Honestly they were so nice and got me in quick today, and when I didn't like my nails initially they didn't argue they just tried to fix them. But an hour and a half later after being redone once already they shouldve looked better and I didn't have time to stay and have them done a third time. It was an older man that did them but I didnt catch his name. They look lumpy and very thick and unnatural with a lot of gaps in the sides, but it's the huge space between my cuticle and where the gel starts thats driving me crazy. I just had them done (and redone) and they look like they need to be filled already. read more

Since moving to the area I have been looking for a nail salon and have been trying different salons around town. Star nails was recommended and I thought I'd give it a try. I called and made an appointment. When I arrived everyone was very friendly and helpful. I decided on a powder dip manicure. I am not sure if this was his first set of dip but I was shocked at how bad they looked. There was a gap in the base near the cuticle. The nail was lumpy and the application was over my cuticle in places. Also the shape of the filing was all off. I didn't have time for an entire new set so in left and decided to deal with it until my next manicure. (Usually two weeks). When I got home and put my glasses on ... oh my. It was so bad. When I combed my fingers through my hair, my hair would get stuck under the nail at the base. This was day one. I spent the next several days researching salons to have them removed. Another expense and time consuming. Thankfully I found a wonderful salon in Winchester. I am sad to have to write this review, I honestly hate yelp reviews because they are often emotional and reactive. So I waited a week. I know this salon has great reviews and I am sure there are nail techs that do a great job. I was just disappointed in my results. I am posting pics. They don't rush to "get you in and get you out" like some of the other locations do. Visited this shop with my mom after another shop was too busy to take us in. They were able to help us right away! My mother enjoyed her pedicure and got a lot for the price. Everyone working was super nice and pleasant to be around. The women who did my nails was very nice and gentle. I love the way my nails turned out. The design painting is not the same as what I showed her, but not everyone's an artist. So if you're looking for a detailed design, I'm not sure I'd recommend coming here. But the quality, service, and overall experience was nice! read more

When she saw I had gel that needed to be removed, she said $35...I said you told me $30 on the phone & did not ask if I had gel to remove. She said if I was an existing client, it would be $30...I told her I was looking for a new salon and could be a returning client...she held to $35...I walked out. I went there today and got a manicure. It costed 30 dollars and I think it's overpriced. I went with some friends and they got their nails done by the women in the salon and their nails looked pretty good. I got mine done by the man in the salon, and the final results were missed spots on the nail and nail polish all on my fingers. I could've done a far much better job at home. Yesterday was the first time I visited this establishment and it will be my last! I went in to get my eyebrows waxed and after telling the woman several times that the wax was to hot I ended up getting up and telling her to stop. I left that place with both eyes burned. By the time I got home my right eye was so swollen that I couldn't see out of it. Trust me and don't visit this place. I enjoy going there to get my nails done. Christine is sweet and her husband has a great sense of humor! Christine is fast at doing my nails and knows what she is doing. They always look great. If at times I have to wait she always apologizes and thanks me for waiting. She also does great on my brows! I have never known or seen any of them be rude to customers. The first time I went to this establishment was yesterday 07/22/2016. I was very disappointed. I went into this place with my 9 yo son for pedicures the lady behind the desk acted like we were a bother. Well I blew it off and we sat down. The younger girl who helped my son was so kind, patient and nice. The lady who helped me was in a rush and when I questioned what she was doing she snapped at me. Once more and more people started coming in the lady who was working on my pedicure acted rushed she paid more attention to the group coming in then to me. I still had a manicure to get done and the lady asked if I still wanted a manicure. Yeah, I do. I just told you 5 minutes ago. Anyway, when I was getting my manicure done I told the lady I do not like the polish because it is streaking. She says that's all polishes. I told her it's not, but she argued with me. While the other women had their feet and hands under the fan in the back the lady who worked with me had me put my hands undet a uv light. I did not have gel polish and when i told her the polish was not drying properly she said "you're fine leave". I left and no sooner did I get to the car my polish hit the handle and as I told the lady my polish was ruined. I walked in and she yells what do you need? I explained to her what happened. She said "sit down you need to watch what you're doing i told you your nails were wet" ugh first off she said they are fine and dry leave. Anyway, she fixed the problem and I will never go back there again. read more
