Services vary depending on the tech. Salon looks nice but it is NOT clean. Bathroom has stock boxes in it, paper all over the floor, dirt on the walls. I noticed this mid service and then, when the tech started my gel polish, the UV lamps were not cleaned after the woman next to me used them. I had to sit my hands in her hand sweat. The tech got polish all over my cuticles and skin and used her finger rather than an orange stick to remove it. I've been going for years. They are consistently awesome. I do acrylics and have yet to be disappointed.

Nail tech was distracted by conversations with her coworkers and not on the job she was doing. I mentioned that my nails were thin from a previous set of acrylics and requested dip powder with tips. Every nail has a gap between the tip and my natural nails. She didn't drill the powder down around my cuticle and then applied the top coat over my cuticles. When I left they looked ok, albeit thick and not the shape I asked for. The next day they started lifting at the base due to the product being on my cuticles. I'm disappointed for $60 plus tip. read more

Been here few times and this last visit was very disappointing. We paid $60.00 a piece for a pedigree and it was basically trim nails and paint them. During a three-year period when I lived elsewhere, I frequently drove five hours to have my nails done by Celine On several occasions I have had to use another staff member; they have always been professional and well-trained by Celine, the owner. I went to get my nails done and decided to get dip powder, as they are advertised to last at least three weeks. I got them done on Monday and today, Friday, they are chipped. The manicure felt rushed and it's now clear they do a poor job. In addition to this, they cut me three times and drew blood with the drill, and didn't appear to take any special cleaning precautions, which is concerning to me. read more

I almost hate to post this, because I've gotten good pedicures here in the past, but this last trip was very sad. I chose my color, and the technician tried her best to talk me into a different bottle. It was not as bright as the color I wanted, so I stood my ground and told her to use the one I picked. The bottle was only half full, so I think she didn't want to use it for that reason. She still insisted on showing me the other color on one toe after she put the base coat on, and I said I wanted the other, and she wiped the other color off. Then she proceeded to just paint the nail, without putting the basecoat back on the nail. I pointed this out to her, she started over again. Then I noticed that she put three coats of polish on my right foot and only two on my left. When I pointed this out to her, she put three coats of polish on my left foot. I had this done earlier today, and despite drying all day, I went out tonight and when I got home, I noticed that both big toes are messed up badly. I'm going out of town tomorrow, and won't have time to go back to the salon to have this fixed. I believe this is because three coats were put on my toes. Just be careful and stand your ground. If they do more than two coats, Have them redo for two coats. 3 Coats Was Way too thick. I don't think I'll be going back. ETA: 5 days later, big toe on right foot cracked and broke. I can't believe how bad this latest pedicure was. read more

I always have a great experience here. No matter who does my nails. I was getting manicures and pedicures here for a long time until a friend turned me on to ColorStreet. Now I do my own mani's and get the deluxe pedicure when I come here. They really take the time to pamper you and give you your money's worth. Plus they have a HUGE inventory of OPI polish to chose from, which is my favorite brand. These wonderful women are chatty if I'm in the mood or quiet when they see I'm here to just relax. I was in need of a gel manicure and eyebrow wax when I came upon Star Nails. It is located in the Kohl's shopping center near the Sun City Tan salon. Very convenient. The gel manicure was $30 ($5 more than what I pay in GA) and the eyebrow wax was $7. The woman who did my eyebrows went a little crazy with the tweezers. They'll definitely have to grow out a bit, so I won't be in need of another eyebrow wax for a while. The manicure was basic. The salon has a huge selection of nail polish colors and lots of room with plenty of seating. The staff is friendly enough and I would definitely return when I'm in town. read more

I'm just so disappointed in this salon. I hate to post a bad review but it seems so wrong to me how they treat people. First, they charge way too much for their services and sometimes are just super rude and don't talk to you at all. This is coming from trying to go there for years and always feeling like my experience was lacking. Secondly, I went in there today to try to get 2 nails fixed. The lady asked if I had them done there.....and I said no (and heard another lady say no at the same time) and as soon as she heard that she told me it would be a long wait, at least 30 minutes and that they were busy. I had the worst experience at Star Nails today. The lady doing my pedicure cut my skin when she was trying to trim my nail. I called her out on that which she did not like. She then proceeded to give me a very sloppy pedicure. I point this out to another lady as I was paying. She said oh I will clean that up for you. Well, then she cut my toe as well! An amazing experience. They have this art down. I got pedicure and manicure. Very affordable. The pedicure was a true healing experience. Nice massage chairs to relax in. The professional woman who worked on my toes and feet knew what she was doing. Massage also worked on my lower back. Left there in less pain. Amazing. Truly felt t a difference. Some of the technicians are very argumentative and they try to talk you out of things that you want. For example, one time I asked for a new shape for my nails I wanted round this time instead of square, the lady told me no and continued to do what she was doing. Another time I had to go back because one of my nails had chipped and it had only been a few days. While she was fixing that nail I asked her to fix another one because it was a little messy, she said to me, "No it's fine." I hate having to explain why I want things done to my nails. If I am paying them there should be no argument. This was not the first time my nails had chipped off after only a few days. One week I went back twice because my nails were chipping and I get GEL! Nice people is the only reason I rated the salon so well. We asked for mani-pedis. My daughter and I were not given a spa menu or choice to upgrade from the bare minimum. We were given tepid foot soaks, no scent or oil added. Then a mediocre 5 minute foot massage with plain lotion. No hot wax, no stones. I usually spring for the pedi with all the bells and whistles. When I asked to see the list, I was directed to a marquis on the wall stating pedicures were $15+. No description of service. Not sure what the + meant and the employees seemed confused by questions. Usually after a good pedi, my feet and legs feel rejuvenated and are smooth and soft for days. Not today. My feet are as rough, dry and achy as when I walked through the door. The manicure was a JOKE. She spent 1 minute or less filing my nails, told me to wash my hands and said I was done. No soak, no massage, no lotion. I had to ask for polish! I used to think very highly of this place. I came in once every two weeks and got a fill in on my acrylics and a polish change or pedicure for my toes. I always went to the same person and I never had a bad experience. However, lately, my favorite person is gone so I have been bounced around between staff. I've had everything from chipped acrylics the day after having them done, crazy sharp thick edges, see though polish, but my last trip there really takes the cake...Amy, who I was with for the very first time decided to point out to me that I've gotten fat since I started coming in. I have never felt so humiliated. I quietly let her finish doing my nails (which she made insanely thick and obviously fake looking), paid, and left. I used to go to this nail salon all the time. On my last visit, I went in to get a pedicure and I even requested my manicurist since she did a good job on the last pedicure. I believe her name was Amy. Well on this day she was talking in her native language nonstop to a fellow worker. It sounded like she was mad. I don't know, but I thought it was rude. She proceeded to cut my cuticles on my toe. She cut too far and pulled a bunch of skin. I let out a scream - ouch !!! She apologized and said I had ingrown skin. Well, this happened 15 years ago. I have had numerous pedicures since and they ask me what happened to my toe. They tell me that my toe was damaged and the manicurist cut the cuticle too far back. The skin no longer grows like it used to. I don't recall having ingrown skin before Amy pulled it, but now I do have issues. I will never go back to this salon. read more

My friend and I went together and got started at the same time. The man who did my nails was unfriendly, never greeted me, never smiled and when he started he said he would just file my nails. Mind you, he didn't ask me, he told me. I asked him if he could please cut my toenails as short as possible. He just repeated that he would just file. He was also impatient about me paying. I was trying to get into my purse and he acted like I was holding him up big time. When I inspected his work, he didn't even polish the entire nail on 5 nails. One of my bigger nails looks smaller than an actual smaller one because he only painted 2/3 of the nail. The job was uneven and my big toe is even starting to chip after only 2 days. He may not have even done the 2nd clear coat that is done at other places. This was my first time and if I go back, I will be certain to stay clear of him. I was so impressed when I first walked into this salon. It looked very well designed and had a very professional feel to the overall atmosphere. First, I got a pedicure and my toes looked nice and I thought the lady did an average to good job on them. At a closer look after I left the salon, I realized she had cut my toe and I had bled all over one of my nails, she also cut one of my nails WAY too short, and did not even attempt to shape it all at. Next, I just wanted a simple gel manicure. It had been a while since I had gotten my nails done but I was letting them grow out and had them pretty long. Before I could even notice the lady had filed them down into teeny nubs! She cut my cuticles up, made me bleed, and the final job looked awful. Not only did I have little nubs for nails but they were a mess! I also asked for a simple design (three painterly brush strokes on one nail), she proceeded to tell me "nail too short" and that she would do a flower instead. I said no and then tried explaining the design and once she tried it looked like she drew a penis on my nails (nothing close to the reference picture), defeated and just wanting to leave at that point I said thank you, paid, and then left with my bloody, messy, penis, nub nails. read more

I have been to this place three times for the manicure/pedicure package, and of those three times, I have had infected nails/skin twice! This last time was Friday, July 24, 2015. Both of my big toes got so infected puss was coming out, and one other toe is peeling strangely, like my skin is melting away. It hurts a lot! I've never had problems with my feet before, either.
