Service was lackluster. Quality of the pedicure was actually awful....sharp edges left on the nails, forgot topcoat, in and out of chair in 20 minutes. They always do a great job! Giving 3/5 stars because they have overbooked themselves both times I've gone, so my mani took an hour and 45 minutes; and also, the prices in the store are higher than online (I got dip with one color only and the base price was $55, but on their website it says it's $40). I recommend making an appointment because that's who they prioritize. I walked in, they started my nails soaking and then left me hanging for 40 minutes when somebody with an appointment came in. Then they rushed my nails and I walked out with no work done on my cuticles, no oil to finish up, and dip powder on my fingers. The woman that that 'greets' people and checks them in plus a man ( a manager?) were extremely unprofessional. I had an appointment yet she didnt even ask what my name was, but thats just the beginning. I asked for their names and they wouldnt tell me. I asked for the manager, again would not tell me. Incredibly disappointing experience while on vacation. I came in for a pedicure. The man giving me my pedicure had NO idea how to polish whatsoever. I sat there for nearly an hour and a half while he fumbled along and it was so sloppy. Someone else had to take over and take everything off and redo it. Then they charged me full price and when I questioned them, they couldn't have cared less. Don't waste your hard earned money and go to another salon in the area instead. Worst pedicure ever. Myself and two others had our appointment at 1:30. We sat in cold water for over 45 minutes before the staff actually started our pedicures. The woman who did mine was especially rough and the massage was almost non existent. It's been a day and a half and my polish is already chipping. I walked right in and was able to get a mani/pedi. It was $40 for both combined. The service was friendly and quick. My regular manicure is still looking great a week later. That usually doesn't happen! The have a great color selection. I also noticed on their menu they have facial services. Which looked very reasonable and a wide variety. I started coming to Mary over a year ago I really enjoyed how she did my nails today I go to see her for the first time in over four months because I live downstate and I swim up north and she charge me $60 to do my nails and I asked her why and she told me to start going downstate and then I come back to go see her I thought that was very rude of her to tell me that when I really enjoyed her doing my nails I would never come back to her salon ever again she's a very rude lady.. along with her husband..!! I had a terrible experience. First when I got in the pedi chair I asked what different kind of pedicure do they have. The gentle man ask one of the female workers to get me a brochure in Vietnamese. Which I understand. He said and I quote " get this dumb ass the menu" I was in shock if he didn't already start on my feet I would of left the salon. I have a very common Vietnamese name which they should of known better. I did want a polish change on my nails but with calling me a dumbass I changed my mind. and he decided to talk more trash to the female who sits at the first desk. First and for most I am also a nail tech from Ohio. So I know the how A basic pedicure services is. They don't cut your cuticles or use a callus remover to scrub the heel. They use hand soap wth. i wouldn't even rate this as a one star. read more

What a great find! I discovered this salon while visiting the area for work. The full spa pedicure was a delight AND a steal! Starting with a nice scented soak, I got to choose from a nice selection of scents for my scrub/lotions. As I enjoyed my massage chair, my nail professional massaged and scrubbed away the shameful way I treat my paws. A paraffin dip, heated stone massage and funky color later, I left feeling spoiled and relaxed! I will definitely visit again next time I'm in town. About 60 minutes for $45. Gel polish is extra. Absolutely worth getting away from the over priced salons in the more touristy areas. read more

I chose this place because I wanted a gel pedicure, which not everyone offers. It was fine, not anything spectacular - I was impressed that they use hot stones during the massage, but unfortunately the actual massage was very brief and let's be honest, that's the best part of any pedicure. I called the other day to get a pedicure appointment with Mary, as the Yelp reviews that were good were all about her. When I called she didn't have a 10:30 appointment which I was requesting but said she had a noon appointment. I got there 15 minutes early and was told my appointment was at 1pm...yet they never asked my name. What? So they put me in a chair and someone else did my pedicure. He took quite a long time but I could tell he wasn't all that experienced. I had the time, so it wasn't a big deal. But when I got home and looked at the pedicure the polish job was not good at all. I had polish on my skin, at the cuticle the polish was thick and at my usual nail salon at home I leave with very smooth skin as they really work on getting dry skin off. This was not the case today. So all in all, this wasn't a good experience. I'm in town for the summer and will be trying another salon next time. Disappointed as I felt that if they honored my appointment with Mary, this could have been avoided. read more

Great spot on the East side of TC. The folks who run it are very professional. It looks very busy most mornings, but that is a good thing! They have at least 4, if not 6 pedi chairs and have 6 nail stations. Everything is nice and new! I was there two weeks ago with my hubby, let me say the atmosphere is awesome, soothing music playing, wonderful selection of pedicure options, ( I had the mango pedicure) Young man working on me was friendly and nice but I could tell he was new, as he was a little bit too cautious if that makes sense. On to my manicure and this is when I knew he was inexperienced. It took him such a long time to roughen up my nails before removing the adding the acetone and foil, but it is fine, as I wanted to give him a chance. This process took quite a while, probably 45 minutes, again trying to be understanding. When he started to do the manicure he was not taking care of my cuticles well, I said something once but it didn't help. I thought I would wait and see how my nails do hence why I'm making a late review as of 10 days ago my nails ( Shellac) looks like crap. The sister eventually came in and finished up but at the end of the day I paid a lot of money and gave him a decent tip hoping for the best. I went in to Star today as a walk-in and they accommodated me immediately. Mary was very friendly greeting me as soon as I walked in. I received the Star special pedicure and was blown away. Not only did I get a thorough pedi but a massage, 3 step treatment and hot stones! I also received a full set from Mary and it's perfect. Service is inconsistent. Staff makes fun of customers and think they don't know because they are speaking in their native language. Today, the service was so bad that I will never go back. I was assigned to Andy - who was more interested in his cell phone than his job. The color coats were not evenly applied. UV lights were used to dry the polish, the timers were not set. My hands would get hot and I had to remove them. When I asked about the timers, Andy said he was counting! No way. He never once told me when the time was up and to remove my hands. After the top coat was applied, I would see a ridges between the top and color coats. When I voiced my concern quietly, Andy told me it was not his job to make sure the color was consistent! He raised his voice and belittled me in front of the other customers. He told me his name and said the next time I came back, I was to make sure I asked not to get him. I replied that I would not be returning. Andy started yelling again and berating me .... for no good reason. At that point, a different staff member came up and offered to make it right. I was so turned off, I just decided to cut my losses. read more

I got a pedicure and shellac manicure. Pedicure was nice but the polish was almost translucent and needed an additional coat. Shellac manicure was done really poorly. The guy was clearly rushing and/or inexperienced and as a result, the polish was chipping within 5 days. I had to have it completely re-done within a week. I've never had shellac chip before 2 weeks before, especially since it's more expensive than regular polish. I won't go back, which is a bummer because this is the closest salon to my house and I was looking forward to going in there regularly. read more

Okay so I have been coming here for years. Then they sold a few years back and it shows. I came for a mani/pedi ( what else ?) but I don't do polish on my nails , just a cuticle clean up and buff. Easy. When it came to the mani he took out a USED buffer and used it on himself as I was getting seated! Wth? On top of that grossness my cuticles and nails were poorly done, uneven jagged edges . When I pointed it out he just shrugged and continued to buff his nails while I sat there and fixed mine.. Never again. There's a new place in the west end I'll be trying. read more
