I've been going to Mimi at Star Nails for well over 10 years! All of the technicians are friendly and provide excellent service. They do WONDERFUL pedicures. I appreciate that they are easy to reach and very accommodating with my schedule and they always honor appointment times. When I arrive for my appt they are already ready for me - it's not as if I am just another walk in and I am asked to wait a long time, like other salons often do. They are also very quick. Plus they have a huge selection of polishes, are current on all the latest trends and techniques, and they always have fun design ideas so I can try cute new things. The best part is that they do QUALITY work, so my nails always last 4-5 weeks at minimum... which I know is not ideal, but my work schedule means I travel a lot and it's hard to get back in, time wise. It's AMAZING and so helpful for my budget, that they last so long. This is a lovely, family owned local business that I am so happy to support! Went in two weeks ago to get acrylic nails removed. They just ripped them off. Never have I had my nails ripped off like that, I was in utter shock. I asked while she was ripping them off "you guys actually charge money for this?? I could have ripped them off myself, you're supposed to soak them in acetone!" I'm writing this review because two weeks later they are very sore and I'm unable to pressure on my finger tips. Very upset is an understatement. read more

I really appreciate all the people who work here and especially Minh, the owner. She is hardworking, dedicated and always does a great job with my waxing and manicures. Her mother works here as well. Everyone is very pleasant and seem to really enjoy what they do. The massage chairs are awesome and Minh has put a great deal of effort into seasonally decorating her space. I love the Buddhist altar and personal touches she has added. I see that children are welcome and the environment is welcoming and can be family oriented if you would like to bring in a younger person to get their toes or nails done. I've come here before and live my nails so I came back but was disappointed. my nails are not painted close to the cuticle at all, it was rushed and sloppy and nails were filed too short after requesting to keep the length. the polish came out bumpy and sloppy on the edges. read more

They need to improve their customer service. The last time I went, they started working on my nail (I only had to fix ONE broken acrylic) and halfway through getting it done, Mimi walked away and took a 10min break. I was sitting down for 10min with a nail that only needed nail polish. I even went to find the nail polish bottle myself. I was SO close to doing it myself so I decided it would be the last time I ever visit. I called Mimi and was thrilled to hear that they offer Gel X. Came in today for a full set and a pedi and they exceeded my every expectation. The nails are immaculate and my pedi was superb and all I can say is these women know how to shape a nail. I will go nowhere else but to Mimi and her incredibly kind team. The vibe in there is so warm and welcoming and they keep the salon incredibly clean and organized. I am someone who is insanely picky about who I see for my nails. I have been coming here as a loyal customer for over a year. I usually get gel pedicure but have asked them time and time again not to file my toenails (on the top). They use an electric filer to take the nail polish off! They're not supposed to do that. They have reassured me the last few times that they know how to deal with thin nails, yet they keep filing them. Well today, I lost one of my nails which just lifted off! I should have listened to my gut but I trusted that they had the education and experience and that I was just paranoid! I won't be going back! read more

I had my nails done here, and I was charged $60.00 for gel, and $20.00 for 4 butterflies! I showed them a picture of what I wanted, one of their own pictures off the website, they didn't even come close! 2 days after one of nails came off! 4 days later another one came off, then 10 days later 2 more came off. My nails don't usually come off until 3-4 weeks. I would not recommend this salon. read more

I used to come here all the time, because it was my favorite, reasonably priced nail salon that delivered good quality service. However, after this last experience, I will never be back, and I will never send anyone there ever again. First; I paid twice what they normally charge me for a gel mani and pedi. 12 hours into having my 90.00 service, two of my nails chipped. I was unhappy with the service as the chair they sat me in was broken, and they refused to believe me. They did not move me to another chair. They just told me to wait and see if it worked in 40 minutes "once the cycle timed out". The woman doing my mani was really unhappy about the length of my nails. She complained bitterly about it, called my nails "a disgrace" and made me feel bad because my nails were too short for a French manicure by her standards. If she wasn't up for the job, she should have passed me onto someone who could do it. I would have happily waited. I know my nails are short. I'm a full time mom and I work with my hands. This has never been an issue before. Her constant complaints throughout my service ruined my experience. Then when I left, they overcharged me, and asked if I had ever been there before. I was insulted, because I've had several conversations with the owner about our kids and she said she didn't recognize me. This is the only place I've gone to for my nails for the past 6 years. I've sent dozens of people here. I was again, insulted. I got on a plane the next day to Europe, and was fuming because 12 hours in, two nails were chipped and I couldn't get them fixed. Go elsewhere. Their quality, customer service and service has gone downhill. read more

Since day one, I've been unimpressed with this salon, but they are close to my house so I continue to try to give them second, third, fourth chances. The first three times I did not get exactly what I had asked for but when it is hard to communicate you just kind of walk out when the job is done. Made an appointment only to sit there while there was clearly not enough people to do the services. It would appear that they just sat down to walk-ins, right at the time of our appointment only to try to push us back as far as possible with no communication as to what was going on. Not a single person said it's gonna be this much longer, or this is why this is taking that long, or we are working on getting you seated. None. I found the experience completely unprofessional with a complete lack of respect for the customers time. When you make an appointment, that is when services is supposed to start not when they finish up with the people they just accepted right in front of you so they could make a couple extra bucks. read more
