for an iced coffee to get me on the way back to Dallas, and found the location placed on a very generous pad site with easy access for big vehicles. They made my drink perfectly and I was back on the highway with no issues. In short, it's everything you want for a place that you just pop in and pop out of. read more

I wish I could give this particular Starbucks no stars because honestly we would've been better off stopping by a gas station. Even though there was no line when we ordered, all the mobile and drive thru drinks were served before they even looked at ours. Then the barista made one of our drinks wrong and proceeded to place it behind all the other orders that came in deciding to get to it later. When asked, she said she made a mistake and was working on it, but then gave out 3 other drink to people who ordered well after us. This used to be a good place. We ordered a hame and egg sandwich to go and it was some kind of egg ball that no one would eat as it looked nasty. The hot chocolate had coffee tones to it as if the frothier or something had not been cleaned from the last time. If you do not drink coffee, that just ruins the chocolate. This is the second time we've gotten drinks here in the past month, but I think no more! Even though it was out of our way, I'll return back to Roasters where they will pay attention and make your order how you want it!!
