I am lovingly "violating my own HIPAA rights" and sharing something personal because I genuinely wish someone had told me about pelvic floor physical therapy YEARS ago. I've been going to Dynamic Physical Therapy for several months, and I cannot recommend Michelle Sierra and her team highly enough. I've had two children and a hysterectomy, yet somehow no one ever said, "Hey, you know all those muscles down there? You might want to pay attention to those." Pregnancy and childbirth, hysterectomy and other surgeries, menopause and aging can all affect the pelvic floor, contributing to bladder or bowel issues, urgency, pelvic pressure or pain. And this isn't just for women--men can benefit too, particularly after prostate surgery or cancer treatment. For years, many of us assumed these were simply things we had to accept as we got older. Thankfully, we know better now. I'm in my 50s, and while I accept that aging comes with certain indignities, I have absolutely no intention of surrendering to "Poise" or "Depends" without a fight. Michelle and the entire Dynamic team handle a very personal type of therapy with professionalism, compassion, grace and absolutely no judgment. They make something that could feel awkward seem completely normal. If you're experiencing bladder or bowel changes, pelvic pain or pressure, or other symptoms you thought you simply had to live with, please talk with your doctor about whether pelvic floor physical therapy might be appropriate for you. I'm told "oh Dr Chaing is out of the county. We rescheduled all of his appointments and sent in refills for everyone" I said well I wasn't called." She said "ok let's reschedule you and I will send a message to him about your medication refills. But the last message from him said he was unavailable" I said how can he possibly leave the country and not refill ALL of his patient's medications. And here it comes. The LOOPHOLE.... All Dr Chainges medications are as needed. So I look at my bottles which are all empty and it says take twice daily "AS NEEDED"for severe pain.So he prescribes addictive medications. LEAVES THE COUNTRY to leave his patients in pain and sick from opiate detoxification. And could care less about the patient. I wonder how many patients of his are right now sick like me. Nausea. Vomiting. Sweats. Chills. Diarrhea. All that For a 56 yr old woman in severe daily pain. I called the pharmacy 3 days in a row. And. NOTHING. I call Avala spine and inquire again about my medication and I am told " he hasn't responded to my message yet. And there you have it in a nutshell. Patient comes last when the Dr plans a trip out of the country. And YES I ASKED was it a vacation trip. I was told YES. SO I HOPE HE ENJOYS HIS LEISURE TRIP.

I had been having pains in my neck for a long while. I never sought physical therapy for it,…read morebecause, well, physical therapy in my past normally meant leaving my home far too often to treat my pain with painful, boring, and ineffectual moves. Once taught the exercises, I was normally left to my own to do them in the clinic with an occasional glance in my direction from one of the therapists. After hearing a presentation by Jena Bratton, PT, I decided to give her clinic a try. It was so different from my past experience! After a thorough assessment, she had recommendations right away for me. After evaluating pictures of my work station, she had suggestions on how I could rearrange things to reduce the fatigue on my neck and back. I immediately felt a difference after following her advice, which made it easier to sit at my desk and do what I need to do. Every visit, Jena asked me about how I was feeling, and included appropriate treatment to my plan of care for that day. This clinic is truly a hands-on treatment facility. I was given exercises to do at the clinic, and someone always came by several times to be sure I understood what I was doing and how the movements would improve my situation. I did not feel ignored at all. Two firsts for me, cupping and dry needling weren't scary at all, truly painless, and helped relieve my overall pain. All in all, the exercises, cupping, dry needling, tens therapy, heat, and counseling improved my neck issues tremendously, and increased my range of motion.
