I just came for the first time for a dental checkup, and the experience was exceptional! All of the staff is incredibly friendly and kind, and make an effort to get to know you. They stop and explain everything that they are doing and why they are doing it, and what the results mean. Dr. Shewski takes his time to explain and get to know you, and it is just a great experience! Love this place! Will be back and highly recommend this dentist! I believe this office took advantage of me and performed unnecessary procedures. They are unethical. Do not go here. I recently moved to the area and it was time for my dental cleaning- I got the name of this office from a coworker. I am in my 20s and have never had extensive dental work needed. I expected a routine cleaning- however, the hygienist and doctor explained that my X-rays showed signs of gum disease and bone loss. They told me I needed two rounds of Deep Gum Cleaning. I complied, not knowing any better. I was treated like I did not know how to brush my teeth properly... which I did not appreciate. I paid them close to $400 for my initial visit and deep cleanings and was told that the remainder of the treatment would be covered by insurance. Several months later, I learn that insurance will not cover the procedures because I did not have evidence of the gum disease and bone loss that would necessitate a deep cleaning. Star Ranch Dental sends me an additional bill for close to $500 MORE to cover what insurance will not. I have spoken with my insurance company 3 times and have re-submitted the claims, but they are simply not going to be approved because I did not need this treatment. The only option I have left is to file a grievance, which I will certainly be doing. read more

I went to Star Ranch Dental for several years. And then suddenly Dr. Barnett told me that I needed a tooth with healthy roots pulled and an implant put in, that my front teeth were cracking and I needed veneers, and that they could not redo an area I had received previous treatmemt for gum erosion. I have been to two other dentists since, and all of this was untrue. Perhaps he needed to make up for lost funds from the pandemic. But I found this truly unbelievable they told me this because I have great teeth and excellent oral hygiene. read more

I highly recommend Star Ranch Dental during covid. They have many precautions in place such as an air cleaning system, masks are enforced, they maintain extreme social distance (patients escorted in and out so patients never see anyone except the hygienist and dentist), you pay inside your treatment room, dental instruments that potentially spread contaminants are not in use. Also waiting in your car until the route to your treatment room is clear. They take the health of their staff and patients seriously! read more

From the moment you open the door you will feel like you are in the right place. A friendly welcoming staff and they work their appointments like a team. You will be in and out in no time at all. Dr.Geiger is very friendly and practical about treatment -- she did a night guard recently for me and it has made such a difference in my jaw clentching in such a short time. DO NOT GO TO DR GEIGER!!! She performed a root canal treatment March 2016. May 2017 I started having pain, went back and I have an infection which has caused me to go to an endodontist for retreatment. They will tell you that re treatment can happen, but all the research I've done is way past 1.2 years! Root canals should last a lifetime. She didn't seem to care that she messed up or offered any type of refund for her screw up. Also to note, she didn't even get the crown right and I had to go back with an infection after the root canal! Now it's May 2017, and I have to go through the entire process once again, which was painful the first time. Also to note, I had a cleaning a few months after the root canal and my teeth they said were fine, however in 6 months I have several cavities another Dr noticed (I got two opinions and every doctor had the same conclusion). This facility only cares about making a quick buck. I even went in to hear about TMJ therapy and they said it could cost 10-20k out of pocket!!!! This should illustrate who they are and that money verse patients come first. Please do yourself a favor, and don't go here, unless you like to spend a ton of money to pay for their nice facility and get horrible dental care. read more

I had a great experience with the cleaning and thought the dental hygienists were wonderful. Dr. Barnett was very aggressive during my filling and had terrible bedside manner. My cheek was cut during the filling pretty badly and took a week to heal. I left in tears and have honestly never had an experience like this before. I canceled my follow up appointment and won't be returning. I wouldn't recommend this dentist to anyone. read more

What an absolutely ridiculous new patient experience I had!!! After part of a filling fell out during the weekend I left them a voicemail stating I would like to have the issue repaired and get a cleaning and asked them to please contact me Monday. To my delight they did so that morning and said they would work to get me in ASAP to fix the issue. I stated it was not down to the root and therefore not real painful and informed them instead of just fixing the filling I would like to schedule a cleaning as well. She informed me that would not be possible until Wednesday, to which I said great, put me down for that at 9:30am. I received a new patient welcome call from Dr. Barnett that Tuesday stating they were excited to see me the next day, he had reviewed the notes and understood what outcome I was seeking in my scheduled visit. Long story short, after arriving, getting x-ray's, sat in the chair, read the riot act about what all extras they offer and being told the doc would look in my mouth to determine what type of cleaning was need, I was told by the assistant there was no where in the notes about a filling needing fixing. I stated that is the main reason why I am here, she asked me to wait, came back again and said there is no staff here to do that today. She went to talk to Dr. Barnett and was sent back to tell me his schedule was full today and could not do anything about the problem. I stated to her, well there is no reason to proceed with a cleaning or my new patient visit b/c the filling repair is the main priority and if you can't do it then I will need to go to another dentist to do so. I attempted to call Dr. Barnett after I left since he never even had the courtesy to come out and speak with me while I was there and have yet to hear back. read more

Excellent staff, that greets you at the door every time. I mean they literary get up from the desk and welcome you in. I am usually pretty nervous at dentist offices but every visit has been such a pleasant experience. They have a TV while getting your cleaning or other mouth work done, complete with headphones. Each time I go I am offered a hot or cold compress. Dr. Barnett is very attentive and has always taken time to explain each procedure. Before leaving don't forget to stop by in the relaxation room for a chair massage in this really high tech chair and soothing paraffin hand wax treatment. read more

Let me start this off with letting you know I have ALWAYS been terrified of the dentist....at least up until recently. My experience with Dr. Barnett and the entire staff has been wonderful at Star Ranch Dental Spa. I hadn't been to the dentist in about 2 years and had convinced myself that I was going to need most of my teeth pulled, but Dr Barnett assured me that wasn't the case. I got xrays and my teeth cleaned and then on another visit it was time for a filling. I HATE fillings, but this was easy! Dr Barnett walked me through what he was going to do, it only took about 20 mins and didn't hurt!!!! After you have your procedures they give you the option to sit in a massage chair too. On top of all the staff being amazing (sometimes I get annoyed there is stuff in my mouth because I'd rather be chatting the girls that are helping me) the actual office is beautiful. It's very inviting and warm, not like most dentist offices that are cold and ugly. I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for my appointment either. I'm so thankful I found Spa Ranch Dental or my teeth might have really fallen out at somepoint. read more

I will be the first to admit that before going to Dr. Courtney Geiger, I suffered from the well known disorder: FODO (Fear of Dentist Office) and at one point didn't see a dentist for almost 3 years. So it's safe to say when I saw Dr. Geiger for the first time, I needed some work. This included getting my crown replaced, a root canal, as well as a cavity.I know what you are thinking...Ouch! Guess what? I didn't feel a thing!! Literally no pain at all! Yes, you heard me...NO PAIN :) I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She is hands down the best dentist I have ever been to and as long as I am living in the Dallas area, she is the ONLY dentist I will go to. She has taken the time over the years to educate me on the importance of dental health and now I'm cavity free and an avid flosser! Dr. Geiger's team at Star Ranch Dental are extremely friendly and professional. Their patient centered approach instantly let's you know you are in good hands. Such a professional office! My appointment started on time and they didn't try to sell me on extra services. They gave me information on additional treatment plans (whitening and teeth guards) so I could decide later if it was for me. They have TVs in the rooms so your visit goes by very fast. read more

I typically am not a fan of going to the dentist but Star Ranch Dental really changed the stigma for me. They are awesome! Their office is new, clean, and welcoming and everyone there makes you feel right at home. All of their staff is wonderful! Their wait time was minuscule and within five minutes of waking in I was taken back for my apt. I went in for my 6 month cleaning and new patient check in and the whole process was very smooth and easy. They have great technology, TV's in their chairs, and they walk you through everything they are doing. The hygienist was very knowledgable and makes sure you are doing okay through the whole process. Dr. Barnett was very caring and made sure to address all my concerns. All in all, this is as good as it gets (as far as dentists are concerned) and I will definitely be coming back. No long wait, although they do have a nice waiting area. Staff was very professional and unlike many dental offices where the Dentist where's multiple hats, this one puts them to shame. My experience with this office started the night before my appointment when Dr. Barnett called me at home to welcome me to the practice and to see if I had any questions or concerns to share with him. Really? I'm 49 years old and have NEVER had a dentist or doctor call me before my first appointment. I thought that this was an amazing and very thoughtful thing for him to do. Big thumbs up!! Then yesterday was my first time visiting Star Ranch Dental. I knew I was in for a great experience when I walked in the door and someone walked out to greet me. (Usually you have to walk up to a window and wait to be acknowledged etc etc etc.) This set the tone for a very welcoming and comfortable appointment. I was told where to have a seat, have a drink, watch tv, and or just relax for a few minutes and they'd be right out to get me. From there, the appointment continued to impress. Everyone was super friendly, and made me feel comfortable. The dental assistants and hygienists were very caring and knowledgeable. My teeth felt super clean and healthy after my cleaning. When Dr. Barnett came in, he was very friendly and professional. I told him that I only use all natural organic products at my house and he didn't scoff or make "that" face that many other dentists/doctors do when I say that, so I was very appreciative. Going to the dentist is admittedly not my favorite thing to do, but I was super impressed with this office and know that I have now found a new dental home. Star Ranch Dental is THE BEST! I first came to them a few years ago for a TMJ problem. The therapy they used did wonders for me and they gave me techniques I could use at home. They made my night guards, which work extremely well and are comfortable. My goal is to one day not need the NTIs. Until then, they are great at adjusting them for my needs. The staff is so friendly and courteous and not to mention extremely accommodating. I'm always comfortable and relaxed plus surprisingly don't need laughing gas like I did with my last dentist. They have a beautiful office and they seem so knowledgeable of all the latest dental techniques and procedures. I actually look forward to my teeth cleanings. read more
