Well, it seems my review was taken the wrong way and I wish to correct that. That was in no way aimed at Dr. Hallman! He is a wonderful vet. I even had my girlfriend take her cat there from a botched Spay. Dr. Hallman was the only one to fix her the right way. Actually our tax person told us it was sold to a corporation. I guess this is how news gets around in a small town. I should have went straight to the horses mouth!! My main gripe was the wench at the front desk! She was totally rude! Even my husband thought so! We have never had anyone treat us that way there. Usually everyone is very pleasant. I guess I was so surprised at her reaction my mouth over ran my ass!!! So sorry to you Dr. Hallman, it was not aimed at you. You know I love you!!!!! Sherry, Bear, and the Queen Diva Molly read more

We had always had a positive experience with Star Valley Vet in the past however, my most recent call to their office about a possible positive leptospirosis test was exactly the opposite. I would give it a zero out of 10. Dr card was the vet that called me back. It was supposed to be a "discussion" about that, but instead it turned into her being the only one talking for quite a while. I finally started interrupting because she wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. She then proceeded to tell me that if I thought this was the way the conversation was gonna go I was mistaken, I then told her likewise! I don't know if she has some sort of better than everyone else complex, but she then proceeded to get very defensive and told me that we could start taking our dogs to another vet and the. Hung up on me. Not professional in the least, if you can't take a little pushback from the pets owners that you service. You probably should find a different profession. Caring and compassionate care applies to the owners of the pets that you serve as well. Since then my order through the pharmacy was returned to them, saying my address was invalid however, it isn't, they have delivered to that address before! If they refuse to send it, I'm going to demand that they refund the wellness exam and heartworm test that were required in order for them to fill both prescription. Yes they're great as long as you don't give them any pushback in which case they are terrible and they won't deal with you at all. I will never ever go back there. Just keep that in mind because if you have a pet emergency and you push back at all regarding what their opinion is, they'll likely blacklist you at least Dr Card will. read more

The response from this business in regard to my post review is generic to say the least. Best I can say is Star Valley Pet Clinic dropped the ball, told us our dog was in GREAT CONDITION AND WE SHOULD KEEP DOING WHAT WE HAVE BEEN DOING! She was DEAD a week later! read more

My family recently moved to Payson and I went out to visit them and naturally I needed to kill two birds one stone as always... it was time for my Frenchie Tenn's manhood chop. I was completely terrified to take him anywhere new as I'm pretty VIP to my vet here in Los Angeles... however my Grandma made an appointment for my little guy here for me and I could not be more pleased... not only was the staff is INCREDIBLY kind (I think her name was Lisa who literally handed me tissue as I'm having a panic attack about my little man doing anesthesia)... the doctor who helped was very warm and lovely. They followed up immediately after his surgery to let me know all went well and I felt like my guy was in the best hands the whole time! So many thanks to you all for your kindness! Having two Frenchies I spend a fortune on vet bills but Star Valley Vet Clinic is a place (and people) I'd love to invest in as well. I will be bringing both my guys back here ONLY whenever I'm in town! Thanks again to all the staff and doctor for your help with my loud and mouthy toddler Tennessee! read more

Star Valley Veterinary Clinic - Nash and Tenn... (pre-op!) - Veterinarians Near Me - Star Valley, Arizona

Our groomer found a bump on my doggy's paw and said that it looked like foxtail was stuck in there. We have been in Payson two years but not found a reputable Vet so She Suggested Star Valley Vet. We got him in and the vet said it looked like cancer not a foreign substance in there. We agreed to have her lance, flush and drain it and she took a sample to get it checked for cancer. $835.20 No cancer and it looks exactly the way it looked when we took him in except now it is infected. Today on the way to get stitches out (if possible as it is still very red) I stopped at the bank and another lady there said she was at Star Valley Vet yesterday. They told her her dog had cancer and it would be $1000 for her to have the medical they suggested completed by them... Also,, we were not told they charge $45.00 fora bandage change- which has been in the past was complimentary at Valley vets. They took out the stitches today with no information given to me about his paw or the infection when i received my dog back.. They would not allow me in with my dog. On the day of the surgery, they shaved his foot and ankle so close that they took holes out of his skin and it is still bleeding two weeks later. We will not be returning and I really wish we could get our money back. All I can say is BEWARE!!!!! read more

Don't use this vet: this is my experience...On February 15, 2021..I took my dog into the vet for an ear ache... I was was charged the proper fees...however today 03-01-21 I went back for a re-check and they charged another $60. for a 5 minute re-check of something that was already paid for...This clininc DID NOT SAY there was another charge to have it re-checked ...for the same issue....EVERY VET I have ever been to has NEVER CHARGED TO RECHECK their procedure.....I will never go back to this VET... NOW ON TO EPISODE NUMBER TWO: ON February 24th 2021 I took my small weiner dog to this vet for a nail trim...when my dog was brought to the car ..she acted fine...the tech brought the bill of $21. for a nail trim and went into the office to process my debit card...during that time my dog went into a full blown ...what I thought was a seizure...tongue hanging out...panting profusely, rolling around...when the tech came out I said OMG I think she is having a stroke...the tech said ""she was fine when I gave her to you" and yes she was...however...what happened???? . The tech offered to see if the vet was available to see her...I decided to take my dog home...because I just don't know what happened in that time with the Tech....this is March 1st and my dog is still experiening symptoms... So today after the tech...brought my other dog out for the recheck...she asked how my other dog was doing? the one that had a what I assume was a panic attack..I told her my dog is excperiencing symptoms..She had the nerve to say " well since you apparently only take them to the vet every three years for a rabies shot...then that is probably why she had this problem"... Well let me tell you ...my dog has been to the vet on many visits...(we moved from Oregon about 1 month ago...so she had no knowledge.....I am soooo pissed as I write this... I should have been informed of the addiitonal fee for a re-check...and number two...when my other dog experienced the stroke symtoms...there should have been NO QUESTION...... I will NEVER go back... read more

Love this place , staff is awesome and the treated my baby so good ... They listened to the problem and didn't push anyrhing on me .

Dr. Hallman and his staff are outstanding. Having just moved to the area, my husband and I took our two dachshunds in for a checkup. We were greeted by Kathy in the waiting area and immediately ushered into an examination room. We had an ear infection issue with our youngest dog which was identified right away and had blood drawn to test for heartworm. Unfortunately, the blood test results showed a high elevation of kidney function. We were immediately referred by Dr. Hallman to a specialty veterinarian clinic in Mesa. We learned that our dog had a genetic issue which had resulted in only 25% function of the kidneys. We have quickly become experts in dog kidney care as a result. We can't begin to thank Dr. Hallman, Lisa, Kathy and Debbie for their support and quick evaluation of our youngest dog's kidney issue. They have extended his life and we will be forever grateful! read more

***BEWARE*** I am surprised to see all of these great reviews about this business. We have struggled to find a reputable Veterinarian since moving to Payson 3 years ago. After a visit to Payson Pet Care where they prescribed allergy pills and nothing to help my dogs paw, our groomer sent us to Star Valley Vet Clinic for the bump on his paw and said she sees it all of the time - it appears a fox tail is stuck inside. We went as soon as they were able to fit us in, as it was apparent he was uncomfortable. They were very nice and knowledgeable and the Vet came in and told us she believed it was cancer. She started telling us all of the cancer treatments they do and we should get it biopsied as was her opinion. After signing a DNR for my dog (unheard of) We did as she suggested, expecting that she would remove what was there ($835.00 invoice says, drained, flushed and cleaned out; and a shot of 2 week antibiotic; pain-antiinflammatory pills). BEWARE that this business is all about money. They gave me instructions about a heart murmur) that my pet has always had since we adopted him.) and medication to buy to treat it in the future and they told me his tooth plaque was at a 2 and needed cleaning that they could do at the subsequent visit when they removed the cancerous tumor. BEWARE!!!!! They scheduled a bandage change 3 days later but did not tell us that it was an additional $45.00. Before the appointment we called in to find out that it was an additional charge (with 30 years of owning dogs - this has been in the past a complimentary service). We did it ourselves to find that they shaved his paw so deep he had holes in his skin all over his ankle. It took me one hour and 1/2 cup of oil to remove the adhesive from his raw and bleeding skin while he cried and shook. (And so did I.) The Vet called us 6 days after she had seen our dog and asked how he was. Coincidentally, I was at the same time changing his bandage (while he cried and shook in pain) and I was short, admittedly upset and told her he was not good, as well as it appeared to be infected. She accused me of talking over her and hung up on me. We called back - we apologized for being upset, got results of biopsy (which was why she called apparently.) NO CANCER was the diagnosis, possibly an allergy or a foreign substance. My dog has been in much pain and the vet and her staff did nothing to help him but caused him more pain. They had us pickup an additional antibiotic ($24.00) after emailing photos of our dog's leg and paw to the office manager. Fast forward to the two weeks stitch removal and we apprehensively took him in. They took out the stitches without allowing us to come in, talk to the tech or get further instructions. They said nothing. We asked the girl who returned him to us in the car, what to do as it was so infected still - could they even take out the stitches? and what is currently wrong...with great pause she said, "um, um, give him the rest of the meds" and left. His paw is beet red, the sore is now double the size it originally was and he can not walk on it. I have spoken to Payson neighborhood dog owners where we live and ALL OF THEM have said THEY HAVE NOT HEARD ANY GOOD THING about this business. I asked the Payson bank employee (who has lived here all of her life) if she knew of a good Vet in town (I called and he is no longer taking new pets.) and told her what happened at Star Valley Vet Clinic: The woman at the next drive through heard me and yelled out, " I was there yesterday and they told me my dog had cancer and $1,000 for her to get biopsy - she was told to put the dog down." BEWARE because these reviews are misleading. read more

Dr Hallman and his staff are the greatest. The best vet I have ever been to. Our 11 year old pit bull had been feeling a little sickly, so we took him in to Dr Hallman and found out through x rays that he had cancer all over his body. He suggested we take him home with pain pills and spend some quality time with him, bring him back when we were ready and he would put him to sleep. We did exactly that, and knew when it was time to take him back. The whole staff was so compassionate and caring. A few months later my cat was attacked by a dog and badly injured. I raced her over to the clinic, Dr Hallman looked at her, did an x ray and gave me the sad news that he couldn't save her. So he let me spend some time with her, after giving her pain meds, she was very sleepy but not in pain. When he came in to put her to sleep, she was completely relaxed, and laid in my lap while he gave her the shots. She died peacefully. I will forever be grateful to this wonderful vet and staff for their understanding and compassion. read more
